Maybe it was a calculated move to mislead the investigators. I mean, it sure did confuse me.
If you think about it, the person knew they were being recorded by CCTV and they put on a fake exaggerated walk and demeanor to put everyone's attention to those "details", when in reality it leads the viewer nowhere. My opinion is that they could've been a hired killer who knows how to deceive the authorities. They knew where Missy would be at what time, so they set up the charade, make it look inexplicable to investigators and leading them towards the funny walk the person had, which is a fake clue. It is quite genius, actually, but nonetheless evil. They also might've been involved in the outside cameras not working that night/morning.

What if they are actually left handed? Rather than having a “tired” or half-ass trying to use the hammer, it could be that they were masking their dominant hand. Using their right hand, the less used hand, they wouldn’t have as great movement than if they used with their dominant. They scouted out the area first, used a costume in case they needed a reason to be there, and everything seemed pretty thought through. Just a thought.

The husband being gone during this time means one of two things:
    1) the killer knew the husband was going to be away, or saw the husband leave, which means they were either stalking her or they knew her.
    2) the husband left to provide an alibi because he was somehow involved.
Personally I can't lean either way, as I don't have enough information to draw conclusion. What's obvious is that the killer, whoever they are, were probably either watching the victim and her social media for an extended period of time, or knew her.

@The Dark Side I'm just flabbergasted by how far the killer went. The swat costume, the half-hearted destruction of property... They knew there were cameras there, like they did it that way on purpose. I just got the feeling that whoever did it not only knew the area, but they most likely knew the victim and her family. They could have just as easily caught her as she was getting out of her car. But they didn't. This whole thing was too well thought out to be some random crazy person. To the point where they might even be faking a walk to incriminate someone else... It's just too weird.

I've never heard or seen anything about this case before, but the moment I saw the suspect, my first thought was: "oh it's a woman."
I don't think it's a contract killing, it's way too engaged. She spent time there, risking all sorts of anomalies, which is highly unlikely for a hired killer.
The person is also familiar with the church's layout; they are trying to make it seem otherwise, but there is clearly a familiarity; the roaming is more like being somewhere you are use to, but never before while it's empty....if that makes sense.
I think it will get solved. They may even have a suspect but no concrete evidence to make an arrest. It seems unlikely that they don't have any clues.

@@AnikoVargaMakeup Quite possibly or maybe she isn't use to wearing protective security gear or body armor and may not have positioned her bulletproof vest properly.
If she lives in the community, where did she get the gear and if she ordered it off line, how many companies sell such merchandise and ship them to this particular community??? I still think they have a suspect in mind.
I also think the motive for the murder is less about anything the victim did and more about some sort of mental obsession she had with the victim. She roamed those halls without a clear agenda, as though she thought "If she comes then I know what I need to do, but if she doesn't then, next time." There doesn't seem to be any heightened, plot to get it done and get out. Perhaps what makes this case all the more scary.

If she had been shot, it’d be more believable that she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But between the behavior of the suspect caught on film, and the fact that she was stabbed to death…this had to be planned. What kind of “robber” buys a full SWAT uniform but not a gun? And what kind of “robber” goes into a church of all places and spends about thirty minutes just sauntering around the place, not really making any effort to steal or vandalize? On top of all that, they essentially showed up right before her. That’s not a coincidence, and she made it public knowledge she was going to be there. My guess is this is linked to her affair somehow, or maybe she had a bad interaction with one of her students in her fitness class.

She was shot. It's in the police report. Police want to keep that quiet.. The forensic doctor who examined the perps walk saw the whole video. He said Missy is on video in a room, and she is listening and hearing the perp outside her room. That means the perp was not there to murder her. The perp would've been waiting quietly to ambush her not making noise.. I believe the perp's original plan was to rob the sporting goods store down the road but was spooked by the cars on the side of the building. Plan B was the church because it was early Monday and maybe perp thought collection would still be in the church.

