Thank you for the video, was great. One question though.. first flight today, all was fine until decent. When I tried to set the altitude to 36000, hit the two buttons and went to set verticle speed, but it wouldn't change at all.. I saw in your video it displayed the verticle speed while hovering over the mouse, but for me, nothing! Had to descend manually and then only at 2500 would it stick to the altitude. Any ideas of what I did wrong? Thanks
Many thanks.I tried to ask Just Flight, not to buy and download,l could ask about this ocasion, marketplace is also asked, but,no replay. I wonder if I would buy Just Flight derectly.
@@611Jayman sorry just saw this (thanks RUclips). You need to hold down the nose up/down switch until you can see the arrow change position on the VSI (the tall bar near the primary flight instruments which goes from +6 to -6).
This was excellent! A really clear and precise how-to guide for Concorde. If you do a cold-and-dark tutorial be advised there is a small error in the interactive checklist, totally my fault - EPU switch should only be turned off after all four engines are started. I'll be bringing out a small update next week to correct that, along with any other little bugs that are reported. Cheers :)
Thanks so much man. I'm a relatively new simmer and was instantly overwhelmed when I bought this plane. Managed my first full successful flight thanks to your short and concise guide. I think you've earned a new follower, keep up the good work 👍
Having tried both, the Colimata Concorde and now this one, I will not deny that I am a little disappointed. Either way it's a concorde and until it improves or they do something better it's the only one we have in MSFS 2020. Thank you for your videos! Great job. Greetings from Argentina!
set yourself up for disappointment then, its been clarified and known that DCD’s concorde would never be as concise as colimata’s lol, this concorde is designed for casual flight simmers
Very good. Only thing I would point out is that the afterburners are only needed for takeoff for about 1 minute and also for going supersonic to get through the highest drag region between Mach .95 to 1.7 (about 6 minutes. In real life it was 5 minutes). That was the real beauty of Concorde. Concorde would still accelerate from Mach 1.7 with the afterburners off. Leaving them on just wastes fuel.
I switched them off pretty much immediately after takeoff, and didn’t switch back on until 28,000 M0.95ish for that supersonic step climb. 👍 Fair comment about that climb - I always switch them off when MAX CRUISE illuminates, which tends to be around M2. I thought Concorde could only supercruise without reheat - I didn’t realise it could do M1.7-M2 without them.
Since I usually fly the Concorde between SFO and HNL, I cut the afterburner upon raising the gear, reduce thrust, and level at 4000' to 6000' until I get out over the ocean. Noise pollution was a big reason why the Concorde didn't fly out of many airports so I like to try to practice some form of noise abatement with it. But having an automatic flight engineer like the PMDG DC-6 would be very helpful in managing everything back at that station.
Yup, in the video we cut reheat after takeoff but continue at full dry climb, as Concorde pretty much used to do that out of Heathrow 👍 and yes I agree, a virtual flight engineer would be very valuable.
A few things to improve on, the nose is raised later on in the flight, roughly around 7000 feet for me. So by the time you pass FL100 you can accelerate past 250kts without damaging the nose. Another thing, the reheats are switched off at Mach 1.7 during the supersonic climb, where it will continue to accelerate to Mach 2 on full dry power. You should aim to reach Mach 2 the same time you hit 50,000 feet. You can then slowly continue the climb to 60,000 feet throughout the super-cruise so that you reach the maximum flight level near to the top of descent. A lot of information yes, but other than that this tutorial is great for beginners. :)
Yeah I’ve noted that the reheats should go off a little earlier at 1.7. I raised the nose just before I went through 250 - wasn’t Concorde allowed to exceed 250 below 10k once it left the terminal area? The DC does hit Mach 2 around 50,000, so it seems the flight model is accurate enough 👍
@@TiJayFLY Any aircraft can go faster than 250kts under FL100 with a “high speed” clearance form air traffic control, pretty sure Concorde may have had it a lot more regularly than other aircraft so it can quickly reach the Bristol Channel and fly supersonically as soon as possible.
I've tried climbing to 60,000ft using the max climb mode and altitude aquire with full afterburner, but the aircraft just sits at around Mach 1.3 and doesn't go beyond that even at 60,000ft. Am I missing something?
