      For me, a walk around the block, 10 minutes on the rowing machine, sitting outside just listening to nature, or crocheting things for others😁❤

    2 months without smoke. Occasionally the desire comes but it is not so strong anymore. As long as i don't take a puff, i am safe. The secret is, keep away from cigarettes. No puffing even for a puff.

    Thank you Nasia. The more I understand, the better my chances of success! I’m on the path; on day three and will write my goodbye letter (which feels pretty daunting at the moment, not unlike the decision to go through with a divorce!) I’m learning to see myself through this with more tenderness and patience. I have already made significant progress by following your guidance. Bless your heart for offering this work to a suffering world.

    I quit smoking and lost my girlfriend. My girlfriend Lori hated smoking but she put up with me. Then I decided in name of my love for her, I would quit, what for 9 days was very hard for me to do, but to my chagrin, all she did was sarcastically snarl at me, "Well it's about time." Since she didn't care, I was hurt and I couldn't help my relapse back into smoking, and she then became downright hostile in how I had done this. I told her I thought she would love me for to quit smoking and profusely praise and thank me and maybe even throw a party to celebrate, what would have made me feel proud to have quit, but she never appreciated so much as to even one single time, thank me, what destroyed my motivation to stay smoke free, and this started the big fight what broke us up. We had been going together for 3 years

    I feel that Cold Turkey is more effective in quitting than the gradual reduction. Yet, I want to know whether cold turkey quitting causes any harmful effect.

    • @CBQMethod
      @CBQMethod  2 года назад +6

      Hi Rakesh, thank you for asking this. Research shows that cutting down and going cold turkey work the same! Actually, the best way is to do something in between cold turkey and cutting down. Here’s why:➡️ The good thing about cold turkey is that you’re done at once. The bad thing is that you suffer a sudden change.➡️ The good thing about cutting down is that you wean off nicotine and minimize the withdrawal. The bad thing is that cutting down with willpower makes each cigarette look precious.➡️With the CBQ method, we’re doing something different so you can have the best of both worlds. By going through the 4 quit smoking stages of the CBQ method, you remove your mental dependence on smoking, so you cut down without willpower. That way, you will wean off nicotine, you won't suffer a sudden change, and you won't feel deprived. But if you want to quit cold turkey, you can do that too. The important thing is to work on overcoming the mental addiction so you can be truly free!
      The key to quitting easily is to overcome the mental addiction, and that's what the CBQ method helps you with. It helps you change how you think about smoking. Because if you don't change your mind, it won't matter if you go cold turkey or if you gradually cut down because the mental addiction will still be there. As long as you overcome the mental addiction, you can successfully quit smoking either cold turkey or gradually.