I thought the opposite. I thought it was someone who had been there before. The way the suspect doesn't actually try to break through the doors seems like it's because they know about the cameras, and they want to appear to be someone who would have skills breaking locks. They also seemed to be making an awfully convincing attempt to look around. If they were actually looking around for 45 minutes, they would have seen a camera. There were several, and the vast majority of cameras aren't difficult to see. In part, that's why this feels so odd; it's why the person is intriguing. Because they aren't actually doing anything most of the time they're there. They're not doing anything because they're trying to make it seem like they're familiarizing themselves with the surroundings and/or casing the place.
I really think it's someone familiar with the church and trying to look unfamiliar, and I think it was someone targeting Missy too.

ALSO, while obviously being a bit on the bigger side, (and again without the actual attack video) I think a female would of had a rough time with that woman....she strikes me as strong along with a high fitness level.
A male that size would have little issue if able to corner her....all that can go out the window if the first strike was a bad one that really hurt her.

@@whitneyangelie3682 Good point about how women could have a motive too. I did rewatch the video however, and I still strongly feel like the gait belongs to an older man. They kind of walk like my dad, and some of the older male customers I've gotten into my retail store. I think the sway of the hips comes from having an injured leg, and them having to adjust how they walk to accommodate for pain or range of mobility. I will say however if it is a woman, its a more masculine woman. That walk is not feminine at all, its very masculine.
Edit: i notice people mentioning the strength of the person as to why its a woman, but honestly I think they just weren't trying combined with being older (like the dads age).

And yea, it does look like a bigger (definitely not dainty) woman who’s trying to come across as manly as possible to fool the cameras (this person definitely knew they were on camera, I think they’re familiar with this particular church). But even though they’re trying to move like a man, and the SWAT gear really helps with that , too, there’s just these feminine mannerisms that slip out-and in one angle it almost looks like the person is holding up their chest the way a woman with breasts does. That, paired with a lack of sexual assault really makes me err on the side of this being a jealous, obsessed female that did this to Missy… Did you ever hear the case of Mary Jane Fonder who shot and killed Rhonda Smith (also in a church funny enough)? I believe it’s that kind of thing 🤷🏻‍♀️.

"Who would honestly break into a church expecting anything of value" you ask? Lots of people. Churches collect MONEY from parishioners, especially Christian denominations with their collection plates. Yes, it's often in a safe, or deposited into a bank, but a small church might not go to the bank every day and might have cash on the premises.
Also, churches have computers, sometimes job centers and/or study rooms for children and adolescents that have computers in them. I mean, they're not souped-up, top-of-the-line gaming PCs or laptops, but to someone desperate for money they have value. They also have copper piping in many cases, and you'd be surprised how many places open up for the day only to find their walls torn open and their valuable copper pipes missing. There's also clothing, books, food, you name it. It depends on your brand of desperation, but churches always have something of value.

I'm not good at this, but I'm trying to piece what I'm seeing together.
    - it looks like the suspect's right foot dominant, though the range of motion is small, the right foot felt more controlled. Someone mentioned a prosthetic leg, I can agree with that.
    - Premeditated? absolutely. There are plenty of places to break into, why a church? why not the gun shop? Nothing stolen, it's all just too coincidental.
    - Male or Female. I'm not convinced on female. Assuming their bust and backsides are on the flatter end, Something about the walk still just says overweight older Male to me.
    - Something that i could just be tricking myself to see, at 6:39 when they are shocked by the dutch door. you notice their face around their eyes a bit, definitely whiter skinned than the Father-in law. Brandon's skin looked about the same complexion which is all the more frustrating on his alibi...
    - The alibi.. The only confirmation of the fishing trip was due to GPS pings. Was there no one else to confirm the husband's count, was it only the cell phone? If so, that can be forged. Though it's likely not the case, it is possible. Maybe I'm going down the road of confirmation bias, but the husband still sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

Of the millions of people who could be the suspect, you're really trying to make it this particular one person; and largely because he's one of only a very few who you were introduced to in the context of the case. I personally think this was a planned attack. The amount of puncture wounds/placement shows that this was personal so either it was the husband, the guy she was having an affair with, or maybe the other guy's spurned lover. Is there any proof beyond the cellphone tracking for the husband? He could have left his phone in the fishing area and made the drive back and gone unnoticed. There have been several murders where it took a while for the lover/spouse to be arrested because they left their phone in another location to back up their alibi. As for the killer's walk, the fact that they seem to drag their feet at times, suggest that they added weight to it so that it completely changes their stride. And possibly, to hide the true shoe size should a footprint be left behind/the camera could scale it. Also, I think the reason the killer didn't seem interested in vandalizing the Church is because they were just messing around while they waited. They were just killing time until Missy arrived. Just the ease with which they move, they looked like they knew they wouldn't be bothered until Missy arrived.