@@ChrystalGek yes - since this video was made, the plane has been updated and it’s now affected by fuel trim. Check out the pinned comment, there’s a fuel trim tutorial you’ll need to follow 👍
I wasn't sure if I should get this or the CRJ. I went with the Concorde for the fast flight. I'm happy with the purchase, its definitely a well made plane. I'm sure I will have lots of fun with it. CRJ is definitely my next purchase.
You really should point out at the beginning that the nav source switch above the frequency display MUST be set to INS if you want the plane to follow the correct route after takeoff. By default, it's set the other way. In this video, it's already set correctly.
At the time it probably was set correctly by default. The plane and sim have been updated a fair few times since. I didn’t do any “off screen” setup - I recorded and included every step that was necessary at the time. Thanks for the comment, hopefully anyone who needs to see it will do
Very good, clear and very short. I’ve just bought this package and I’m nervously preparing for my first flight. This helps a lot. Looking forward to your “cold and dark” video”.
It’s easier when fuel trim is managed for you. This particular DLC version is unrealistically complex IMO because you essentially have to do the flight engineer’s job too.
Unusual to see all those "easy" steps you made with AP which can be done on INS ON Mode (right switch) which confusingly is probably the GPS Mode of that instead of Radio. The LAND switch auto enables GLIDE anyways and does need both AP1 & 2 but I don't see it yet needing both FD ON nor tuned the same. Instead I use the Flight Plan from World Map anyways. We know the FMC is a temp design to mimic the A320. You did not enable the huge row of STABILIZER SWITCHES which will prevent it bobbing lots. Great Plane! Easy to Startup too with just a few switches at the rear.
"Easy" but not "simplified". I still wanted to cover the correct steps, but present it in an easy way. INS button on AP follows GPS, which in turn follows the flight I'd planned on the world map beforehand. The switch from INS to RADIO is for the ILS. It may currently be an auto-switchover in MSFS but you're *meant* to switch it manually. Not making the switch could screw you over in future, if the sim was ever fixed so the switchover wasn't automatic. I honestly assumed the stabilizer switches would already be enabled from a runway start, so didn't even think to check them. It's bizarre that they're off in the "flight ready" state, but thankfully I didn't really notice any issues with stability anyway.
@@TiJayFLY Hi! Thanks for the video! I have 4 Questions and id really appreciate it if you'd awswer them. 1.Where are the said stability swiches? 2. When i do my initial climb to 28,000 ft, it doesent stop there and go into altitude hold mode, it keeps going. What Do i do? 3: When i do my 2nd climb, It keeps going even above 60k feet. 4: When i try to enable LAND mode, the aircraft doesent decend like it's supposed to. What do i do here as well? Thanks So much again for the video it has been a big help.
Unless I am very much mistaken, you say you preloaded the flight plan into MSFS and we can see it originates at EGLL, but where does it land? Have I missed something as I would like to go thhrough your tutorial with a live flight.
Yup I planned the flight in MSFS - you haven’t missed anything there, a generic flight planning tutorial is linked in the description. Destination for this flight was Mallorca, arrival on 24L, but the procedures are the same whenever you go
Assuming FD and AP are active… Press M to pull up the map and make sure your plan actually carried across from the world map. Otherwise, make sure the plane is up to date.
I thought there was a button on the engineers panel that automates the job of the engineer to make the sim simpler. Its off by default. If you look at the actual flights of Concorde from the cockpit. The thing I like about this Concorde, like the real aircraft. You turn the after burners off not long after going over Mach 1. Then the aircraft will super cruise upto Mach 2. You just need the afterburners to get past the initial huge drag of going supersonic. All this is simulated lovely. They put the visor up much later. Nice video though
There’s a fuel auto trim switch but it doesn’t seem to work, and you still have to specify forward/back (as you say, it’s based on a real switch). It’s not like the Colimata or PSS where there’s a full virtual flight engineer. Would be nice if there was a clear “VFE ON” option somewhere that took care of everything fuel related.
