The story about the lady with the dog, and drunk lady reminded me of something that happened to me several years ago. The perpetrators of this event where not drunk. They were worse. Religious solicitors. So a little background on me. 1. I am a life long 2nd shifter. 2. My yard has a 6' privacy fence around it. 3. On the gate entrance, there are 2 signs, NO TRESPASSING, BEWARE OF DOG. 4. My good girl is Raven, a 100lbs Rottweiler.
These people opened the gate, approached my door, and started knocking. Of course, Raven alarms. They continue to knock. Raven continued to alarm. Eventually, this wakes me up. So I go to see what's going on. I gave Raven the following. STOP. SIT. DOWN. STAY. I then cracked the door. They tried to hand pamphlets to me. I declined. Then I told them that they have 10 seconds to get off my property before I let Raven out. Also said that if your god saves you from my DAWG, I'll convert right now. I got to 7 before they ran.

One of my close friends had a similar situation, but worse because these people were already in her home. She had purchased a home and been living in it for almost a month. Half her things were not even unpacked yet as she was busy at work with a lot of OT. Wish I had that OT problem. Anyways, I was helping her with a few more boxes from her parents house when we got to the door, found it wide open. She is upset as she knew she locked it and I immediately tell her to get back to the car and I call 911. Police come quickly and enter the home after telling us to stay out to make sure it's safe in case of break in. They come out with man and woman who one officer is chatty with and the other approaches my friend to let her know it's just her friends shes been letting stay a few weeks. My friends jaw drops. Neither she or I have ever seen these two people ever and let the officers know this. They go back and chat with them again when one of them shows the officer some letters. Officer comes back and tells us these people claim they have been allowed to stay and showed mail dating several weeks that prove this so the only way to remove them is by eviction. They explained they have squatter problems and for now this is her only option. My friend is in tears and hysterical, I dont blame her. To think these people may have been in your home while you slept or can just enter is very frightening. She calls her parents up to tell them what's going on but is so upset, I can barely understand her. She hands me the phone so I can explain and her dad was furiouse! As I try to explain what the officer said he interrupts me and says he has a great idea. I hear his wife in the background tell him not to do anything stupid. Last thing I hear is he will be here in 20 minutes. I let my friend know who just nods at me to emotional to talk. The two squatters go back inside and I let the officers know her parents are coming in 20 minutes. One officer leaves to answer another call when her dad alone drives up. Hes driving the old minivan and the officer goes to talk with him and most likely tell him not to do anything stupid as well. They talk a moment and officer comes back to talk with my friend and I can see a grin on him no officer should have. It very well creeped me out. He informs her that her dad brought her 3 younger siblings who might convince her uninvited guests to leave. I'm about to say she has no younger siblings when her dad opens the side door and I can now see these new siblings I never knew existed. I just start laughing. Turns out I do know them. In fact each one has a tail. There her families 3 Rottweilers. After leashing all 3, he hands one to me and just winks. These dogs are huge and very intimidating. We walk to the door with officer in tow. As we enter we can see the two squatters sitting on my friends couch eating her food watching television. Seems they found and unpacked her plates. The woman not even paying attention gives us the finger while eyes glued on the tv. Her dad gives the best Karen imitation of a "Ahem!" Until now the dogs had been quiet, they are very well trained. Signal given, they all bark and growl visiously. The woman jumps right into what we think is her boyfriend, food and drink now dropped on them, couch, and floor. Her dad then tells me to let the dog I'm holding go. These dogs are damned strong. Holding this one back was hard enough, how on earth he was able to hold two was just shocking. The guy fbombs a lot and says we can't and officer states its her home she can let her dogs loose in it if she wants. I let mine go and it lurches at the woman who jumps again and in the process knocks her purse over. My friends dad calls the dog so she is not bitten. He then says leave and do not ever come back or next time he wont hold the dogs back. Quite a few swear words they agree and ask for us to move back so they can exit the house. As we move and pull the dogs back the officer tells us to hold a moment as he sees something which was on the floor. The womans contents. He calls for back up and apologises to us but to please be patient. I look down figuring he saw drugs but only see womanly things, credit cards and a bunch of jewelry. Other officers show up and after a moment arrests the two squatters. We are told to please remove the dogs and wait outside. Police are inside and my friend. Her dad and I are all taking guesses on what they saw that we didn't. They finally bring the two out and put each one in seperate cars and drive off. The officer who stayed behind approaches and informs my friend and her dad that those two squatters turned out to be thieves who have been breaking into nearby homes and realised this when he saw the cards on floor with an ID that belongs to a nearby neighbor whose report he took hours earlier.

