It certainly sounds like he planned to kill Stephen, otherwise why break from pattern. He brought a gun and drove him to a secluded location, from the sound of it both were unusual. I feel bad for Evette as she got drug into this by someone she already feared and the new fear and guilt ate at her for months. I think her confessing to her friend was her way of trying to out from under her ex. People that destroy other people's lives like this don't deserve mercy from the justice system. I can only hope Evette and the others he put through this can recover in time.
Why would he even bring a gun with him to sell his friend pot in the first place? Or drive out into the middle of nowhere to do it? Feels pretty premeditated to me..

When my brother used to buy the dealers were strangers and he would carry a gun but if its between you and a friend then there is no use bringing a gun
trust me. i hate the phrase as well but, sometimes people truly do things in the moment. (not saying this case) and it may lead to the person that took the other person's life; to miss them as well.
She helped to chop up and hide a body, didn't even come forward with the information herself, and got off with just ONE year in jail? Insane. She clearly had no real remorse since she thought it'd be a 'cool', 'fun' thing to mention to her friends as a dare. A person capable of doing even just one of those things deserves a much harsher sentence.
Small towns are like that. Her family is probably big, well known, and respected in that community. The Judge, district attorney, and sherrif are all elected by those same people. It's called "pull" where i come from.
Yea well be that as it may the crimes she committed by law carry sentences around that length of time. If it was a first time offense judges are often shackled by sentencing they are allowed to give out.

"Innocent until proven guilty" is a thing in this country. If someone isn't a threat to themselves or others, they shouldn't be punished until they are convicted.
That's horrible. But a good idea for a novel or movies. Show the friend changing through the years but able to hide it from most, except the girls he beat.
That's scary to think about, especially if your me with a minor history of paranoid schizophrenia. I once used to have thoughts of those around me betraying or killing me and once had a dream that two of my best friends since 5th grade were beating on me and laughing. It actually traumatized me for awhile and I refused to text them until I convinced myself I was safe and they were my friends. Scary stuff, and it's stuff like this that kind of feeds the paranoia.
What teenagers do a weed deal in the middle of nowhere and with a gun? More like the back of a Walmart parking lot, with a “thanks bro” and then a trip to grab some Takis. They aren’t that slick and they aren’t selling enough weed to necessitate a gun. This was definitely premeditated.
Different places, different people, different vibes. In Singapore, you can be put to death for possessing weed let alone selling it. I can see what you mean but this was 2016, weed wasn't legal in Michigan till 2018. And who knows how the cops treated them. I sold weed in canada during early 2000 when it was illegal. And even as nice as Canada is, weed deals went down pretty much like this.
being autistic myself (Asperger too), seeing Stephen being so open, social in his way, and loving art make me even more sad over he's no longer here.. he managed to overcome so much, start his dreams, and living life, so knowing she got that easy off is horrible! My son with autism is very much loved. Every bit as much as his sisters. He has his own gifts to share, and I hope that everyone else with autism feels wanted. RIP Stephen.
I hate when a MURDERER blames the victim by saying “they attacked me”. Why take a gun to meet a friend? He planned on killing him that night. The girlfriend should’ve been sent to jail for YEARS!! She let Stephen’s family suffer not knowing what happened to him and said nothing. I hope no matter where she moves to that people learn what she did and what type of person she is.

I definitely agree. And what you described is correct for suburban kids. The guys that sell it on the corners....they play for higher stakes and are quite a bit more serious about it. I know, I used to have them in my cab and they had no problem saying anything in front of me. I'm guessing biker gangs are the same way.
What a senseless murder and tragic loss of life! Andrew sounded very jealous of Stephen and the fact that everyone liked him because he was so good and kind. I believe he should've been charged with first degree murder personally.
I think her sentence and the way the police treated the female accomplice was way too lenient and biased towards her. Like why should they care if she can finish school in time? Stephen was killed and she knew and helped dismembered him >.
Id say there's a lot of details that we havent been told. Such as the extent of the abuse in the relationship and potential neuro-divergency that may play a role in how easy she was to manipulate. Not excusing her actions but all factors are important when analysing these things

She revealed information about the murder like it was interesting gossip. I'm glad that as soon as the friend heard Eevette's story she didn't ignore it or play it off but went straight to the police, which lead to Stephen's family getting closure. That doesn't always happen.