Full afterburners on take off, rotate 180kts at 13 then 18 degrees attitude, then pull the throttles back to 85% and afterburner keys off, maintain 250kts. Terminal area and up to FL100 250kts (nose and visor raised 4000ft-6000ft) then full dry power climb to FL280. Once cleared of land, Max Climb with full dry power, starting the afterburners 2&3, wait 10 seconds then 1&4. The afterburners will remain on until Mach 1.7, then release 2&3, then 1&4. On descent, distance 250nms, throttle back to Mach 1.5, descend down to FL100 with max speed at 250kts. Descend to approach attitude of the airport, lower the visor, then nose fully down.
I purchased this superb Concorde sim, having considerable experience back in the day with Concorde on FS2000 etc. and given the fact that this MS2020 sim lacked Concorde. Without watching tutorials or knowing/ remembering how to correctly manage the CG by pumping fuel aft (or forward when appropriate), the correct Mach speed during climb/ cruise profile seems difficult (impossible) to achieve... Before and after watching this tutorial my flights are unable to exceed approx. Mach 1.6 on CRZ/ CLB above FL280.
Im going to be studying the CRAP out of this video.... Im doing a live stream of a full flight from New York to London this weekend and I need to learn everything I can!
I'm having alot of trouble I have followed the video a few times. The plane is doing fine until I reach about 55k ft and it starts losing altitude. I'm only getting to like 1.19 mach though. The afterburners are on. What else can I try to keep this thing at full throttle as I climb?
Since the update (after this video was made), fuel trim affects the plane. Check the fuel trim tutorial in the pinned comment - you’ll need to do this too now.
Followed this guide to the letter, but for some reason even though a pull back completely on the yoke, the aircraft wont nose up or take off even well past 200kts, it just plows through the end of the runway, I have no idea what I am doing wrong
It’s not just this guide you need to follow since an earlier update - you’ll also need the fuel trim video linked in the pinned comment. In most Concorde add ons this flight engineer role is automated, but for some reason you have to do it yourself in this one 🫠 Aside from that, check afterburners are on during takeoff, and that the airplane isn’t overweight or out of CG in the weight/balance menu preflight.
@@TiJayFLY Thanks for the reply, afterburners were on and the aircraft was certainly not overweight, guess it has to do with the whole fuel tank trim business but I wasn't sure, seems very complicated even with the video you linked, wont bother around with it now haha, thanks.
This is controlled by weight and balance in the simulator menus before starting a flight - if you add pilot and passenger weights, they appear. It’s the same menu where you set your fuel, as with any MSFS plane. You can also switch on/off the passenger models with a switch on the lower left of the engineer panel.
This is actually fuel trim - not only do you need to transfer forward and back for CG, you need to trim left and right to ensure there’s fuel in the main tanks that feed the engines. This is more of a thing in recent updates of the plane, so theres a fuel trim tutorial in the pinned comment, but tbh this plane really needs a virtual flight engineer or FADEC.
@@TiJayFLY ruclips.net/video/uRLbhWRI7A4/видео.html please help me :'( DAMN MAN I just wanna fly! All this transfering of fuel damn man ok i will check out the video in the comment you stated.....
Thank you for the video! I’m playing MSFS on Xbox. For some reason, shortly before I attempt to intercept the localizer and glide slope, Concorde ascends rapidly and messes up the approach. Any idea why this is happening?
I followed your guide, and successfully flew from Hong Kong to Japan, then I tried again, the plane couldn't go beyond 1.3 MACH for some reasons, not sure if I did something wrong or the live weather bug is back.
I'm having the same exact problem. I only make it to 1.19 mach. The plane climbs fine until I get to about 55k ft then it starts losing altitude. Not sure what im doing wrong. I'm following this to a T.
Whenever I reach around 50,000ft, the aircraft can no longer speed up any further and starts reducing speed to a point where it actually starts stalling and descending. I have afterburners on and full throttle along with AP1, FD1, max climb
See the pinned comment - in the latest updates that released after this video, fuel trim does affect the plane and you’ll need to manage it. There’s a fuel trim tutorial (not mine, but very good) linked in that comment too

hey, i just bought the concord knowing all pro's and cons but it seems not a single person has the same bug as me where the power of the plane just shuts down after a few seconds and isnt recoverable. theres no consistent pattern that i can see as to why or when it shuts down but it keeps turning off all electric power and then i cant fly anymore. i was wondering if you have any bug like this or have any in depth videos on the electronics to make sure i'm making a mistake and it not being a bug because id love to fly it edit: my EPU also cant be changed.
