      I actually own a 1989 K75 cafe racer, and I love it. But we are debating which bikes for us are worth it from the triumph range, since they are expensive. The Thruxton is for us.

    I appreciate that you and your buddies tried bikes that were out of your style zone. From some the comments below I think care should be taken not to lump people and type of bikes together based on age, sex, etc.
    I have seen very fast talented riders on low horsepower machines and seen very slow and marginal riders on high horsepower bikes. In my opinion the rider makes the bike regardless of age, weight or anything else. Bikes are not limited by age but rather your riding style makes one bike better than the other.

      Jeff Graham I almost bought one when they first launched here in Australia! I went to do the deal & the dealer was pathetic! Hence I bought the BM S1000R! A friend of mine has one & loves it. They still look beautiful so I’d never say never! Because of the BM’s obvious power output, with my older Thruxton, power isn’t an issue. It literally is my go to “nostalgic” bike.👍🏻😎

      Hi I own a 15 plate Thruxton 900 but I'm really going to have a think whether I want a 1200 or go back to a sports. I really wanted some analysis on how a sports bikes differs to the Thruxton R. People just keep saying they're "different beasts". Is there anything else that can be said...?

    • @andrewd7586
      @andrewd7586 3 года назад +1

      @@nuruzzaman4893 From my perspective. I know how animal sports bikes are! Anyone who buys them does so because of the absolute adrenaline rush! I loved my BM S1000RR! But found apart from occasional track days, riding in general lost its fun for me. Also here in rural Victoria, Australia, our cops through legislation of zero tolerance over the speed limit, can come down pretty hard... IF they choose! Most are quite good being honest. Still I don’t want to be in that position! I just find my Thruxton makes me smile each time I ride it! Sure it doesn’t handle like a sports bike or go as hard but it’s unadulterated, pure riding...for me! If possible keep your Thruxton as well. It’s great to have choices!🤔💭😎👍🏻🇦🇺

      Daniel Thompson I haven't had a close look as yet but I will in the future , but one can see the fit and finish now on the Trumpy's is superb , 11 years ago I was thinking about buying a Thruxton so I went along to a dealer , the fit and finish was still so poor compared to the Harley I didn't have to think twice , but since then Triumph has persisted and come out on top and no doubt would have to be showing it in increased sales .

    Found a great deal on a Thruxton S right after my heart attack in April. 56 years riding and 60+ bikes owned and multiple ridden this bike is truly amazing BUT you have to be into bikes, not just speed or suspicion or comfort etc etc. you have to love bikes for what magnificent machines they are. My clubs here consist of the vintage/antique owner, rider ,builders and the modern supersports/ sport tourers but everyone has to look over the Thruxton when it shows up. I do love my MT09/07 , F800R and NC700X but again you have to love bikes to really "get" them as a design package. PS I do not miss speed cameras.

      My answer for him: MT10 is more powerful and no 😂

    • @TheGrabTeam
      @TheGrabTeam 5 лет назад +1

      To answer in more depth but with the same answer:
      Bearing in mind that my MT has been modified quite extensively it isn't a fair stock to stock comparison.
      I found the Thruxton to be abit to heavy and the tyres abit to narrow to be much use, That said with the engine and the throttle being so smooth making turns on it was very easy.
      The MT10 is being moved to be more and more a track only bike it's what i'd stick with. The thruxton could be used on a track but its better suited for posing and flowing bends so I won't be changing ( plus I think it's way to expensive for what you get)

    The Bonnie is a legend here in the States. Back when I owned a Hardly Runningson a friend that I rode with a lot had a Trumpet that he chopped out. My Harley kept breaking down, his Bonnie never died, it pissed a bit of oil here and there, but never died. Ever since those days, no more HD for me and I want a Trumpet so bad, one day perhaps. I noticed that the guy that was nice enough to stop and make sure y'all were ok, had some big ugly thing on top of his front fender but none of the bikes you guys were riding had that awful looking thing...what was that for? @@DUKEBLADE exactly. There are some 30 year old bikes that perform as well as a brand new sportsbikes or outperform them, so what, its not all about the hyper performance, its about the enjoyment of the ride. Love my Harley Night Train, still like my 1985 RZ 500 too. Ride safe.