Early intervention is the key! Check into local services for your daughter. My son started therapy at 2 and a half. He went through school and exited special Ed in the 8th grade...went to HS then college where he worked for TWO bachelors degrees at the same time. His GPA was the highest of all my sons (he's a triplet). He's 33, lives his own life, pays his bills, drives, the whole shebang! I'm so proud of him...well all my sons really! Love and routine do best with Aspy kiddos. You got this mama!!! 😊
As someone with autism, I get really scared when I hear about autistic people committing crimes or just being bad people. It makes me scared people will think everyone who has it is a monster..
Thank God Eevette's friend thought, "Oh, fuck this" and went to the cops. The poor family at least has something to bury and visit of Stephen. What a sad story.
Evette now has to look over her shoulders because a woman that beheaded a crops sat in prison for a year because of her. once you cross a certain line, it is much easier to cross it again, or go even further.

The case was only resolved because she CONFESSED. the friends testimony could have been brushed off as gossip and the case would not have been resolved

I went to Arts Academy and while I didn’t really know Stephen, a lot of my friends were good friends of his. I remember watching the trial when it was live on Facebook and it just shook me to the core. Rest In Peace Stephen. I wish we could’ve seen what a great person like him would be doing with his life today.

I love the way you present these cases. You don’t present them in a salacious way, you show genuine care for the victims of these crimes and that’s so rare here on RUclips. I watch A LOT of true crime RUclipsrs and as much as I like the cases they share (especially when the perpetrators get what’s due them) some of them are clearly going for shock value for views and ignore the suffering of the victims, their families and loved ones. I’m sure it was your caring nature which led Stephen’s friend to reach out to you to present his story. Never stop expressing kindness when you share these stories. This is what makes you unique in the mire of this platform.

Ikr. Since he was got shot in the stomach, there was actually a chance he would survive by preventing the bleeding... wall, that is, if his "friend" was indeed intentioned not to kill him.
@@midoribookstore Not entirely zero I think. It depends on the type of the bullet, and where it hits, since stomach is a quite large body part. So long you stopped the bleeding with shirt or simply hand pressure to the wound to prevent blood leaking, and immediately call the ambulance or something, the chance of survival is not zero. Just don't lose hope, even when the result will be futile, at least we are struggling for something, instead of "Forget it. He's done for." and do nothing.

Me and him seem to have a lot of similarities the reason I say that is because I myself have High Functioning Autism and Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism are the same thing accept that they are a little different from each other as they are both on the spectrum of Autism. Stephen was also held not only at the Memorial but also The Autism Memorial too.

This is crazy. When to school with this guy and he was a cool dude. We ain’t talk too much but sat next to each other in a couple classes. After hearing he was missing and ended up unfortunately murdered, me and the rest of the school followed the case heavily. Rest In Peace Stephen, you will be missed.