Yea this happens to me occasionally - you can see I mention it in the video around approach time. It happens in some default planes too so it must be a sim bug. Seems to be triggered by certain waypoints. I managed to recover it once, but yeah… Asobo really need to fix their stuff. Not sure about the EPU thing though
Hi there, I have some very frustrating problems. My flaps do not work since the lever goes down and comes straight back up and the altitude select knob goes up very slowly and takes a while to get to 28000 feet. I would appreciate any help with this, thanks.
For the first one, make sure the airplane is up to date. File a bug report if it persists. I believe there are two click spot positions for the altitude knob - 100s and 1000s, but if this isn’t the case, it should increase in scroll speed the longer the left click is held for
@@TiJayFLY Thanks for the info. Also, at 5:40 you said keep an eye on the mini map. I am quite new to flight sim so would you mind telling me where to find that?
I've tried following this tutorial about 15 times but my aircraft still doesn't want to follow my flight plan. Do you have any ideas as to why that might be? I'm sure it's something I'm doing but i can't figure out what. I created the flight plan from the map menu same as you. Also I appreciate that you're still offering advice on operating the Concorde a year after posting this video, really awesome. Cheers

@@sushimello7524 I figured it out, might be different for you. For me, it was the INS switch being on Rad instead of INS. Go to 1:07 it's right above the radio, and to the left of the Mach hold button. It should be switched to "INS". Hope it works for you
Hi, for some reason, the autopilot dials and knobs aren't responding. So I can't change the frequency or altitude or anything. Do you know what the reasons for that would be?
@@TiJayFLY I've only just downloaded it. It worked the 1st time and I used your tutorial, now it's just flaking on me 😕 *Edit thanks for the quick response.
OK... I completed my first flight to JFK last night thanks to your late night advice. Seems if you start on the runways instead of a gate, that INS/GPS switch is not in the default position. Also the plane can randomly throttle down when taking off so starting from the gate is a must for me. I'm on Concorde Ver. 1.0.2 btw. In terms of flight, there were a few issues but I noticed the same again today on the flight back to Heathrow so I need to pick your brains please as I haven't played MSFS or Concorde since the 2002 version. 1) What amount of fuel do I start with? Half-full tanks don't seem enough. I near enough ran out when I hit Newfoundland last night and the same again before I reached Ireland on the way back. If I start with the max amount of fuel (within safe limits), the plane struggles to get up to 60k and M2.11. Sometimes it even stalls. Also when I do hit Mach. 2.11 and turn the afterburners off, the speed gradually begins to drop. When do I ignite them again and/or how often to keep the speed? 2) In the video you say begin decent at around 250 miles away from destination but that's nowhere near enough. I got atc commands to begin decent over the Irish sea and I was still travelling so high & fast that the plane couldn't turn quickly enough & I missed a sharp waypoint turn. This totally messed up the INS & ultimately my approach. Plus I couldn't find the command to skip to the next waypoint in the computer so I had to fly manually from Wales to Heathrow which was a pain in the ass. Any pointers here too would be great. No point in asking about ILS yet as both landings I've had to do manually for the same reasons. Thank you.
1. Near to full as you can get. Latest updates made fuel CG affect the plane, so check the fuel trim tutorial in the pinned comment - you’ll have to keep it in trim now 😓 2. Remember it’s descent and decel - 250 miles is plenty. You’ll be subsonic and at regular airliner speeds before you know it. Ignore the MSFS ATC when flying Concorde, it’s always late with the descent call. The hard part is eyeballing where 250 miles is, as the DTG screen in this Concorde doesn’t work…
i often experience unusual and undesired flight behavior with autopilot. for instance i will get to 28,000ft and do the procedure to attempt to get to 60,000 but at 36,000 feet it will stop climbing and pitch up down wildly a lot. its only fixed with a combination of turning off max climb and or turning autopilot off altogether and turning them back on again. another strange thing is the plane will be flying in a straight line on a heading but the plane will be positioned strangely in the sky ie not extactly facing forward more at an angle. say if i was at a heading at 360 the plane is flighing straight but the plane itself is position in the sky as if flying at 20 degrees lastly the plane might at some point decide not to fly the flight plan and course i wanted it to and will fly around in a circle
1. See the pinned comment about fuel trim. 2. That’s due to crosswind 3. That’ll be due to an unsuitable flight plan for the speed. Avoid tight turns in supersonic flight.
