One more tip, if you are low on fuel, and no fuel discoveries left, just go to the citadel. It will automatically refill your tank when you dock. Edit: this tip is for ME3 only.
wait really, I never knew that, I always wondered how someone would get more fuel if they had no money, I thought they'd just get soft-locked or something
I always pick up my fuel asset AFTER I return to the Mass Relay system. That way I never waste a fuel asset when I have a full tank. I’ve never run out.
Tbh I'm kinda terrified of them, cuz I've got a pretty good sound system, play late at night, and my sister's room is next door. I'm constantly anxious that the next explosion will warrant a text to turn it down, and then I feel bad for waking her up. 😂
For the scanning thing, if you listen the Normandy makes a ping sound when you pass over something of interest (like when you fly over a planet) makes it way easier to find the fuel wrecks without hitting the scanner right away
UPDATE Do all the flashing missions on the galaxy map. Talk to Hackett before the cerberus raid. If he says "the forces are as good as their going to get, thanks commander" you can get all endings. I had 69(nice)00 assets and got it.
When you're avoiding reapers while scanning, your ship usually re-enters a system on the opposite side from where it left. Use this to your advantage to move so you re-enter as close to scanned items as possible.
You can control WHERE you enter the system by pointing the nose of the Normandy in the opposite direction of where you want to enter. For example: if you want to enter from the south point the Normandy north. Have fun!
My tip for ME3 check every corner of every location and walk up to every person you see you never know what will be a quest or a quest turn in, also check the citadel more frequently than the other games because it changes with most the main story quests
Tip for vanguard players: Use the Talon pistol. it is a pocket shotgun. I recommend just having this equipped and using the barrel mod and armor piercing mod. this will give you the 200% recharge rate and give you a decent weapon. It is unlocked during/after Priority: The Citadel II, found in the locked room in the c-sec building just before going to the salarian councilor's office, terminal to unlock the room is on the opposite side of the hallway, no clue who sells it after the mission Also a tip for insanity playthroughs, build Garrus for assault rifle damage, max damage with shredder ammo, and give him the N7 Typhon.
I'm in the last third of ME2 and I have to say I've enjoyed it so much more than the first. It feels so much bigger with the multiple hubs, bigger squad and far more missions. The side content on planets feels more fleshed out, I've got no love for pointless vehicle exploration and that firewalker vehicle stuff is boring. I hope the next ME goes back to the focus of ME2 and 3, open world stuff isn't neccesary.

Only lost one squadmate. Jack. She wasn't loyal though and that makes a difference. ME3 is amazing so far.
@@cmac8141 I decided to hold off on ME3 and go through ME2 again. This time as a renegade because...well I've honestly never played a bad guy in a video game before. Plus ME2 is awesome. I'll follow your lead and finish those missions. Thanks.
I made a map of all the systems that had stuff in them so that when I scan, I know where to scan. This greatly reduces the chances of reaper invasions. Also if you spawn the reapers in a system, just do a mission and they will reset. The most war points I’ve gotten is 8100 roughly.
As someone who’s played the original trilogy games 15+ each thank you for doing this for newcomers, props respect and tell people to Google the pdf checklists they will greatly benefit new players.
I know it wasn't the point of the video, but I way prefer the relative linearity of ME3's main quests. It allows each mission to meaningfully impact the next stage of the story. ME2 in particular felt like an anthology of smaller stories with all the recruitment and loyalty stuff whereas ME3 is constant epic scale. I still love ME2, but the way ME3 does it allows for improved narrative cohesion.
I actually LOVE the Reaper scanning mini game. Much more engaging than the resource probing. Plus it's a very concrete way to see how Mass Effect has evolved in its gameplay over time.
The Reegar with the ammo upgrade is hilarious. My personal favorite is the Piranha with a smart choke and armor piercing ammo. Or the classic Typhoon with incendiary ammo explosive burst. Both essentially put the game into baby mode.
Destroyed and undiscovered fuel stations give a ping, when flying over them (like when flying over a planet). That way you already know where you might be able to detect it with a scan and can position your ship to cover other planets in the vicinity with one scan. Also it is possible - aside from three system as far as I know - to uncover all assets in every system without alerting the Reapers. Also you can save beforehand, go on a scanning spree, then reload and do scans only where necessary.