Being convicted of second degree murder and being sentenced to 50-70 years is a lot better than not being convicted of first degree murder because the prosecution can't prove it was premeditated. Prosecutors go for the most severe charges that they think will stick, not just the ones that could potentially bring the longest sentence.
What are you going on about smh prosecutors base the charges on the evidence, testimonies, and what led to the murder such as intent and deliberation, not just premeditation plays a factor and first-degree murder charges. It shouldn't have been that difficult to ask Andrew why he even had a gun on him to sell pot to his "best" friend. So Stephen refused to pay and they get in fight over it? Somehow Stephen managed to get the gun and yet still ends up getting shot 3 times? And oh yeah, shot 3 times, front and back of the head but it's self-defense. Why did Andrew call his ex to help get rid of a body if it was self-defense? Why take Stephen's stuff? Why lie twice when being questioned? Why put up a fake FB post hoping Stephen returns home if he knows he's dead? And he didn't just bury Stephen's body right after he's dead. No, he waited some time to recruit his ex to assist after creepily asking her to share how she'd feel if Stephen had died.. Then waited some more to actually chop his body up so the area he took Stephen wasn't frequented, no fear of anyone coming by and discovering his corpse. You know who does all of this? Someone who planned to murder someone.
@@nOt24seven You’re citing a lot of stuff that happened after and could be argued against it being planned. Wouldn’t he have planned how to dispose of the body if it was premeditation? Wouldn’t he have picked an accomplice he could already be sure of, rather than having to feel out how his GF felt? I agree he probably planned it, but not beyond a reasonable doubt. Maybe he was packing because he spent time with sketchy people, then they got in a fight and he had to shoot in self defense. That is a reasonable conclusion given all the evidence. (Which unfortunately is so little because of the amount of time that had passed.) Not having to argue over whether or not it was planned meant the prosecution could focus instead just on proving that he had done it, which was enough of a battle given, again, the limited amount of forensic evidence.
I knew both Stephen and Andrew, Stephen was an absolute sweetheart.. Andrew on the other hand, always gave me a weird/bad feeling. He just seemed like a sketchy dude. This whole thing was absolutely horrifying. Evette got off far too easy, I don’t even think this is going to be on her record. Meanwhile people gets years and a record from marijuana. The system in America is so backwards.

It's hard to find commentary channels that do not sensationalize or are over dramatic in their reactions. Also way to many input their opinions and muddy the facts of the case. I love how in this case not only does he present clear cut facts but is supper informative in a way anyone can understand and is also super respectful and tactful about. Thank you for covering this case. I live at 34 and Van Dyke where his body was found. He was literally found a few football fields away from my house. It disturbs me damn near every day thinking that I most likely heard that gunshot that night and that the poor boy was just lying in that field for so long and no one found him. A lot of people have asked why no one found him sooner or reported the gunshots but this area is pretty much all heavily forested private property and unless you were specifically looking, you would never come across him. Hunting is also very common around here. We hear gunshots all of the time at all times of day, whether it be hunters or just people on their properties firing a gun off at groundhogs. I was completely consumed by this case because my brother was friends with Stephen and was worried about him for a year. The fact that there is still no real motive is confusing for everyone. Drew throws out motives left and right but none of them really make sense. Personally I think the kid just wanted to kill someone. They’ve said it’s over Eevette, they’ve said it was over drugs, but I just don’t buy any of that. Kid is a monster. RIP Stephen, I hope you and your family find some peace eventually.
Also if Stephen was “attacking” him, why was he shot in the back? Just doesn’t make sense. Kid’s just cold blooded. I went back onto his old RUclips channel when the news first broke and he had tons of videos driving past the 34 mile area just sitting in his truck, listening to music, and smoking. No other context to the videos. Pretty sure that was his way of hinting where Stephen was killed. Not sure if the videos are still up but Andrew and Stephen had tons of videos together on the channel, too. It’s so sad.
The craziest part of the story is that the girlfriend helped him chop up and dispose of the body... it doesn't make any sense. It certainly seems like the murder was premeditated, and I wouldn't be surprised if she had something to do with it as well.

A girl I used to work with named Leah went missing in a town in England called Milton Keynes about 2 or 3 years ago and she still hasn't been found... there were billboards and posters everywhere for her. I hope they figure out what happened and hope she's okay. As much as I love these videos I wouldn't want her to end up in one of these 😢
please reach out to true crime channels to cover her case. you never know just who theses videos might reach, maybe if the right person see a vido, they might come forward. Andrew’s story seemed fake the moment he claimed HE drove someone 32miles and that he was attacked then. I don’t know of anyone who would attack someone in a place they didn’t drive to, much less if you don’t even know how to drive, the attacker wouldn’t have any escape path so it doesn’t seem likely at all.