Ah! Karens! So entertaining on videos. So annoying in real life. They expect everyone else to do things for them that they should be doing themselves. If someone is "working" then they must be an employee who regardless of how they are dressed. If Karen thinks you are employee you must do what she says or she has enough clout to get you fired. Karens always want to fire everyone. I think Karens watch too much fake "reality" TV.
Too bad coffee shop manager did not find out Karen's real name and where she worked in HR. He could have made a very good case with her employer that she made a poor impression of her company's HR and that Karen should be fired.

When I lived in Ottawa, we lived next to a family for several years. One winter, the Mom had a broken arm. There was LOTS of snow. I came walking down the sidewalk , on my way home from the bus stop, and caught her trying to shovel her driveway with one arm. It wasn't a big driveway, and it wasn't a lot of snow, but Ye Gods! I was so outraged! Se had two young teens who could have done it! Also, I ranted, as I shoveled, she should have gone to OUR door, knocked, and got my 6' tall brother to get up off of his lazy behind to do it for her!!! I let her know that it was her right, as a neighbor lady with one working arm, to come to us and get help. She was so self effacing, so darn NICE, it never occurred to her that she was ALLOWED to "bother" someone for help!
When I was finished shoveling her drive and walkway, I went home, stomped in to where my brother was sprawled in front of some game on TV, and ranted at HIM for not knowing that our neighbor with an arm in a cast needed help doing shoveling. He just blinked, grunted, and went back to staring at the TV. Sigh.

For the last 5 years, I've been shoveling the walkway of one of my neighbors. Her husband has passed away (he was an ass, she has always been very pleasant) and her son lived about an hour away. She can barely walk . . . shoveling, no freaking way. I never asked for money, she would only pay me when she could catch up to me (about $70 over 5 years). One year, a young couple at the corner of the block stooped me. "How come you clear her walk but not ours?"
"She's 78, uses a walker, is on oxygen, and her husband passed away. You, on the other hand are young, healthy, and you are in good shape." "But you use a snowblower!" "Because I'm 60, have a bad back, arthritis, and a bad knee. Clear your own damn walk."

I found this site a couple of days ago and have been doing a bit of binge watching. I'm enjoying the channel.
I think with this last one, however, there was a bit of confusion. The presenter stated that they were in Condos, so it may work the way he said, I don't know. However, the lady said she was 'paying rent.' If she was a renter, then I understand the confusion. I'm old and retired now, but I once owned apartments; in Colorado, Texas and elsewhere. For an apartment building -- not condos -- the Owner is legally responsible for clearing the sidewalks and driveways of snow, NOT the renters. If a renter slips and falls because of a lack in maintenance, the Owner CAN be sued and he will pay big time.
This might well be what they lady was expecting/use to. As I said, it may well be different for Condos -- where YOU actually own your "apartment" -- but she may have been unaware of it. Also, I was the "on sight" Manager and Maintenance for my apartments. (I spent my life in construction and doing it myself saved money) So living in one of the Condos did not necessarily mean (to her) that the presenter person did not work there too.
So this last one may well have simply been a misunderstanding. In Colorado and Texas, the person who actually owned the Condo she was renting would have been legally responsible for clearing the sidewalk, not her. Just FYI.

At about 10am I get a phone call from a female claiming that she had slipped and fallen on our sidewalk. But, she didn't then give me any info as to who she was. And, I had later checked and realized the only guy who had walked by, did not slip or fall.

Wow. ”I don't like people...”, you need to apply at Microsoft. You do not need to be working there. Judge much? Most of those people are more insightful than you because they know they have mental health issues. That's why they self-medicate. If you really wanted them to take care of their kids, you could try directing the venom at the people who have made accessing the mental health system so difficult for everyone but the one percent.

Sounds to me like YOU are the judging person here. I have already judged you, and I have already sentenced you!

Just curious - as I find the vids entertaining - why do you Americans ALWAYS start a sentence with "SO"?
