Another great video! My G80 arrives in a month (finally) and I went with a local shop who offered XPEL. I love that this company did a 6 month checkup and were perfectionists with the details.
Congrats on your upcoming m3. You're definitely going to love it! Once you ppf it you'll have that more sense of relief. And that's what ppf does. It's not the end all from damage but it gives you a good chance in case something happens. Yeah the guys there are top notch!
God the red is so hard with those wheels.. those are by far my favorite OEM BMW wheels of all time, and there are many that I love, so that is high praise. I find it hard to imagine wanting to change them, even if I got a ton of weight savings, they just look so incredible I don’t think I could ever change them out.
Yeah I was just saying for me, I love them. I’m sure after a year or 2 I’d want to make it more my own style, I have some wheels on deck that I will put on my next car. I’m also waiting on the 20 inch RX-DF2 super concave wheels, if I would swap them for anything it would be those.
Drive it gray was actually one of my choices when I first saw the G80 M3. Yeah once the spring time comes around you'll definitely love the way this operates!
@@TheDailyDriven Happy with my Dravit! But I really enjoy a lot of the colors on the G80. Kinda hard to go wrong with the body lines and choices of color.
Really informative. I didn't really know but it completely makes sense that PPF life depends on the climate/weather where you live. Something to think about .
Yeah there's a lot of great information coming from them, it's always great to learn from the installers about the product. There's so much more that I probably don't even know yet
as a detailer of many ppf installed vehicles, use a quality durable ceramic spray coating like Turtle Wax Ceramic spray or Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic. I love beadmaker but stopped using it because it doesn't last..go with one of these as a topper apply on your ppf after cleaned and dried. and it last 4 months. then every 2 washes use it as a drying aide and you'll have hydrophobic properties forever as well as good gloss and protection. love you're Bimmer! looks so good
Definitely Top Notch customer service. Full transparency and they care more about the customer's satisfaction because in the long term that will produce more sales instead of just worrying about penny pinching every customer. We need more businesses like this🙏🏻
The red M2 and M3 are the most slept on color, I think it might be the best looking outside of maybe some uk frozen colors. I love the red, I’d go red with the black and red non carbon buckets, or I’d go Isle of Man green with the orange or the fjord blue.
I knew they would appreciate the thick foam if they upgraded their pressure washer. Now they just need the best foam cannon to go with it. It will be an even bigger change going with an MJJC.
The G80 M3 is so sick I’ve considered overextending and getting one and that’s not something I have ever done. I could lease one easily but I want it to be mine, when my current car is fully paid off I will be trading it in for one.
Another great video mate! My M3 comp X arrives mid 2023 and I want PPF as like you I am obsessed with car care and keeping it mint, however I have a problem with taking my prize possession, that has been put together by highly skilled German engineers to then have it stripped and reassembled by two part time (as wrapping is their main skill) local body shop guys. Does all PPF applications require mirrors, door handles, lights, and bumpers to be removed?
Thank you! Thank you for checking out the video. I'm glad this other people like me out there haha. When you ppf it there's definitely other ways of kind of making it seamless. But some of the best ways is actually removing the door handles and Etc. A good shop will do it right where you will never notice that it was removed. The guys in the video are incredible and do an amazing job where I don't know notice anything wrong with it
No chance am I voiding my warranty because someone has removed a part of the car and failed to put it back together properly. Also I don’t like the fact that the “10 year warranty” is dependant on climate etc. It should be for all weathers, garaged or not. That’s a bit of an excuse to not honour warranty. It should go from the worst being 10 years in the worst case, and even longer if garaged etc. Stone chips can be painted perfectly for next to nothing also and it’s much more cost effective than PPF. In the UK it’s £2000 to have the “track pack” which only covers high impact areas.
My M4 arrives at the port on Jan 18th, and I should have the car by the following week. I was all in on getting the PPF done (front half of car) with a full ceramic coat, but I don't know. I could just ceramic coat the damn thing and use the rest of the money to throw a nice exhaust on the car and grab some intakes...or use a chunk of what I was going to spend on some nice forged wheels.
Depends what you plan to do with it. Leasing? Maybe doesn't make sense. Purchasing? Probably a smarter bet. If you're doing a special order color AND purchasing, that might make even more sense. I did full PPF and ceramic coating because I have Frozen paint and it's borderline necessary, considering I'm not leasing either. Just depends what your plans are with the car long-term.
Congrats on the new M4 coming! I no the weight was probably brutal. That really all depends, @caseyrendon made some good points in his comment. His comment is spot on. I also made a video about this topic ruclips.net/video/Oy3Wp8kb1nI/видео.html Hopefully that gives you some insight and gives you some better idea on what you should do.
In reference to getting your car ppf, I've heard a lot of good things about detailers domain. They're based out in New Jersey. I've been following their work since I got into car detailing way back in the day.
Check out Blackout Tinting! The have locations in Pittsburgh & Latrobe. They also have a channel here on RUclips with the cars they work with and that’s how I know about them. Good luck
The dravit grey is cool.. but it’s overhyped, everyone gets that color, it don’t matter if it’s the m340 m440 m3 m4, that’s the color. I mean it looks sweet I’m not going to lie, but I wouldn’t get that color just because it’s the hype color to get. If I did get it I’d throw a matte ppf on it just to be different, I know some super fanboys would say that’s a sin but I disagree. Getting Dravit grey is almost like getting a blue sti or a red mopar. No bro we’re not doing that. Your red looks better to me, it’s different, I don’t see many that color, you see dravit on everything. If someone orders a BMW, they’re ordering it in dravit.
You won't have protection against rock chips though. Also with PPF you end up not getting any damage when someone hits your car with there door or side swipes you. Not to mention the self healing aspect means you can use pretty much any wash method and have little swirling.
He actually doesn't detail other people's cars anymore unless they're a big influencer. Plus these guys here at Hugh's Detailing are top notch. They do an incredible job and stand by their work

If someone is leasing their car then it definitely wouldn't be worth it. It's just different for everyone's situation
In my personal opinion I would inspect both shops work and see if they fit your requirements. But sometimes saving 3k could also cost you more in the long run. If you keep those two things in mind, it should help you make a better decision.

I didn’t realize some companies offer a 6 month checkup to see how their work is holding up. Good to know
Some do and most probably won't. I'm glad the team here are professionals and are protectionists
its great to see this. I think more businesses need to give this level of service. wished there were more businesses like this.

Yeah definitely ppf that but you might have to wait for the paint to cure. I forgot how long but the paint needs to mature to release gasses and ect.

That is such a beautiful color.
It's a very very dynamic color and it's definitely gorgeous 🤘🏻
He didn’t wear a watch this time fellas !! Lol
😅😅...that was a commented a lot in the previous series lol
Reasons why I did not bother getting ppf on my M3 lol
PPF ain't for everyone. Plus it was very minor issue that most other shops would have just trimmed it. I rather have ppf that deal with rock chips.
interesting video keep it up bro!!!!
