Nothing compares to 1980's U2! Back then they had their own unique sound and style that was like no one else.
Love U2 through the 80s and 90s. After that they lost their magic for me. But you're making me fall in love with them again!
80's U2 had a very distinct sound. You could immediately recognize the tone of Edge's guitar. Larry's bass was always put high in the mix and Adam's drums always sounded fantastic. Steve Lillywhite did an incredible job producing those early U2 records.
Inverted. Adam's bass - Larry's drumming.. NO? I only say that because - Larry was so damn fine! LOL
LOVE EARLY U2, I LOVE THE EDGE HE'S A REAL SWEETHEART! ANOTHER BAND THAT ALWAYS HAD A POWERFUL MESSAGES IN THEIR MUSIC! LOVE THE IRISH ☘️☘️☘️☘️ AWESOME REACTION RORY 💙 AND THANK YOU LYDIA FOR THIS AWESOME REQUEST, HAPPY LYDIA'S DAY 🌹!! GREAT REQUESTS. 😊💗🔥🤘✌️
@@laurawatters914 I had the October album, was great
😊
1980's U2 was so amazing. They had such a different style in their music and the way they played. Too bad they changed their sound from this in the 90's.
love...love...love...love...U2!! I just cannot say that I don't absolutely love them so much!! I saw their premiere on MTV and I followed their journey and fell in love with their ability to be vulnerable and naive. Thanks Rory!!!
Love U2 and Elvis obviously 😅 thanks Rory!
The pre-goatee/pre-beanie Edge! Have to 🧐 to make sure its the same guy. Then he plays that 🎸 great request Lydia! 👏🏻
😊
Very underrated song. The US Remix is even better.
*Rory.* Thanks 😊 Love early U2 ❤️ Also love low- budget 80s vids. When in doubt, record rooftop. Throw in some mist, a mysterious child, and a random guy in dayglo spandex doing cartwheels.
another banger :) Sorry been taking a break from requests had to shift to other matters, guess it's going to be you holding the torch for good music around here for the time being haha... sorry Rory :p
@@LydellC I bought "October" way back, was a great album
The guy in leotards is funny. What the hell does he have to do with the video??
I just went back and listened to the whole album- start to finish (In the past I'd listed to greatest hits discs, I'd had this on vinyl but sadly got lost a few years ago) - this album is so great. You really should do a full album listen. It's very raw and striped down.. like you'd imagine during wartime there are no extras, every note and emotion is urgent and in the moment. Their next album would take them away from the hardcore indie fans that had the band to themselves for the first three albums - and catapult them to superstardom. EVERY. SONG. IS. STRAIGHT. FIRE.
Drowning man
OOOOOH My GOD the memories. I haven't seen this video in a very long time. I had a huge poster of the four of them (wearing the same clothes) on my wall from this era/video. Again - this MAY be more about a relationship that's spiritual. According to the biography I read they were very religious during this period - something I had no idea about back then. Every song off War is a banger. The Refugee, Like a Song, New Years Day, and of course 40!! I got this album for either my birthday or Christmas in 1983. Played it to death! THANK YOU Rory and Lydia
😊
@@LydellC It's tripping me out to think they were 23 here - and their THIRD album. At 13, I didn't really get how young that was. DAMN.
@@josiepkat There was nothing like them. But for a brief time Bono and I had the same length mullet (mine was curly). Don't be jealous.
🎉
I dont know how U2 became so big. The front guy is sooo annoying.