I find that the best way to break the game is the vanguard class. Just use a good shotgun, the wraith is the easiest to use. And then play without fear. The first levels can be SLIGHTLY tricky on max difficulty but after that, just use the biotic charge, once you have it maxed. It DESTROYS your enemies. Stop hiding and shooting, it's absolutely uselss if you are a vanguard. You fight in first line. If you are receiving damage, use biotic charge and your shields will be restored again, and you will be able to escape from any cornered situation. The time slows down for a second after using the charge, so take that time to point your shotgun to the head of your enemy and BLAST HIM OUT. The playstyle of the vanguard combines evasion, aggression and defense and it's absolutely broken. Forget about detonations, forget about details. Just BLAST EVERYTHING IN YOUR WAY.
Vanguard is literally playing like a Demi God. I use to play as Soldier and Adept but now after realising how OP and fun vanguard is. I can never go back lol no more hiding cover playing whack a mole with the enemy. I like to think Vanguard is Shepard's Canon Class as I feel like its the only class the truly makes Shepard stand out. No other character can do the Charge except you the player.(Vasir in Shadow broker DLC only uses it as an evade) Every other class has abilities your companions can use but the charge in vanguard. Truly a special class
The eavesdrop thing was badly done too, after the first 2 games people are used to hearing background talking, not everyone pays attention to it so a lot of people don't realize they even picked up a mission
It's largely irrelevant anyway. Almost all those missions are fetch quests, which you'll pick up the items for through scanning or while on missions if you thoroughly explore the maps. You can even buy a lot of them in the spectre office after if you miss them. Just gotta remember to turn them in.
Tech like Incinerate can detonate and prime. You can string sets together: carnage/incinerate/warp/reave/warp for example. Or is it reave warp reave? Try adding in throw and overload. You get the idea. 👍👍
Here are a few more. 1. While scanning: Start your scans near the spots where the reapers will spawn. If resources are nearby, you want to collect them first before the reapers show up. This will make it easier to scan other areas not so close to their spawn sites when they do actually show up to chase you. Each solar system will likely only have 2-3 harvest locations at most, so getting these harder ones out of the way first will make your life easier. You can also save your game first, then scan like mad till you know the locations of each hidden spots, then re-load your game and just make a bee line right to them for less pings if you wish. 2. Concerning Javik, our favorite prothian warrior. While making your choices of his skill tree, choice very wisely. Unlike every other squadmate, once you make a decision for his skill tree, you can not go back later and reassign his skills if you decide you want a different set of powers. This is true for the original play through, but do not know if this was later changed for legendary. 3. Creeper missions. You have to physically go back & forth to many different locations on the citadel several times to get the full story. A good example of this is to hear the ptsd asari commando in the hospital. Listen to her till she stops talking, then leave the hospital to go anywhere else. Then come back and she continues her story. (Spoiler) the farm girl she is talking about is actually the sister of one of your crew. These side quests are dependent on what part of the story you are on. if you don't resolve them in time, they are gone. Important changes in the story are the attack on the citadel, resolving the genophage, etc.
Love your videos !! My son bought me this Legendary Edition that I never heard of ?? What a great Game// Found your vids and loving every minute of play !! You got a Sub !1
Best hint I can add: For Adepts, Engineers, and Sentinels: Once your armor & weapon upgrades allow it, take those for *power* (not weapon) damage boost and cooldown reduction (if any). You can become quick enough (cooldown) to not need a second weapon ever. Even good enough (Singularity, Warp, Throw & Team-Reave!) to need neither backpedal nor cover when the reaper `zombies´ rush. On the other end, when raising fitness for melee damage boost & gear for melee, too: Reaper Brutes go down with 2 hits at maximum. `We can't all be psychics, eh?´
Gonna clean my Xbox One X tomorrow then continue playing. Was hoping Bioware would have patched the screen tearing by now but guess that's not gonna happen.
