- The Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro was one of the most underrated and under appreciated features in my opinion. In this short, I will be giving you the reasons why I think the touch bar is great.

One of the most underrated features is the ability to use it to skip ads on things that forbid the use of adblock using the skip button.
I literally haven't wanted to update my computer in case that feature goes away. 😅 Is it still there in the most recent software update?

@@julian2wavy875 There are some sites that wont let you use Adblock. Or some academic things that make you watch a full clip and can't skip through it with other means typically with out a lot of work around some times.

With the Touch Bar I can skip RUclips ADS LIKE NOTHING, IVE NEVER FELT SO POWERFUL

I agree and I would’ve gotten a model with one if they had all the extra ports the new ones have.
Back on the day when touch bar was common placed, it was criticized hard by most youtuber for being a useless accessory, now when it's not there everyone wants one. Truly tells a tale beyond just macbooks😂
they need to make an optional touch bar option on the notched macbook pros

At first I didn’t think the Touch Bar was it. But I had no choice. Then I was really happy with Touch Bar. Volume brightness and sliding video is beautiful. Now it seems I have no choice but to get one without a touchbar
I accidentally select siri from the touch bar a lot, everything else about it really nice. I especially like being able to respond to popups.
I have a 2017 MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar and I honestly love it myself.

the problem is not the touchbar.. but the F keys they removed for making space for the touchbar.
You can use the function key to see all the missing keys

@@Nilly.Nil-zy9xdyeah, but you still have to look at your keyboard every time you use them. Plus you either have to dedicate it to function keys only, or use the physical function key to pull up the digital function row. It’s really distracting and slows down people who have an editing workflow that typically can be done as fast as you can press keys. It added a whole new dynamic to the input and made editors really really upset. Might be fun for regular casual users…but not for people doing heavy workloads.
@@ilovedagreenday Look at your keyboard?....oooh that's an issue! You do not have to dedicate it to function keys only, you can touch a key (even without looking) and there they are...function keys.

Literally the Touchbar was THE only reason I would go for the Pro.

I had a 2018 15” MBP and loved the touch bar. It’s definitely the single most underrated feature on any MacBook ever. People who didn’t like it just didn’t understand how to make it work for them.
You don't want to look at the keyboard when you're using it and, with the touchbar, that doesn't work anymore. In addition, in many workflows you simply can't lose the function keys (and no, showing them in a touch screen with fn is not a suitable replacement).
I bought my MBP 13" BECAUSE of the Touch Bar!

I agree, it’s so much more convenient for things like typing emojis, or quickly taking a screenshot. Sure you can use keybinds, but why do that when a simpler option exists?
Depends on the app. If you are like me and using Word for writing, you could simply press the super or subscripts/bold/italics option without having to move your mouse to the Word ribbon. Also when watching video you could scroll way more easily than using your mouse or trackpad. I'm guessing you never used it.
I literally preferred the MacBook pro M2 13 inch above the air just because of the touchbar and the vent, absolutely not regretting it.
And the best thing is I can skip unskipable RUclips ads on safari hahahaha!

I have M1 2020 macbook pro, and can’t let it go because of it..
Used MB Pro with touchbar for almost two years and enjoyed it more than buttons on my Air. But it required manufactures to adapt it to their software.
That change features one looks so helpful
Some functions like scrubbing through video are great on the TouchBar. Adjust brightness and volume also feels a bit more natural as opposed to hitting buttons. But the TouchBar did get criticized for good reason. The removal of the function row sucks and it is expensive to repair.

I absolutely loved the touchbar on my 2019 Mac Pro. If the keyboard had not went out I would still be using it.
I love the touch bar on my MacBook Pro. I'm upgrading this year and will really miss the touch bar.

I absolutely love the Touch Bar. Has never, ever, given me any problems.
It jumps around, and you have to spend 5 minutes tryna figure it out completely, initially.
Then is easily becomes Muscle Memory.
Hated for absolutely no reason.
Even my father, who’s a Software Engineer, and Codes himself [despite being in an Exec pos], liked the TouchBar.
If ur gonna show some love to the touchbar bro u gotta customize it way beyond what the default offers.
One of the biggest drawback for me was developing muscle memory with what came outta box to use it. I hate having to look at where I have to press to just to change volume and screen brightness.
Only thing I kinda liked was word suggestion when I'm typing and u can kinda chain it like combo
All the would have to do is add the function row in below the touch bar and it would be the perfect feature
Since Apple has full size function keys maybe if they were half size with the Touch Bar could be best of both worlds
I agree. I use the touch bar quite frequently.
Just purchased my first macbook pro which is apple silicon. Its an amazing machine although I do wish there was a touchbar. It looks real cool

The touch bar itself is super cool, but the fact other features were dismissed at the same time, made the touch bar the main target for these missing features

Totally agree. I am still hanging on to my 2018 MacBook for the same reason. Now, I'm in the minority here, but I don't hate the 2018 butterfly keyboard either..