They had faith in their disguise to help them not be found out (whether it be oversized shoes and their main characteristics being covered up... the walk may have even been fake knowing they were on camera inside), but didn't want their car to be seen. Also, I am sure in order to have that event at the church, the pastor would have to know about it and give permission. They would have given permission, known when they would be there, and have access to the security cameras to turn off the outside ones. They need to investigate the pastor of the church. What are the chances that her killer has the same walk/gait as her father in law? His dog may have been in a fight, but how was the blood tested after it was dry cleaned...or after police verified with the vet that his dog came in, did they just assume? How well was his alibi looked into? Could it have been someone else using his credentials? When you check into a hotel, how often do they look at the picture on your id...when you get on a plane, they check everything but they dont check the picture on your id in detail. I would be interested to know if they merely verified that he was in CA based on a paper trail or did they have survailence video of him boarding the plane both too/from. It's also an unlikely coincidence that both her husband and father in law left the day before her murder. there is a video put out by an expert that analyzes the body movements specific to the killer and her father in law. I'm not an expert nor do I really know if the guy is, but he still points out subtle things, aside from the obvious that are irrefutable. Can two people have the exact same subtle movements? if so, it's too close of a coincidence and if not, it has to be the father in law.
love your channel by the way 😁

You just spelled out everything Im thinking with this case. I really believe its the father in law. How hard did they look at his alibi was my big question also.

I live in Dallas and this was on the local TV news and articles were printed in the Dallas Morning News. My understanding is that the dry cleaners did not dry clean the father inlaw's shirt, but notified law enforcement authorities. The blood on the shirt was tested and proved to be from a knine.

Hubby was "away on a fishing trip". Oldest alibi in the book. He had all the motives in my opinion. My guess is someone the husband hired or knew. She had multiple stab wounds on her head and chest - that's personal. And this was a physically fit lady. My guess is it was a man, and he surprise attacked her. This looks like a "hit" job. He also appeared to know how to use the equipment he had on him, didn't seem to fumble about with it. I agree he was trying to make it appear like the church had been ransacked.

Cellphones have GPS location. He was placed at his fishing spot by the location records on his phone. The suspects also didn't "know what they were doing" as evidenced by their surprise at the Dutch door and the limp wristed way they swung that crowbar. It also doesn't look anything like a "hit". A "hit" would be short, sweet, and to the point. You need to lay off the Lifetime Channel and stick to your day job.

I disagree, her family knew that she had a conceal carry permit so why whould they hire a hitman to kill her with a hammer or a knife they whould definately had instructed them to use a fireman and her fb was public and she shared her class timimg on it the killer whould have known her location from it. And btw it was speculated that Missy had an affair so maybe the wife/gf of the person she was seeing at that time killed her out of rage because the gait and mannerism shown in the footage suggests a female.

This was personal and well-planned, it was calmly carried out and the person on the video is almost certainly well known to everyone close to the family, Randy has the walk and there is no one else (like a jealous wife) who has been mentioned and a random break-in on a rainy night is ridiculous.
Brandon and Randy planned it and Randy carried it out, I don't know how solid his alibi is but I'd bet a big buck or two that Randy was under that SWAT gear.

Most of all, the walks aren't even the same...
Walking with the feet pointed out is pretty common, indeed, especially for men. But what makes the murderer's walk special is how stiff their legs are. Their knees aren't bending most of the time, that's not common at all. Randy was bending his knees when walking. Just because they both walk with their feet towards the outside doesn't make their walks "the same", I don't know why so many are claiming that.