I did everything in ME1 & ME2, but I missed out on that 3rd interaction with Verner. I was so disappointed that I didn't have my #1 FanBoy around in 2 & 3. :'-(

Don't know if this counts as a tip for ME 2 or 3, but when I've finished ME 2 I reset all my powers to zero before starting ME 3 with that character. That way you can re-distribute your skill points at the beginning of ME 3 (otherwise they get automatically distributed for you) They did on last gen consoles anyway, not sure about Legendary Edition as I haven't started the third game yet.
The only missions you don’t need to do are the Firewalker missions. The only thing you get in 3 is a throwaway line about the Hammerhead likely being destroyed.
I am still in Me1 going through EVERY possible mission and planet...it's a bitch but totally worth it...I haven't even been to Feros yet and I am a total bad ass...guns ranging at 360 damage and I am playing insanity...so totally worth running around getting every single thing done BEOFRE the main quests
@@MrHulthen Hell yea, and reading every single bio too, like you said in one of your videos, it's insane the amount of data that can be collected through reading every single thing available in game. I love this game so much, it is the best game ever made...and this is about the 10th time I will be playing the series...but never played it like this before :)
I didnt like how Bioware just upped the maximum required war asset score without buffing at least some of war assets, when they decided to do that, they shouldve buffed the assets, or in what i think is better, make use of assignments from previous games that werent used in their sequels, for example if the player finishes the unc survey collection in me1, than all alliance fleets get a 30 war asset increase as a results, with a additional 1 point for every 2 mineral deposit surveyed after. or if all turian insignias were found in me1, it would give a 25 war asset point increase to turian fleets and ground forces with plus 3 for every insignia after. Same for matriarch dilingia's writings, that would give a plus 30 to all asari fleets, with a plus 2 for every writing found fater. That wouldve made the max war score more justified.
Idk it's still a real cut from the original 8000 you needed if you didn't want to play multi-player from the original release. And I think the number is fine, ya it's like 90% of the total available but like, It shouldn't be somthing you easily achieve just casually playing through
Eh its not that hard now to get honestly if you just go and do scanning in every system and do the missions. I didnt have online on my console back then so I got screwed over and wasn't really fair at all lol I resorted to gibbed saved editor just to see the better endings back in the day.
The auto save happens each time you enter a galaxy so you can scan try to find all the war assets and if you fail let the reaper catch you and reload your last checkpoint and you can try to find them again they do not change position so if you spot them you just scan them easily directly where they are. It it faster than going in and out wasting fuel
Top mass effect 3 tip. You can beat the entire game by only using throw and warp. Have liara cast singularity, then cast your 2s cooldown throw. I literally havent fired a shot on insanity yet and its hilarious seeing enemies fly all over the map.
**Long slow blink** Wait, Reaper-infected systems can be reset?!? Why didn't anyone tell me that back in the day! Also, does anyone know what "Easter Egg" he's talking about at the end? The trilogy is full of Easter Eggs, so knowing which one adds to my War Assets so I can get the "Breath" scene easier is kind of important.
@@jaysea33 i also save almost everyone i mass effect 2 ending and i dint kill the queen in Mass effect 1 those two are important for your military strenght

I always thought they should make it so you could of shot at the reapers and obviously not destroying them but disabling them and if you disable all the come after you we could of gotten some kind of reward.
another tip on the scan game is save, scan the areas you know have stuff, reload, now you know were they are and scan and get out without alerting the reapers, its what I do, it works about 75% percent of the time
Tech detonation are triggered by states of effect like "burning" or "frozen" which can be done with the soldier and the cryo/inferno ammo. And concussive shot is considered by the game a tech skill. So you can trigger tech detonation with quick combos from the soldiers: inferno/cryo ammo > concussive shots. With the correct weapons you can have concussive shots every second and trigger anything in sigh quickly if shields or barriers are down. With the N7-Lancer and a pistol it can become ridiculous.
I felt like I did a majority of the missions and couldn't get all 3 endings. I just beat all 3 games on Insanity and it was a little bit of a bummer that I didn't have all of them available. I had 5700 assets, guess that's not enough huh? Thanks for getting a estimate of the number needed to get them. I spent an hour or two looking for that!