I have an issue with approach. My concorde flight the flightpan perfectly on the nav, but just before the final turn towards the runway and approach, it goes straight on. It does not want to make the final turn towards the runway. Anyone else having this issue, or can help me to solve it?
@@GerhardusDelport it’s a limitation in the sim. GPS path following and ILS following share sensitivity settings - in Concorde, the sensitivity needs to be really low or it would wander at Mach 2. The side effect is it’s not sensitive enough to follow an ILS
“INS” is LNAV. On the real plane, the INS feeds waypoints to the AP. On this version, the flight plan you create in the sim is automatically fed to the plane’s (slightly fictional) “INS”. So nav mode is still the INS button.
@@xjay1234 It’s all in the video :) burners off at 250 after takeoff then full dry throttle to 28000. After that, reheat back on for max climb to ~60k. Off again at M2. You don’t use AT until descent 👍
@@TiJayFLY Yes I have watched the video 15 times *LOL* I am so used to 'flying' A320 and Boeing Models - trying to transfer that knowledge to this speed king. Because in traditional airliners if you don't have the AT on can overspeed - but since you don't use AT until descent (in Concorde) fine - I guess impossible to overspeed in the concorde?
@@xjay1234 Only time you need to use AT at cruise is Mach hold when you hit 28000. This stops it going over speed while you’re busy configuring the final step climb
Around 250kts. You’re not really meant to exceed 250 until you leave the terminal area, but I’ve seen Concorde videos where they’re permitted to go full dry climb pretty much immediately - so in that case, you’ll exceed 250 fairly soon after takeoff as shown in the video 👍
Concorde makes many beeping sounds, can you post a video please so I can tell which one it is? RUclips unlisted will be fine, just let me know when it’s on your channel and post a link on discord in description
Easy to download from the Orders section of your JustFlight account, and it has an auto-installer. You do have to authenticate again with your JustFlight account during installation, but otherwise it’s hassle-free.
Was not able to get the plane to track the ILS, even tried flicking it back and forth from RAD to INS... no dice, nothing worked to get it to track the ILS. Something is fundamentally broken with either the plane or the Sim. Might try and see if I can use the GTX750 tomorrow as a work around until its fixed.
@@shinkicker404 sorry for the delay, I didn’t get notified about this. So yeah, the ILS won’t capture unless you’re dead on runway heading pretty much. This is because it shares sensitivity with the nav mode (thanks Asobo), so if the ILS capture area was “wider”, the plane would be too twitchy at supersonic speeds.
Indicated airspeed is less important than Mach number at high altitudes, but if you’re below Mach 1 at cruise, make sure the afterburners are on and the auto throttle isn’t overriding it
@@xjay1234 yeah - fuel trim affects the plane in the most recent updates (added after this video was made). See the fuel trim tutorial in the pinned comment.
@@TiJayFLY I watched but erugh fuck man look can't i just fly this bitch without needing to change fuel!?!?!??!!? Have my main engine tanks full and that is it! No changing over etc etc erc COG stuff ....
Simplification for the video to cover varying fuel loads and conditions. I could have spent ten minutes explaining the formula for working out V speed, or I can cover everything in a second by saying “pull the nose back at 150 and the plane will take off when it’s ready”. That advice is much easier to understand for the audience these videos are aimed at - remember that MSFS brings a lot of people who are likely new to flight sim, and just want to fly without being lectured for hours. There are plenty of other guys who serve a hardcore audience :)
@@TiJayFLY No it's cool I totally understand why, and I don't really know how rotate speed changes in airliners. It's just me as a pilot imagining of rotating at 75% of the rotate speed.
It was acknowledged and fixed by Asobo for the 787, but it still occurs occasionally at certain points - usually during an approach - on other default planes (and planes that use those default systems). It’s not so much falling out of the sky as engine failure, even with failures turned off. You can recover if you’re high enough.