I really don’t believe that Andrew has High Functioning Autism because people who have Autism or High Functioning Autism are not that extreme in killing people and also some people really need to stop spreading false information about some people who have Autism killing other people it’s really sickening.
@@maribivenus457 yes and I have High Functioning Autism too and also the victim Stephen has Asperger Syndrome which is a form of Autism and it is High Functioning Autism and Andrew who is the suspect don’t have High Functioning Autism he just have Mental Health Problems and that’s different than having High Functioning Autism. High Functioning Autism still has something to do with developing while Asperger Syndrome is already on High Functioning Autism that’s the similarities and differences between both of them.

I love your channel, so well done. I have a friend from school that was murdered by her best friend/roommate then she was dumped in a river. She was only 18. This was in Chicago in the 1980's. Her name was Laura Howard. I remember her so much because she was one of the few girls in school who didn't bully me, and defended me from them. In spite of her personal struggles, she was a very kind soul and I still miss her. 😞
Did the Jury think they needed a confession to prove premeditation? Bringing a gun to meet a friend in the woods and then killing them should suffice, especially when his self-defense cover story was proven to be false.
These were the jury instructions for 2nd degree murder. It fits the scenario you just gave, doesn't it? First, that the defendant caused the death of Stephen McAfee; that is, that Stephen McAfee died as a result of gunshot wounds to the head. Second, that the defendant had one of these three states of mind, he intended to kill, or he intended to do great bodily harm to Stephen McAfee, or he knowingly created a very high risk of death.
Lol, "emotional issues" is a huge understatement. I get the feeling andrew had a hidden growing resentment towards Stephen. he saw how well liked/successful he was. andrew and his emotional issues got jealous.
From the information we know about Stephen's character, I find it hard to believe that he would attack Andrew. If he was buying weed from Andrew (which I highly doubt, considering how Andrew tried to cover his tracks with lies, plus his "self defense" plea was found to be bullshit), he seemed like the type of person to use recreational drugs in the safest way possible, so why would he attack his dealer? I'm thoroughly disgusted by the sentence Eevette recieved. She should've done as much time as Andrew. Why does her life get to continue when she maliciously aided in the concealment of Stephen's wherabouts? She kept it hidden for a year. A year is enough time for the human body to liquify completely until all that's left is bones and mush. Stephen's family didn't get to have that final moment with a face they would recognized. I hope Eevette has been socially outcasted and has to live forever alone. I hope Andrew rots in his cell. And I hope Stephen is resting in paradise. The world lost such a bright spark, but your flame will never be truly blown out, Stephen.

this happened in the town i grew up in. i remember the first time seeing his missing poster come across my facebook feed. stephen and i had a lot of mutual friends from the school he attended. he reminded me of my own little brother. i followed this case so closely from beginning to end. it really shook our area.
Incredibly sad story. So many of us have a Steven like friend in our group. The one who doesnt bother anyone and gets along with everyone. The kind of friend you remember even after years of being apart after highschool.
I grew up in my middle school and high school years around Steven. He was a really great guy and unbelievably nice. To hear of what happened was a major shock to everyone. He was a great guy and he didnt deserve what he got. Rest in peace steven. We miss you

This is such a sad and heartbreaking case. Stephen was a beautiful and kind young man and deserved to live his life to the fullest. I cannot stop thinking about his case. Killed by someone he should have been able to trust. I hope Andrew suffers for the rest of his life, riddled with guilt. In my opinion I think the girl should have had the same sentence as Andrew. Poor Stephen. He deserved better than this.

I know I’m late commenting on this video but, as an Oakland County Resident (Macomb County’s Next Door Neighbor) who recently discovered your videos, thank you for covering this case! Somehow I haven’t heard about this case and is such a tragic story, especially knowing there are still remains undiscovered. You did a great job setting the scene of the area and how life is here, besides the honest mistake of Lake Michigan being next to Macomb County. Lake St. Clair leads out to Lake Huron and should honestly be a Great Lake itself for the size of it. It’s really a great and beautiful place to live in South East Michigan. Cannot believe such a grizzly crime was committed out here. Thank you for bringing light to this case!

