  • In this video, I will show you how the clean the easiest pond filter on the market, the Oase Bisomart 36000. Pond filters do not have to be difficult to clean and you shouldn't need to pay too much for an easy clean filter.
    BIOSMART Filter Sets have replaced the established Oase Biosys Set 1 and Biosys Set 2 gravity filter sets and are the perfect introduction to proven Oase Filter Technology. The combination of large filter foam surface and integrated Oase UVC technology ensures clean, clear pond water. The in-situ foam cleaning mechanism enables convenient cleaning of the filter foams without the need for removal from the filter box. An integrated pollution level indicator signals the right time for cleaning. The Biosmart 36000 Set includes the energy-efficient OASE Aquamax Eco Classic 11500 Filter pump. The addition of an optional Oxytex pond aerator will further improve the water quality and health of fish, other aquatic life and plants, and it will improve filter performance by up to 25%
    Maximum flow-through 11000 litres/hour
    Special filter foams (red and blue) for highly effective nitrification, as well as for de-nitrification (green)
    Cleaning via the sludge drain by simply pulling the integrated slide valve
    Long service life thanks to high-quality materials in functional design and first-class workmanship
    Integral thermometer to monitor water temperature

    I just wanted to express my gratitude. I have a snapping turtle that's about to turn 15. The canister filters I was using before couldn't keep up with him.
    Thanks to this video, I picked up this as his new filter and it's doing so well so far.
    Thank you for showcasing this unit as an easy to maintain system.

      Yes pond water is best, you don’t really want the filter to be clean, just not blocked up…

    The 3K is an excellent Mechanical Filter, just one question, it's not so good for Biological Filtration. Can Zeolite or K1 be added by a filter media Bag

    Just purchased the Oase biosmart 14000 and tried to pull the cleaning handles up but they wont budge. Could this be that it has never been used, and sponges dry.

    Good Channel - refreshing to watch your take: Do you like the Oase complete kits with their Eco Premium pumps? They look great but would need to be to justify the expense! I fully realise you may never see this but the comment can only help. Cheers

      Hi James thanks for the comment. Tbh we rarely push the premium range of pumps as they are expensive it just gives us more chance of loosing a job. There are so many other pumps which work just as well and a fraction of the cost. The eco classics are good, even the budget pondomax pumps are really good. A pump is just a pump unless they offered a 10yr warranty, our opinion they aren’t worth it

    Hi i have bought this system after watching your videos,i only have a 5500 ltr pond but as you have said you cant over filter,can i just ask if the pump that comes with it is too powerful for 5500 ltrs as the water circulates quickly and i dont know if the fish mind,thank you for the great videos

    • @thep0ndman
      @thep0ndman  11 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the comments. Good circulation is an asset to be fair. You can alway play around with the direction with a few bends on the pond return to slow the directional flow down

      Hi. Do you mean which one out of the biosmart range, the 36k max top end as you say your fish are small so stock would potentially be maxed out. You could go for this system but potential upgrade down the line or bite the bullet and get a bigger system from the start, just depends on budget etc. if you would like to send us an email to info@simplypondz.co.uk we can have a look at few different options if you like cheers thanks for comment though 👍

    Damn, I have been cleaning my filter with a tap close by. Had the 36000 fitted about 6 weeks ago after 4 weeks it cleared to the bottom (10k Ltrs 3.5 ft deep) then started clouding again. Called the person that fitted it and he cleaned the filter 5 times in a row and used tap water too. Now I see why it went backwards. Can you put anything in to help grow bacteria or just let nature take its course?

    If I look at theese, will the BioSmart set and FiltoClear give my around the same filtration ? And the ScreenMatic will add the removel of larger partical (Cheap drum) - Prices are from Denmark.
    Planning af 8-1000 Pond with a decent amount of golf fish, no plants etc.
    Oase Biosmart 36000 - 345 Pund
    Aqua-Tech UVC-36 W - 116 Pund
    Combined = 461 Pund
    Oase FiltoClear 31000 - 534 Pund
    Oase ScreenMatic2 40000 - 696 Pund
    Biosmart = Cheapest, Easy to Clean, all particles goes into it
    Filtoclear = Decent price, can be below water, Easy to Clean, all particles goes into it
    Screen Magic = Most expensive, decent easy to clean, remove larger particles (60000 model "only" cost 110 pund more)

      i would go for the biosmart over the filtoclear or the screenmatic over both depends on your budget,

    Hi Pondman, I'm thinking about getting this filter set up for a pond in building which should be around 3000ltr which will have Koi in. Would this set up be adequate or would I need something bigger?

      You may want to consider a larger filter with a stronger uv, 55w min i would suggest

    I have the same filter box on a 6000l pond that has about 15 fish in it and I have to clean it every 3 weeks. Is this normal or is the box too small for the pond

    • @thep0ndman
      @thep0ndman  2 года назад

      Thanks for the comment. It could be that you just have too much sediment in your pond, perhaps up turned plant pots etc. it may be worth having the pond cleaned etc to remove any excess which will help you keep on top of things. But I haven’t seen it my self so can’t be sure but quite a common issue cheers. Presume when you mean clean the filter you are just backwashing like in the video?

    Just got a biosmart 1400 kit for a pond that's just under half the size of that pond (3300L) but has a lot of goldfish and 3 koi. On that box, there is just a threaded waste port, form what I can see no valve, but then I'm going by one pretty useless YT review - do all the biosmart boxes have that waste valve? makes sense, otherwise you'd get it all over your hands unscrewing it.
