I researched this what feels like 5 years ago and it cost a fortune and required some sort of Joan subscription
How can it be so thick and heavy when the market has 5mm thick 10” e-reader that are so light and thin with battery in it?

Correct, Joan doesn't make monitors, they make boardroom meeting connectable devices that you update via wireless means
