I was a heavy drinker for 40 years and I quit. My secret? I stopped buying alcohol and pouring it down my throat.

Did you also stop hanging around people who drink?

@@Jack-zj1ug I don’t hang around with people well except my wife. I don’t care if people drink alcohol or don’t eat meat or whatever. It’s a personal choice that doesn’t affect me so I don’t worry about it.

Thank you for sharing your story.. I am searching for answers in how I should help my son.. everything you said I see happening to him. I had a talk with him last week and told him this has to be his choice.. and I am always here to support him and pray for him.

I published a video this week on how to help an alcoholic but it seems you're already handling it well. I hope you and your son can resolve all that you need to.

Same here; emotional regulation issues and awful gloomy depression plays a huge part in my drinking. I think that's where AA is so simplistic; it's WHY people drink. Why? There's no big man in the sky about to save me.

STOP AVOIDING REALITY AND RESPONSIBILITY. THAT IS THE REASON MOST PEOPLE DRINK, DO DRUGS, OR ARE ADDICTED TO SEX OR FOOD!!!