I have a late 2016 15 inch MacBook Pro with the touchbar that will be with me foreverrrrr. Just replace the battery babyyyyy

Simplest fix - Keep the Touch Bar, but also keep the function keys. The newest Macs have full-size function keys, right? Well, split them in half to the size of the old ones, and put the Touch Bar on the top half! No dimensions need to be changed, and we get BOTH Touch Bar AND function keys. 100% BEST combination.
I was thinking to buy the macbook air m3 but the i heard that the touch bar can skip youtube ads so i changed my mind lol
Touch bar I could live with. Esc physical was a nice change, but the butterfly switches was a deal breaker, held on to the 2014 MBP until recently.
Finalllyyy someone talking good about the lovely touch bar , i spilled water on my my m1 MacBook pro and i am soo sad about the fact that no new macs has the incredible touch bar

They need to add the touchbar back and put it above the Fn keys so we still have it but we also still have the tactical keys if needed
Well it came on MacBooks right when the Ports and the Magsafe charger got disappeared, so people had to take out their anger on something
I just bought my first MacBook a few days ago but it’s the new one so they don’t have the Touch Bar. I thought the Touch Bar was a really cool feature when I saw them in the store and didn’t understand why everyone on RUclips complains about them! I wish mine had the bar!
Honestly I do love the Touch Bar, the screen on my Mac broke but with the AirPlay button on the touch bar it’s like stupid easy to AirPlay it to the tv and use it that way if I want. (Obv I still have an external display but still)

It was the best thing! I upgraded and I’m so sad it’s gone. Screen recording is something I do all the time, as soon as I started it the Touch Bar would provide all these controls and without the Touch Bar you simply don’t have those controls anymore. Just gone

I think we can all agree it was for some people and not others. The majority of people can do without it but for those who can use it, it's for them.

Editors use the F keys all the time. Some of the most important keys on the keyboard. Casual users not as big of a deal.
Left for windows because of it for a few years 😂 and i got back when there was option of macs without it
the issue wasnt the touchbar, the issue was the replacement of the function keys. If the touchbar was placed above the function keys there would have been no hate

I would’ve liked to have the Touch Bar, but it wasn’t an option on the MacBook Pro when I got mine. I’ve seen it on other people’s MacBooks, it looks like a good feature, idk why everyone freaked out about it

Its because they added literally no features and never optimized it over the years (except for the esc button becoming physical)

it got hate cause for one the touchbar version of the macbook didn’t have a replaceable ssd while the non touch bar version did not that it matters now though
Every time I tried to customize it the Touch Bar would stop working. It was too buggy
I miss the touchbar, I own a 2019 16inch i9 and love the touchbar. I also used it professionally for 2 years. I now also have a m3pro 14inch mbp from my employer and i notice that im missing the touchbar sometimes. The apple silicon machines are amazing though.
I agree if Apple made a touch bar MacBook with MagSafe I would definitely get a new one right away

total gimmick but i loved it. the brightness/volume slider was much more fluid than tapping the keyboard button and the control center still takes fractions of a second longer than tap and hold the touchbar, and slide. They did screw up making the escape button digital until the very end but they did bring it back. didnt bring any game-changing features but it was genuinely useful and i'll miss it, its only on the small macbook pro now and i want a bigger screen

YEP! Love my touchbar…. BUT since I know I will have to abandoned it one day, I came up with a solution. I now edit my videos with a loupedeck live. It is not the same but freaking versatile if you set it up properly 👍🏻

I love my touch bar for Words Suggestion and when i am writing it is corrects my sentence via suggestion of touch bar and as well as emoji and brightness.
Meh, I occasionally used it for emoji but other than that physical buttons are better
I love it. I have an i9 8 core 2.3 ghz 32gig ram MacBook Pro and I love the Touch Bar. Apple should have an option to upgrade to Touch Bar on the new m3 max. I’d have paid extra money for a Touch Bar when I ordered it. It’s a feature I’ll surely miss.

Here’s the thing they could have kept the touch bar and the function keys and nobody would complaint is the fact that they remove the function keys and added to touch bar that messed everything up. Oh yeah, and why not just put a touchscreen on the MacBook?