Great tutorial, immediately subscribed on your channel. I just have a question, i am not able to have a fuel higher than 61%, even if i set 100%, somebody has the same issue?
The sim has an issue where it forgets the fuel you loaded in the menu with pretty much every plane. Set the fuel again once the flight loads in, and it’ll stick.
If you’ve planned a flight in the sim, hit INS and it’ll follow. AP1 and FD1 need to be on. Make sure the little switches above the nav frequency are set to INS not RAD (should be correct by default).
@@TH33QUALIZ3R Check your custom scenery folder and make sure it's all compatible with the latest world/sim update. Outdated scenery is generally the cause of CTDs.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to see how many NM you are from your destination, because I don't know when to start descending now :) And just wanted to say that this is a great tutorial, I can do full Concorde flights myself now while using a few systems (so not just manually flying from point a to point b without autopilot etc.), making my gameplay feel way more realistic than it used to be!

@@kevin_van_den_berg I *think* if you have the GTN750 addon you can pop up a GPS that will list distances throughout your flight (in any plane, not just Concorde).

Cheers :)
Noted :) Thanks for taking the time to watch!
First time I tried starting the engines I made this mistake, only 2 engines started, but then I realized you needed the EPU switch on

Great to the point tutorial, my first flight without your video was a disaster, watched this and a near perfect flight
Fair comment about that climb - I always switch them off when MAX CRUISE illuminates, which tends to be around M2.
"A fairly hard and premature landing", I love it!

Gotta say I was a bit overwhelmed with this aircraft definitely a lot more complex than I expected
It’s easier when fuel trim is managed for you. This particular DLC version is unrealistically complex IMO because you essentially have to do the flight engineer’s job too.
Going to have to watch this like 10 more times while im flying but thank you!
Pause at each stage of the video and make notes 👍 then use those while you’re flying

Unless I am very much mistaken, you say you preloaded the flight plan into MSFS and we can see it originates at EGLL, but where does it land? Have I missed something as I would like to go thhrough your tutorial with a live flight.
Yup I planned the flight in MSFS - you haven’t missed anything there, a generic flight planning tutorial is linked in the description. Destination for this flight was Mallorca, arrival on 24L, but the procedures are the same whenever you go
@@TiJayFLY Many thanks, I am looking forward to replicating your flight this evening.
Excellent video...so I did the flight plan...pressed the INS button and kept going in the same direction...what did I miss? Thanks

Hi! I haven’t bought the concorde yet, but i was wondering your opinion on it. Is it study level? Is it fun to fly?

This is actually fuel trim - not only do you need to transfer forward and back for CG, you need to trim left and right to ensure there’s fuel in the main tanks that feed the engines. This is more of a thing in recent updates of the plane, so theres a fuel trim tutorial in the pinned comment, but tbh this plane really needs a virtual flight engineer or FADEC.

Latest updates made fuel CG affect the plane, so check the fuel trim tutorial in the pinned comment - you’ll have to keep it in trim now 😓
2. Remember it’s descent and decel - 250 miles is plenty. You’ll be subsonic and at regular airliner speeds before you know it. Ignore the MSFS ATC when flying Concorde, it’s always late with the descent call. The hard part is eyeballing where 250 miles is, as the DTG screen in this Concorde doesn’t work…
@@TiJayFLY OK thanks ill give it another go now haha
i often experience unusual and undesired flight behavior with autopilot. for instance i will get to 28,000ft and do the procedure to attempt to get to 60,000 but at 36,000 feet it will stop climbing and pitch up down wildly a lot. its only fixed with a combination of turning off max climb and or turning autopilot off altogether and turning them back on again.
another strange thing is the plane will be flying in a straight line on a heading but the plane will be positioned strangely in the sky ie not extactly facing forward more at an angle. say if i was at a heading at 360 the plane is flighing straight but the plane itself is position in the sky as if flying at 20 degrees
lastly the plane might at some point decide not to fly the flight plan and course i wanted it to and will fly around in a circle
1. See the pinned comment about fuel trim. 2. That’s due to crosswind 3. That’ll be due to an unsuitable flight plan for the speed. Avoid tight turns in supersonic flight.

