- This is a video about how you can scale ui for all your devices on ROBLOX, like making your game mobile-compatible, console-compatible, tablet-compatible - basically compatible on any screen size without using extensions or plugins. This video is ideal for beginner scripters and UI designers, as it shows the fundamentals of UI design on ROBLOX. Making your user interface compatible on all screen sizes is important because you want your game to be able to be played seamlessly by all types of players.

ROBLOX should have this setup by default. The fact that we have to go through all of this just to get the UI to STAY how we set it is sad, everyone should start suggesting and petitioning for GUI to be anchored by default

Roblox studio is a game engine, roblox already handles your servers and database, it’s a game engine where your making a game they shouldn’t do everything for you

For those who are having trouble with ImageLabels (aka it stretching if the screen is a different format than the one you intended), set the ScaleType to "Fit", that way your image won't stretch.

I was trying to figure out how to fix scaling for my guis for the longest time, this video saved me SO much time. Thank you very much!
Also set the anchor point too 0.5, 0.5 since that is how it calculates where on the gui you want to be the base point for the manipulation. For instance if you set your anchor point too 1,1 and you changed the position to 0.3 it would set the bottom right corner of your Gui to 0.3.
Give this man a pin, saved me a whole lot of trouble trying to figure out why even using the percentage wouldn't make the GUI in the same area cross platform!!

Hey man, I just wanted to say as a GUI newbie, you are an absolute lifesaver, I've been searching on devforum and youtube for a while now and they've kept saying "use autoscale lite" or "use scale than offset", which I have tried, but don't work. Unlike those posts and videos, you actually give examples and show what both udim2 values do, and I thank you for that! I might've just read those posts wrong, but you've saved me another few more days! ❤❤
autoscale lite does help, however not for the reason I was looking for, due to this, I've been extremely confused for a few days, I'll only use autoscale lite only for costranits from now on, but not sizing and positioning!

I tried this on my join screen play button thing, it didnt work , then i tried it on every else gui , it worked on them, I think it was because i had it under one frame , so i decided i would just delete it.
Really good solution, I had multiple problems with the gooo weees in my games while creating.

and when comes with multiple frames on gui, make sure all frames are in parent of one frame otherwise its gonna look weird and detached

For most of the people saying why he is pronouncing GUI like "gooey" instead of G-U-I is because "gooey" is how you really pronounce it but most normal people prefer to pronounce it like G-U-I. So dont get mad.

The issue comes when you have an image and you want the image to have the same resolution throughout. How the heck are you meant to do that
Add a UIAspectRatioConstraint to the image

This is a great intro video to scaling and sizing. But I did wish you went into more advanced methods, since these basic concepts don't work entirely when you get into more advanced GUIs

😅 I learned how to script at age 11 through an online book, so I suppose the habit of saying gooey stuck around
for some reason, this doesn't work for UI i want at the very top of my screen, it lowers it a little

That’s probably because Roblox changes some things on a phone. What you could do is use UserInputService.TouchEnabled to detect if the user is running on a touch device and then if that’s the case (if it returns true), set the Y value to a negative value