It disgusts me that someone as awful as the female was allowed out on parole to complete schooling and then was only charged with a single year and probation for the heinous acts she committed. Why weren't these disturbed monsters locked up and the key thrown away? In comparison, look at all the people serving decades for possessing, sometimes allegedly, a single joint. Yes, the murderer should have received a harsher penalty. The justice system is broken.

He may also be a sociopath so he doesnt really feel much or anything. A non sociopath killer would have picked a random stranger, not a friend -some who a normal person would have developed long term emotional bonds with not to want to harm. Sociopaths on the other hand dont give a sh..it. They never really develop any bond with anyone.

I feel like any time a possible suspect posts/says something along the lines of, "I wish I knew where he was, I would definitely tell the police", they may as well be using one of those t-shirt launchers to hurl red flags at authorities.
His story doesn't make sense to me at all. For one, we knew Stephen couldn't drive so Andrew said he picked him up. I don't think many people are going to try and steal from someone that they used for a ride. Unless Stephen was planning on walking home, then I think he probably would've waited until Andrew drive him back or at least closer to his house. PLUS why would Andrew have brought a gun in the 1st place? Why would he have ever throught he needed a gun if he was going to sell to his long time friend? Unless they had been fighting or something in the time before this all happened, otherwise no one thinks that way. I don't decide to bring a gun when I'm going to meet up with a friend (on ANY occasion). Idk why he thought anyone would believe this story.

It certainly sounds like he planned to kill Stephen, otherwise why break from pattern. He brought a gun and drove him to a secluded location, from the sound of it both were unusual. I feel bad for Evette as she got drug into this by someone she already feared and the new fear and guilt ate at her for months. I think her confessing to her friend was her way of trying to out from under her ex.

Just be patient with her. We DO try our best, but we often get overwhelmed and that makes us shut down, if not slow down.
Early intervention is the key! Check into local services for your daughter. My son started therapy at 2 and a half. He went through school and exited special Ed in the 8th grade...went to HS then college where he worked for TWO bachelors degrees at the same time. His GPA was the highest of all my sons (he's a triplet). He's 33, lives his own life, pays his bills, drives, the whole shebang! I'm so proud of him...well all my sons really! Love and routine do best with Aspy kiddos. You got this mama!!! 😊

I went to Arts Academy and while I didn’t really know Stephen, a lot of my friends were good friends of his. I remember watching the trial when it was live on Facebook and it just shook me to the core. Rest In Peace Stephen. I love the way you present these cases. You don’t present them in a salacious way, you show genuine care for the victims of these crimes and that’s so rare here on RUclips. I watch A LOT of true crime RUclipsrs and as much as I like the cases they share (especially when the perpetrators get what’s due them) some of them are clearly going for shock value for views and ignore the suffering of the victims, their families and loved ones. I’m sure it was your caring nature which led Stephen’s friend to reach out to you to present his story. Never stop expressing kindness when you share these stories. This is what makes you unique in the mire of this platform.

So long you stopped the bleeding with shirt or simply hand pressure to the wound to prevent blood leaking, and immediately call the ambulance or something, the chance of survival is not zero. Just don't lose hope, even when the result will be futile, at least we are struggling for something, instead of "Forget it. He's done for." and do nothing.

Me and him seem to have a lot of similarities the reason I say that is because I myself have High Functioning Autism and Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism are the same thing accept that they are a little different from each other as they are both on the spectrum of Autism. Stephen was also held not only at the Memorial but also The Autism Memorial too.

This is crazy. When to school with this guy and he was a cool dude. We ain’t talk too much but sat next to each other in a couple classes. After hearing he was missing and ended up unfortunately murdered, me and the rest of the school followed the case heavily. Rest In Peace Stephen, you will be missed.

