I happened to tumble across a few leaves of this baby rubber at Walmart, propagated them just for fun and now this big baby is the star of the house. Isn’t it the most gorgeous plant ever 🤍
This is so helpful. As I am a new "planting/plant lover" . I've always loved pepperomia lover. This one was given to me as I was leaving a procedure after God allowed me to be victorious over colon cancer and Chemotherapy. Thanks again. I'm subscribing! You're delightful and easy to listen to.
OMG. I saw my pepperomia sort of struggling and I thought “big wide leaves must equal a plant that requires more light! I’ll put a supplemental light on it!” Face palm. It yellowed and struggled more. I now know better and have done some research. Thank you for this!
Like how ur video is to the point and under 7 minutes is most ideal in my opinion. Thx for making this video. This beauty has becomes one of my favorite too.
They also are a fav of thrips, from my experience. One of the only plants I have that get them in summer, along with pothos, philodendron and "Satan's lettuce" 😂
So far I have the obtusifolia, obtipan, red twist (it's growing side ways and then turning upward), emerald ripple, caperata (newly purchased), and my favorite the pixie lime light. Looking to getting more!!!!
You probably just saved my plant! It was suffering from sunlight but i thought it was veey thirsty so i soaked it in water 2 days in a row and that was my plan lol
Great video! My plant has been by the window, and l have it for over a year, but it doesn't seem to have grown much. Do you think it needs a larger pot? tks
@@Thankful_. Coolest and i think will be a super nice plant for u as well and my pepe is growing flowers so nice and easy to care for plant :D anyone else
I just bought one of these about a week ago, my first one. It was super root-bound at the store (but looked healthy & happy) and I thought once I re-pot, fertilize, and give it some TLC it would do so much better. I did those things and also put it under a grow light and it is browning, struggling, and doing so much worse. 😞 It also hasn't soaked-up ANY of the water I initially put in. 😭
New to plants so excuse my ignorance. So the baby rubber plant is different from a rubber plant? I got a baby rubber plant about 2 months ago and I really like it despite it not looking as full as yours. It’s constantly growing more leaves up top and nothing has fallen off so I think it’s happy here.
It is different from a rubber plant! “Baby rubber plant” is just sort of the common name for this peperomia obtusifolia. True rubber plants are from the ficus family, ficus elastica are the green and burgundy and variegated kinds you see at stores. This one is called a baby rubber plant, because it’s leaves and characteristics are similar to ficuses despite being a peperomia.
I bought her I'd say two months ago... she was somewhat small.. two weeks of having her she had grown three green strings in random places it made me question if my pepperomia obtusifolia was actually one at all... I want to say another week or two went by and I noticed they were dying off now its been months and she's been very healthy at least I had thought... I noticed she has a few leaves that are brown but they aren't dry it looks as if more are starting to do the same...
Mine started doing that from direct sun. Put it in indirect sun and watch. Do NOT over water this plant. Pay attention to what he says about watering. If the leaves are full, looking like "watermelon"..... let it go a few more days. If in doubt.... wait on this one. If they start looking not plump, water them. That is your sign.
Can you tell us what it means when this plant starts growing legs? Or fingers? Or... is a boy? 😕 This is a new thing for this plant to me. I assume Sept is not mating season. 😅
I hope so for you to! because mine did not. lol. I moved and half of my plants didn’t take well to the new well water, I killed like 10 of them before I realized what was going on.
Yeah, it’s fine, just make sure that the soil is pretty dry between watering so you don’t drown it. Some people I know have all of their plants potted in pots without drainage and they’re doing fine. I just have a tendency to overwater, haha.
Hello...I'm Reshmi from India....my baby rubber plant is dropping her leaves 😭.I don't know reason......I gave water just as I would..... what I do ????pls help🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
😂😂 it’s so funny how we anthropomorphize things, some of my plants are girls and some are boys and I’ve got no idea what the deciding factor in that is beside my own brain.

haha, yeah these peperomia’s can be kinda mysterious. I never know what’s going on with mine. I’m always troubleshooting peperomia’s. haha.

Hey quick question what does it mean when the leaf has brown dots on it??
Mine started doing that from direct sun. Put it in indirect sun and watch.

Great video❣️ new subscriber here. Long videos are so unnecessary. Thank you❣️
2 years later did you get your watering under control? jk lol im an amateur but that was my first mistake with tropical plants. Thanks for the video!
I would like to see how are the leaves wrinkled
Tip-water from the bottom to avoid fungus gnats!
Nice plant. Thanks for sharing.

Would love a video on the red twist peperomia! Mine isn’t doing so good 😢
Mine’s looking a little odd too, but I’ll bump it up in the list and make a care video for it soon!
what’s going on with yours?
Just got one peperomia today, i hope it will strive and become a monster 😂❤️❤️
I hope so for you to! because mine did not. lol. I moved and half of my plants didn’t take well to the new well water, I killed like 10 of them before I realized what was going on.
I got one at trader Joe's. It has a ceramic pot but noticed there isn't a drainage hole. Is that okay ?
Yeah, it’s fine, just make sure that the soil is pretty dry between watering so you don’t drown it. Some people I know have all of their plants potted in pots without drainage and they’re doing fine. I just have a tendency to overwater, haha.
I more question I've lost 2 leaves.. the plant looks healthy..why??😢
How to watering?😢
How to watering pepperomia ?😢3:04
I like bigger ones too
Lmfaooo i love ur videos !!
Hi,
How do you fertilize with coffee , please ??
I have just started a new hobby for plants and would love to hear how is coffee used as fertilizer .
How can you know if a plant is a female or male ?
I have this plant and it's really long now but leaning, how can i make it upright again?
You could stake it, but if you want it to be stronger on its own, you might have to just prune it back.
@@michaeljohnhalse okay thank you!

how to know difference between boy and a girl flower ?
Mine is growing "fingers". What does that mean?
