Sometimes her songs does not capture a big story. It captures the emotions of particular state of mind with the sound and her voice and some lyrics. I mean there's a story in this song too but you can say it's not in brief.
If u listen to the demo, the song became even clearer, that this song was written for her drug addict lover who seem to went OD Iv got the ice, you've got the fire 🤠
Dammm, this album keeps coming back every year, and it has been 10years for me, listens to it every other year but the nostalgic-ness doesnt end ...only God knows when this album will leave the chart
My top favorites: Dark Paradise Off To The Races Gods & Monsters The Blackest Day 24 Religion Cherry 13 Beaches Get Free Cinnamon Girl Mariners Apartment Complex The Greatest Dark But Just A Game Dealer Across various albums of hers. She’s simply an amazing storyteller and her soundscapes are next level especially with headphones
This might be my favorite track off Born To Die. The way she fluctuates her voice in subtle ways is nuts. And yes Emile Haynie is a legendary Hip-hop/Crossover Pop producer. He produced basically the whole album save for Video Games if I'm not mistaken.
All of her music just hits differently than any other artist for me .. Lana is just different in such a unique wonderful way .. this song def being one of my top favorites as well !! 😁
I lost my partner of 20 years to Glioblastoma brain cancer 2 years ago at the age of 42, this song destroys me when I hear it, the lyrics resonate so strongly, "loving you forever can't be wrong, even though you're not here, won't move on. Your soul is haunting me and telling me that everything is fine, but I wish I was dead, dead like you, every time i close my eyes it's like a dark paradise" and then you have friends and family just telling you to move on.....like in the song, they have NO idea what it's like to lose a soul mate at only 42 when you've been with them your entire adult life, yeah this song hits me hard. 🧡💙
That song is a masterpiece. That's what got me into her music. I was like... Jesus, that woman's voice and singing are mesmerizing, but she has deep things to tell, what the hell. And that chorus, indeed. The entire album is a classic.
First of all I love this song so much so I searched for the reaction video and yours is on the top! Second of all I love you I love you I love you especially your dance moves that were in tune with the best! This song is a master piece Great reaction my guy. Omg National Anthem is also my favorite. We can't pick just one song of hers tbh
I really like it when they sings the exact same phrase in a song, but with completely different beat to give off completely different feels to it. one of it is this song (the 'I don't wanna wake up from this tonight' part), and it's just brilliant!
Fav B2D album track and in my top Lana songs ever…. For sure even though it might be the hardest list ever to make…. This old money, black beauty, California, happiness is a B, Arcadia, Off 2 Races, God & Monster, West Coast
Its a sad song I think she wrote this based on her story .. she loose her boyfriend due to drugs!... she has another song called heroin.... very good too.. very recommended
can you react to “Lana Del Reys Best live Vocals” by popcrush and if you want to know more about how she started and the controversy that surrounded her first album you should watch “The authenticity of Lana Del Rey” it’s by Middle 8 🥰
If you never been depressed or experienced depression you Clearly can Not read between the lines! There is so much more you missed, but that’s due to you not being in that state of mind ever
The "fat beats" ruined the song. They don't fit her style. Once again a "producer" insists on making an artist's song "his creation". The art of music production is to facilitate an artist's vision, not to be cookie cutter and produce every act the same way regardless of style or content. Phil Spector and Mutt Lange are prime examples. They produced the biggest names in history with their signature styles without making them sound the same. Phil Spector produced albums for acts as varied as The Beatles, The Ronnettes, and Tina Turner. Mutt Lange produced albums for Def Leppard, Shania Twain, Britney Spears and AC/DC. Nobody ever accused any of the groups or artists they worked with of sounding like anyone but themselves. I enjoy Lana del Rey's uniqueness, she didn't need to be "Kanye'd" by a producer who's a one trick pony.