Being convicted of second degree murder and being sentenced to 50-70 years is a lot better than not being convicted of first degree murder because the prosecution can't prove it was premeditated. Prosecutors go for the most severe charges that they think will stick, not just the ones that could potentially bring the longest sentence.
What are you going on about smh prosecutors base the charges on the evidence, testimonies, and what led to the murder such as intent and deliberation, not just premeditation plays a factor and first-degree murder charges. It shouldn't have been that difficult to ask Andrew why he even had a gun on him to sell pot to his "best" friend. So Stephen refused to pay and they get in fight over it? Somehow Stephen managed to get the gun and yet still ends up getting shot 3 times? And oh yeah, shot 3 times, front and back of the head but it's self-defense. Why did Andrew call his ex to help get rid of a body if it was self-defense? Why take Stephen's stuff? Why lie twice when being questioned? Why put up a fake FB post hoping Stephen returns home if he knows he's dead? And he didn't just bury Stephen's body right after he's dead. No, he waited some time to recruit his ex to assist after creepily asking her to share how she'd feel if Stephen had died.. Then waited some more to actually chop his body up so the area he took Stephen wasn't frequented, no fear of anyone coming by and discovering his corpse. You know who does all of this? Someone who planned to murder someone.
@@nOt24seven You’re citing a lot of stuff that happened after and could be argued against it being planned. Wouldn’t he have planned how to dispose of the body if it was premeditation? Wouldn’t he have picked an accomplice he could already be sure of, rather than having to feel out how his GF felt? I agree he probably planned it, but not beyond a reasonable doubt. Maybe he was packing because he spent time with sketchy people, then they got in a fight and he had to shoot in self defense. That is a reasonable conclusion given all the evidence. (Which unfortunately is so little because of the amount of time that had passed.) Not having to argue over whether or not it was planned meant the prosecution could focus instead just on proving that he had done it, which was enough of a battle given, again, the limited amount of forensic evidence.

I knew both Stephen and Andrew, Stephen was an absolute sweetheart.. Andrew on the other hand, always gave me a weird/bad feeling. He just seemed like a sketchy dude. Thank you for covering this case. I live at 34 and Van Dyke where his body was found. He was literally found a few football fields away from my house. It disturbs me damn near every day thinking that I most likely heard that gunshot that night and that the poor boy was just lying in that field for so long and no one found him.
A lot of people have asked why no one found him sooner or reported the gunshots but this area is pretty much all heavily forested private property and unless you were specifically looking, you would never come across him. Hunting is also very common around here. We hear gunshots all of the time at all times of day, whether it be hunters or just people on their properties firing a gun off at groundhogs.
I was completely consumed by this case because my brother was friends with Stephen and was worried about him for a year. The fact that there is still no real motive is confusing for everyone. Drew throws out motives left and right but none of them really make sense. Personally I think the kid just wanted to kill someone. They’ve said it’s over Eevette, they’ve said it was over drugs, but I just don’t buy any of that. Kid is a monster.

I went back onto his old RUclips channel when the news first broke and he had tons of videos driving past the 34 mile area just sitting in his truck, listening to music, and smoking. No other context to the videos. Pretty sure that was his way of hinting where Stephen was killed.

A girl I used to work with named Leah went missing in a town in England called Milton Keynes about 2 or 3 years ago and she still hasn't been found... there were billboards and posters everywhere for her. I hope they figure out what happened and hope she's okay. As much as I love these videos I wouldn't want her to end up in one of these 😢

Andrew’s story seemed fake the moment he claimed HE drove someone 32miles and that he was attacked then. I don’t know of anyone who would attack someone in a place they didn’t drive to, much less if you don’t even know how to drive, the attacker wouldn’t have any escape path so it doesn’t seem likely at all.