@@GerhardusDelport it’s a limitation in the sim. GPS path following and ILS following share sensitivity settings - in Concorde, the sensitivity needs to be really low or it would wander at Mach 2. The side effect is it’s not sensitive enough to follow an ILS
So Concorde does not have an LNAV button? The FD button acts as the LNAV?
“INS” is LNAV. On the real plane, the INS feeds waypoints to the AP. On this version, the flight plan you create in the sim is automatically fed to the plane’s (slightly fictional) “INS”. So nav mode is still the INS button.

GLIDE is approach. LAND adds flare at the end. If you press LAND it arms GLIDE too.
@@TiJayFLY I am pissed off man Concorde keeps crashing :@ :@ :@ :@ :@ :@ is there something to do with the fuel management?????
@@xjay1234 yeah - fuel trim affects the plane in the most recent updates (added after this video was made). See the fuel trim tutorial in the pinned comment.
@@TiJayFLY I watched but erugh fuck man look can't i just fly this bitch without needing to change fuel!?!?!??!!? Have my main engine tanks full and that is it! No changing over etc etc erc COG stuff ....
"our rotate speed is about 200 kts, so lets start [rotating] at about 150 kts"
It's just me as a pilot imagining of rotating at 75% of the rotate speed.
how did you get the passenger camera view?
You can just move the regular camera and set a view preset. The controls are specified in the menus, but it’s mostly just arrow keys
I’ve never encountered that issue with the airplane just falling out of the sky, in fact I’ve never even heard of it?
@@TiJayFLY Thanks a lot
Great video! Just wondering, did you say the top of descent was 250 or 215 miles?
Thanks
I start at 215
@@TiJayFLY That explains why I crashed into a mountain. I thought you said 250! Haha
Thanks I’ll try again today
@@AJLTunes if your route is mountainous you might need a bit more careful planning, maybe plan some step descents to make sure you miss the terrain :)
I took off without any problems which was a surprise but I can't get it to turn and follow the flight path. I've obviously missed something...
If you’ve planned a flight in the sim, hit INS and it’ll follow. AP1 and FD1 need to be on. Make sure the little switches above the nav frequency are set to INS not RAD (should be correct by default).
@@TiJayFLY LOL it's just crashed to desktop. I'll give those a check now though thank you.
@@TH33QUALIZ3R Check your custom scenery folder and make sure it's all compatible with the latest world/sim update. Outdated scenery is generally the cause of CTDs.
@@TiJayFLY I'm running the latest beta that'll most likely be the culprit.
PS It was the INS switch that I was missing. Thank you. Subscribed.
How did you know to set your VOR to 237?
You can find ILS frequencies and courses at apxp.info
I'm in 250 knts but it js doesn't take off, it just keeps going on the ground even if i pull back
Not sure the airplane has been updated for su14 yet. Could be a bug. Seek support from the developer.
How do you check what frequency to set
When you set arrival runway in the world map it lists the frequency on the right hand side. You can also just Google “airport name ILS frequency”
Thanks@@TiJayFLY
Sometimes i just cannot get the plane to fly faster than mach 1 at 55k +, with full afterburner. very confused!
What sort of weight are you at? Could be a combination of weather and fuel weight. You should be way above Mach 1 a long while before you reach 55,000.
@@TiJayFLY I am thinking it could be to do with center of gravity and fuel load, because my AOA was 11 degrees whilst flying straight.
Just completed a flight from new york, and following your instructions exactly i did manage to cruise at 2.04
Why am i losing speed when i put mach hold on? And arm autothrottle
Probably fuel trim - is your fuel trim indicator within the yellow arrows?
Where do i see the course of the destination? i don't get it
See 01:20 on this video for details on finding destination ILS frequency and course ruclips.net/video/-ivz3PapuDI/видео.html
@@TiJayFLY thank you so much!
Great video, where can I find the manual?
In the plane’s folder once installed
NO passangers and pilot apeared. only co-pilot . how do I control to enjoy with avatar?
Add pilot and passenger weight in fuel/weight setup menu in sim
@@TiJayFLY
Thanks for your reply.
I did as you do, but not avatar appeared, and then I tried to change it in the camera section, then I push co-pilot button, pilot appeared and co-pilot setting an avatar before disappeared.
