    I've had SO much trouble with peperomias!~ and they are one of my favourite plants. I kill every one, despite having good luck with most other plants. They get VERY dry at the roots, but then start to wilt, so I water them sparingly, and they immediately rot. I can't seem to get the balance right. I have just ordered a peperomia caperata rooted cutting. I am hoping that starting with one that is so young, I can acclimatise it to my home. I refuse to give up.

    I envy you. I have not luck with peperomias. I had some babies, and some larger like Santorini and schumi red and I experienced every time I watered them stem rotting at the bottom of the stems. I have not windows only balcony doors, and no grow lights. So the plants are on the furnitures some close, some less close to the balcony. I guess low light was the reason because I watered them by testing with the water meter before. I end up having two struggling (Lillian and Polybodria) and I bottom water them now in case I have more luck.

    • @SheffieldMadePlants
      @SheffieldMadePlants  2 года назад

      Sorry to hear that. I guess I’ve been lucky enough to not have problems with mine. Must be combination of not enough light and maybe overwatering. Meter should help!

  • @weasel9062
    @weasel9062 11 месяцев назад +1

    Ah, interesting relationship with my one peperomia "napoli nights". Say they like dry roots but not as dry as succulents, okay. So I water the succulents once every 2 - 4 weeks. Start by watering the peperomia once every 7 to 10 days, after a couple months leaves seem soft and little to no growth, I start watering 2 to 3 times a week. Starts to grow and filll out much better over the next 6 months. Then out of nowhere, the large bush of peperomia in the pot all starts to die off. Root rot, but why all of a sudden? Take the entire plant apart and manage to "save" 4 individual smaller sub-plants from the pot. Repot it, start watering again but ever so slightly less. Twice a week, and am careful to make sure the water all drains through quickly.
    I'm about to sell the plant because it seems too finicky even though I got it back to good health, also my haworthia collection is getting huge and I need to make some space. From my general experience with this plant they like a considerable amount of water, definitely not dry roots but they want it to run right through. They can't take water everyday like peace lilly, but they'll slowly die if watered roughly as much as a real succulent.
    In regards to the succulents I have much better luck with them, but I've killed 1 haworthia, 1 echeveria, and 2 senecios. Never managed to kill any crassula, pachyphytum, aloes, or sedums. And the damn ghost plant and graptoveria just refuse to "stop" growing and spreading all over.

    Son sin duda unas bonitas plantas y muy fáciles de cuidar , la Graveolens la cultivo desde hace años en el exterior es la única variedad que he podido comprobar que le muchísimo mejor en exterior, en orientación norte nunca sur o pleno sol , un poco al atardecer o al amanecer le gusta pero no el sol del medio día o tarde , del resto yo suelo podarlas ya que en los inviernos suelen perder muchas hojas del tallo y no tienen su mejor aspecto pero las podas en primavera y así consigues una maceta más poblada y bonita . Un saludo 👍💌

I’d love to see an in depth video on peperomia ‘ice queen’. Also do you think peperomia ‘ice queen’ is the same as a ‘giant’ watermelon peperomia?
