If it's anything like ordering a truck or any other trailer, it takes time to make a slot in the production. Took over a year for a reefer. 2 years for a w990
I'm always amazed how straps and chains get loose and need to be retightened.
Most loads have to settle then you redo the chains or straps
Indeed. Some things settle more than others, plus bouncing on the roads can have an effect. FMCSA regulations state you have to do a load check within the first 50 miles (or 1 hour, whichever is first) after leaving the shipper, this is usually where things need retightened/readjusted the most. And then every 150 miles (or 3 hours, whichever is first).

If you find this- Squeaky seat fix- Use pam cooking spray on the seat that way it wont smell like wd40 in the truck. It works great.

I haul cable reels alot and sometimes they use landscape timbers which are really soft compared to 4x4's great video people such as yourself make us shine out here..much respect sir..

Pulling into that parking spot also makes it quieter for the other guys when you run your generator. You should stay at that big casino about 10 miles west of the border on I-40.

I'm always concerned about the load being secured trailer hookups etc. Your one of the best when it comes to securing a heavy loaded trailer. So good I've even forwarded your videos to my niece after she went back to driving a semi. She said if nothing else keeps refreshing her training about maintaining a semi.

I try to put all my binders on the driver side. They are easier to see in the mirror and keep an eye on them.

Good video Dan, E logs are a real pain how much time do you lose with them over all nothing like the good old book! If the book was done right, you're never out of time, it was people who got greedy!
I prefer E logs. Faster and easier for trip planning. And you don't have to compete with someone willing to run 16 - 18 hours a day.

Dan I’ve been pulling tanker for about 25 years. I’ve been wanting a change and was thinking about flatbed and leasing my truck to Mercer. But spending thousands of dollars on securement and a headache rack and buying or leasing a trailer is scaring me off. What do you think?
I don't recommend WD-40,try some white lithium grease
I sub to truckers all over the world. In the UK & Eu they run all thier long trailers
with 6 tires on 3 axles. I think the max trailers there are 40ft. Austrailia is mad
dog nuts. I dont know what thier gross is, maybe they dont have one as most
trucks pull 4 or 5 road train trailer setups. Each trailer will have 3 axles w 12
tires on the back with a trailer dolly up front with 3 axles and 12 tires. Yeah, 24
tires per trailer. As a lot of road trains service the out back on dirt roads they
may not have gross weight limits. So strange.

I was wondering what noise level you experience in your truck? I'm not sure how you might measure it but it seems pretty loud compared to trucks I drove here in the UK, even allowing for the difference in speeds?
Pretty sure dans truck have no mufflers and its a cat so it rumbles when working
When i drove a cat with stright pipes pulling a four axle dump people said they knew i was coming there house windows would rattle
@@heaveymelt The reason I asked the original question relates to the noise level inside the cab. If the driver is exposed to a relatively low level of loud noise but for long periods then he/she is likely to experience hearing loss...
I'm not suggesting Dan should wear hearing protection but I can't help but wonder whether it might be an area he needs to investigate. If he goes deaf he can't blame his employer can he...?

If you have ever seen a broken chain and the outcome of a spool going through the sleeper you would be using 3 times the amount of chains and binders !