In the cabin, I push the passenger switch, I could hear the passenger sounds without passenger avatar.
In these reason, I would ask you how to do.
After starting flight, please check weights again in top menu bar. Flight Simulator does occasionally change the weight and removes pilot/co-pilot/passenger weight.
@@TiJayFLY thanks I did sometimes but not, in addition to that, I tried to reinstalled, but not, I don't know why this situation has continued.version is updated. pc for xbox series is not fit for avatar, toilet door is opend, water is drawing, passenger's chatting I can hear, and then?
@@osamuumemoto7688 maybe it has broken 😔
i followed the same steps as the video and i was getting a loud alarm all the way through . also the x box series s version is annoying as you cant keep and maintain a 50% zoom in the cockpit it allways resets to 0% when you move
If you can post a 30 sec game bar recording on your channel (just reply here and tag me when done) I can take a look. Also can you not set custom views on Xbox? I thought you could…
@@TiJayFLY you can set custom views . The problem arose by default view it was set at 0% Which made it have a fish eye lens look , So I set the zoom camera in quick menu to 50% but every time you move the controller it reverted to 0% .this has been fixed as a search online provided the answer
where do you find the frequency
I use apxp.info
The textures and looks of that cockpit leaves much to wish for.
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to see how many NM you are from your destination, because I don't know when to start descending now :)
And just wanted to say that this is a great tutorial, I can do full Concorde flights myself now while using a few systems (so not just manually flying from point a to point b without autopilot etc.), making my gameplay feel way more realistic than it used to be!
Concorde TOD is roughly 215nm from destination, assuming you’re at Mach 2/60,000ft. There is a DTG counter on the pedestal (assuming you’re flying direct and the “next” waypoint is your destination)
@@TiJayFLY Usually I’m flying using waypoints in between my departure and arrival airport, is there any way to see the distance than?
@@kevin_van_den_berg I *think* if you have the GTN750 addon you can pop up a GPS that will list distances throughout your flight (in any plane, not just Concorde).
@@TiJayFLY ah thx! I’ll install that later, that would be really useful 😅
Great vid, how did you set the course?
It actually happens automatically in this plane when the frequency is tuned and RAD NAV is selected. If you need to set it manually, it’s the hexagonal knob below the course “display”, next to the heading on both sides of the MCP/AFCS.
So the plane would not follow the flight plan even though I did the same things you did
@@Sandmanispro8366 everyone says that, but when I see a video of their issue, they are invariably missing something. If you share a link to a video of the issue on the discord in description, we can look at what’s going wrong
I had this issue, wasnt mentioned in the video, just to the left of the mach hold button theres a little switch that says "RAD/INS" by default it is switched to RAD, all you gotta do it switch it to INS then you should be good!
@@Reece6Thank you so much!!!
The only thing good about this Aircraft is it's looks, after 3 updates it's naff, at 52,000' (the max alt I can achieve without it plummets) I get no more than 535 knots and I have so called lesser aircraft that can do that, it's just a conversion of their FSX Concorde with the same result's, RUBBISH

Oh tysm!!
Will it be always in the sim?
@@star_wars_fan I don’t think there are plans to remove it from the marketplace. If you buy it, it will always be in your collection

This was into JFK I believe
@@TiJayFLY thank you
How do you know what the ins frequency is ?
I use apxp.info
I don't do any of this, just power up and go...
Maybe that's why I don't get to Mach speed, seems to stick around 300 knots, even trying to fly level with afterburners on!
Concorde does require a specific procedure, but your issue is more likely fuel trim. Check the pinned comment, as it needs to be adjusted manually now 😢
@@TiJayFLY I will have a look, I'm a very basic pilot, so will have to see how I get on lol
@@WattsZen when this plane was released (and this tutorial was made), fuel trim didn’t affect the plane and so it was suitable for beginners - but since fuel trim dynamics were activated it became a lot harder. Even I don’t really fly it these days because of this.
Every other sim Concorde (Colimata, FSLabs, PSS) in the past has included a virtual flight engineer to deal with this stuff. It’s a shame this one doesn’t, especially given MSFS’ core audience of casual and beginner pilots.
