The 90s spiderman show was most certainly NOT a tie in to the Tobey maguire films.. that would be “spiderman - the new animated series” which was created by mainframe entertainment and aired on mtv after the release of the first film in 2002
Spider-Man 94 wasn't tied in with the Sam Rami Films whatsoever. The first Spider-Man film wasn't made until 2002 and the last season of the TV series ended in 99-00

If you ask me, a Spawn-like animated adaptation of the X-Men should've been created as well and it's horrible than they haven't made such an adaptation yet LOL. By "Spawn-like" I mean a TV series oriented towards a mature audience of course. One where lethal force and bad language were allowed. Where Wolverine was allowed to slice up people and where he could smoke and drink like he does in the comics. The 1990s version was very limited due to it being designed as a kids show. An adult oriented adaptation must be made.
