AF3

This is the shoe that Sifan Hassan wore to marathon Olympic gold sprint finish. And it’s the shoe that I’ve seen Conner Mantz race in for years. I was finally able to get my hands on a pair (that wasn’t the volt colorway) and took it for a first run today.
The shoe is really quite good. But I’m not sure I like it more than AF1. Up front, it feels like a Vaporfly with Air Zoom pockets, which is really quite different than what the Alphafly has been in the past.
The air zoom pockets are stiffer than I’d like. They seem to feel best at faster than marathon effort, but that’s also when the shoe feels a bit heavy in the heel.
The geometry of the shoe makes it feels like the drop is 10mm or more, even though it isn’t. And the cutout in the front of the shoe is a pebble magnet.
But at cruising paces, the shoe rolls really nicely. It’s a set it and forget it kind of shoe that eats up the miles. But there’s something about it that just feels a bit less special than the AF1. I like it a lot. I don’t think I love it.

For the previous iterations of both I'd bet the asics to be called aggressive.
