Hi there. Thank you for teaching me about this plant that I have. Got it as a single leaf as a holiday gift last year. Now it is 2 feet tall and has produced several offspring. Last month it grew 3 coil-like strands that I assumed was new growth. The strands are about 5 or 6 inches each. This week I found all 3 of them clipped off beside the pot. I stuck them in dirt because I don't know what else to do. They aren't flowers but they aren't leaves either. I guess I'll find out soon enough if they will grow.
You are one of my favorite plant RUclipsrs. You are always so friendly and you make me smile. I wonder is your friends Thanksgiving cactus is still alive the one that never gets watered.
Thank you much Sophy! I'm not sure about the Thanksgiving Cactus because I haven't been to the SF Bay Area for a year. Fortunately it gets some moisture from the fog. Nell
Hello I don't have a green thumb. I'm trying different plants and I got a peperomia ob marble. It's very lovely. But needs higher light than they indicated. So it's growing now in a eastern window.
I love my variegated baby rubber plant but mine is definitely not a fast grower! I've had it at least a year, and it's not nearly as large as yours! But it's still a pretty girl! Love your videos Nell! ♡
Thank you so much for this video! I have one of these Peperomia Obtusifolia plants. Mine is in a more flat round pot so it is trailing but it sure is a very fast grower! Thank you for the watering tip because I have indeed been overwatering mine a bit lately and did not know until you informed me/us.😊 I love your videos. 💗🌹
Dang girl. U know your sheit. Lol. I accidentally burnt mine!😭 I left it on the patio for a day. It was like 75drgrees out? Ugh. It really is resilient. It's putting out a lot of new growth. Do you know if it gets extra dehydrated when that happens? It seems so thirsty all the time since...so dry...
Hi Nell, thanks for the care tips, I do love Peperomia Obtusifolia but mine keeps getting aphids, at the moment I haven't seen any. I wish mine grows big like yours too.
You're welcome! My houseplants don't get pest infestations except for my Lucy Bamboo which occasionally get spider mites. Yours should grow once the weather warms. Nell
I have a black thumb. I did so well taking care of these plants for a few months-then I put them outside for a day of sunlight. I burned them. Can this plant get better after a day of direct sunlight and brown spots everywhere?
Hi, thank you for the video. I have a Peperomia Obtusifolia plant, and it grows and blooms, but there are some small brown spots on the back-side of the leaves. I've read that this might be due to the over-watering. What's your opinion? Have you experienced that?
Hi Ugne - I haven't experienced that but it does sound like a fungal or bacterial issue which is due to overwatering. It especially happens in more humid climates. Nell
HELP I bought one and it was perfect a week I transplanted it and on that day it got all softened and it doesn't get better. I thought maybe I poured a lot of water on it that day oh he didn't like the soil
Thanks for that info Nell! I have two, a green one and a variegated one and I love them both. My green one is a rescue, quite a big plant with a trailing habit. I got it this summer, it was pale and limp, in heavy soil, but still growing, which is a testament to how tough they are! I've since repotted it and it's doing much better with the new growth coming in big and dark. However the old growth is still pale, rather chloropyllic looking. Any ideas on greening it up? It seems a shame to hack it back completely or to propagate and start over, it's a good 2 feet across and 1high!
You're welcome Sylvie! Oftentimes plants don't "green back up". I'd try Eleanor's VF-11 & worm compost & compost. Read about them in the post under "feeding": www.joyusgarden.com/peperomia-obtusifolia-care/ & see if you want to give them a go. Nell
Am a beginner plant lover. I have one peperomia in my garden. I really like it.

They are gorgeous plants, I can't wait to summer and start trying to collect some plants. Thanks Nell
Sure thing! You'll love this plant - it's so easy. Nell

I would like to see how your baby rubber plant would grow when hanging. It is beautiful. I have a new small one.and love its fleshy leaves.
Do you have video how to watering? Because i don't understand in words! 😢

You're welcome Tara! My 2 are putting out a lot of new growth even in January. And yes, go easy on the watering frequency. Nell
Wow Nell, that is one huge cactus! 😀
It is Diane! That's my Mexican Fence Post Cactus. Nell

Thank you Elizabeth! You'll be giving cuttings away to your friends in no time. Nell

Thankyou!! I just got mine 😁
I have 2 of these! Love yours Nell! ❤️
Same here Mr. Ryan! I love mine too. The baby is starting to develop character too. Nell
Is that an orange tree on the background? I love your videos and plants..
Hi Nell. One whole stem is like leaning downwards, I don't know what is happening, one whole stem fell off already. I don't know what to do. 😔
Hi im from Philippines.. Can i use coco peat, sand, pumice and vermicompost as soil mix for baby rubber plant?
I have a black thumb. I did so well taking care of these plants for a few months-then I put them outside for a day of sunlight. I burned them. Can this plant get better after a day of direct sunlight and brown spots everywhere?
I live in Florida 10b. Have you any experience with growing peperomia outside in our climate. It is actually native to Florida.

how often you put water on it? and what kind of soil you put? i am so disappointed my baby rubber plant died i dont know why pls advise..thanks
The new leaves on my obtusifolia aren't fully maturing, stay small, and sometimes curl. Should I leach the soil, or is it lacking a nutrient?
Hi Nell! Mine’s new growth turned dark, almost black, and fell off :( what might i be doing wrong?
My Pepperomias leaves are turning yellow, when they are usually a deep green color. Why would this happen?
I have one that is staked upright, and it is over 2 feet tall. Some of the leaves are over 3" wide.
I've once read they can reach over 3' tall JC. I'm letting mine go for a while to see how big it gets. Nell
Can we put in jar with water. Just like devil's ivy
Thanks Nell! By the way, what is that tree/plant/shrub behind you that is insanely loaded with red berries?
You're welcome Nicole! I think you're referring to the Pyracantha (Firethorn). The birds love the berries. Nell
Do they like to be somewhat root bound?
I think so, I have one in a kokedama and it loves it!
When is watering?😢6:21

I killed mine ... too much water, only once a week, sometimes less but it still died. 🙈😬
I can not keep these alive. I buy them over and over and I consistently kill it 🤷🏼♀️
But how? Why?