This was in Chicago in the 1980's. Her name was Laura Howard.
I remember her so much because she was one of the few girls in school who didn't bully me, and defended me from them. In spite of her personal struggles, she was a very kind soul and I still miss her. 😞

Did the Jury think they needed a confession to prove premeditation? Bringing a gun to meet a friend in the woods and then killing them should suffice, especially when his self-defense cover story was proven to be false.
Possessing a gun doesn't prove premeditation. It's completely legal to carry a gun.
These were the jury instructions for 2nd degree murder. It fits the scenario you just gave, doesn't it?
First, that the defendant caused the death of Stephen McAfee; that is, that Stephen McAfee died as a result of gunshot wounds to the head. Second, that the defendant had one of these three states of mind, he intended to kill, or he intended to do great bodily harm to Stephen McAfee, or he knowingly created a very high risk of death.
Lol, "emotional issues" is a huge understatement. I get the feeling andrew had a hidden growing resentment towards Stephen. he saw how well liked/successful he was. andrew and his emotional issues got jealous.
From the information we know about Stephen's character, I find it hard to believe that he would attack Andrew. If he was buying weed from Andrew (which I highly doubt, considering how Andrew tried to cover his tracks with lies, plus his "self defense" plea was found to be bullshit), he seemed like the type of person to use recreational drugs in the safest way possible, so why would he attack his dealer?
I'm thoroughly disgusted by the sentence Eevette recieved. She should've done as much time as Andrew. Why does her life get to continue when she maliciously aided in the concealment of Stephen's wherabouts? She kept it hidden for a year. A year is enough time for the human body to liquify completely until all that's left is bones and mush. Stephen's family didn't get to have that final moment with a face they would recognized.
I hope Eevette has been socially outcasted and has to live forever alone. I hope Andrew rots in his cell. And I hope Stephen is resting in paradise. The world lost such a bright spark, but your flame will never be truly blown out, Stephen.

this happened in the town i grew up in. i remember the first time seeing his missing poster come across my facebook feed. stephen and i had a lot of
mutual friends from the school he attended. he reminded me of my own little brother. i followed this case so closely from beginning to end. it really shook our area.

I know I’m late commenting on this video but, as an Oakland County Resident (Macomb County’s Next Door Neighbor) who recently discovered your videos, thank you for covering this case! Somehow I haven’t heard about this case and is such a tragic story, especially knowing there are still remains undiscovered.
You did a great job setting the scene of the area and how life is here, besides the honest mistake of Lake Michigan being next to Macomb County. Lake St. Clair leads out to Lake Huron and should honestly be a Great Lake itself for the size of it. It’s really a great and beautiful place to live in South East Michigan. Cannot believe such a grizzly crime was committed out here.

It disgusts me that someone as awful as the female was allowed out on parole to complete schooling and then was only charged with a single year and probation for the heinous acts she committed. Why weren't these disturbed monsters locked up and the key thrown away? In comparison, look at all the people serving decades for possessing, sometimes allegedly, a single joint. Yes, the murderer should have received a harsher penalty. The justice system is broken.

Probably just another bored teenager who thought it may be fun or exciting to kill someone else. Sometimes the answers are as just as banal as that. He may also be a sociopath so he doesnt really feel much or anything. A non sociopath killer would have picked a random stranger, not a friend -some who a normal person would have developed long term emotional bonds with not to want to harm. Sociopaths on the other hand dont give a sh..it. They never really develop any bond with anyone.
I knew Steven as a kid had the same classes and we grow up and eventually grow apart I wish we could've been closer it moves me that's he won't be forgotten thank you Coffeehouse

His story doesn't make sense to me at all. For one, we knew Stephen couldn't drive so Andrew said he picked him up. I don't think many people are going to try and steal from someone that they used for a ride. Unless Stephen was planning on walking home, then I think he probably would've waited until Andrew drive him back or at least closer to his house. PLUS why would Andrew have brought a gun in the 1st place? Why would he have ever throught he needed a gun if he was going to sell to his long time friend? Unless they had been fighting or something in the time before this all happened, otherwise no one thinks that way. I don't decide to bring a gun when I'm going to meet up with a friend (on ANY occasion). Idk why he thought anyone would believe this story.