To be honest use the Venom shotgun, fully charged up it become a mini grenade launcher with extrem damage adding fire munition to add and you can run through insanity like its nothing
Idk if LE and legacy ME3 are different, but for the perfect ending the war asset points dont actually mean that much, what im saying is that you can get the perfect ending even with less than 6k points (like i did in my last playthrough, without DLCs too) i guess the objective is to max out the green bar under the asset list, when its filled it means you got major part of the assets
I played ME1 of the Legendary Edition but skipped ME2 and jumped into ME3 (I'd played the Backward compatible ME2 on my Xbox a couple of years ago). Can I still get the best ending? I went through the comic book making the following choices: In ME1: - Chose Liara - Saved the Rachni queen - Saved Wrex - Saved Ashley over Kaidan - Saved the council - Chose Anderson over Udina In ME2: - I took the time recruit ALL characters - I resolved the conflicts - I stayed true to my old squad - I improved the ship and team first at the expense of the Normany crew (tough one) - I didn't start something with Tali (prepare for Assault) - I didn't trust the Illusive Man
All this work they did on LE and they still didn't fix cutscenes using the default assault rifle and pistol. There's a mod that fixes it so Shep uses whatever gun they're holding instead. Why couldn't the devs do that? 🤔
Such lazy fucks honestly. It's like the Devs made Shepard a default Soldier in the cutscene at times. Grissom academy annoys me when Shepard trys busting the window with his fucking rifle. Like BRO SHOCKWAVE THAT SHIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!? Im sitting here like why on earth am I using a assault rifle? Even your companions suffer this problem too. Ill see Liara weilding a Avenger and alll I can do is facepalm in disappointment.
Story almost 10/10 Combat -5/10. Pro Tipp use a game like Doom, Quake 3 Arena or Counterstrike for combatfun and in Mass Effect Level Up and set the game to easy, run to checkpoints without killing if possible. ME3 is the worst of the 3 games, 1 button for run, use and hide, you stuck on every corner, more enemys as in painkiller, no ego perspectiv, if enemys come closer you cant hit or see anything. A mod with a button for killing every enemy for ME3 would make this game much better
Didn't miss it but I did forget how God awful the mission log is in ME3 was now I'm stuck with 4 active missions I can't do, not having any way to track your mission or when the mission is even available was a big back step luckily all the missions I missed are small side quests, but still you do one mission involved with the story and half the citadel changes leaving you unable to turn in side quests
I never understood why they made it more linear. I didn’t think mass effect 1 was confusing at all and I like going down to planet and driving around. I even like the hover tank thing in the 2nd game.
Can someone please tell me how to holster my gun in Mass Effect 3 for Xbox One? The controls say press the view button (two boxes) but that does a quick autosave. I really want the camera to zoom back out when I’m not in combat and that’s only if my gun is holstered.
@@zakhaevshub4735 Don't remember if I ever unlocked that one or played with it very much. The Project Phoenix Vanguard was fun though, but played very differently than your typical vanguard, being able to attack through corners and objects. The Human Vanguard's 1-2-punch was also fun.

Don't know if this counts as a tip for ME 2 or 3, but when I've finished ME 2 I reset all my powers to zero before starting ME 3 with that character. That way you can re-distribute your skill points at the beginning of ME 3 (otherwise they get automatically distributed for you)
They did on last gen consoles anyway, not sure about Legendary Edition as I haven't started the third game yet.
It still works in Legendary.
The only missions you don’t need to do are the Firewalker missions.
The only thing you get in 3 is a throwaway line about the Hammerhead likely being destroyed.
I don’t need a quick save I wish they kept the option to put your weapon away when you are walking around
Oh man, well you're going all out i see :D
@@MrHulthen Hell yea, and reading every single bio too, like you said in one of your videos, it's insane the amount of data that can be collected through reading every single thing available in game.
I love this game so much, it is the best game ever made...and this is about the 10th time I will be playing the series...but never played it like this before :)
And yes! Please do in depth on how to get all endings and what the min ems needed is please!!!!
"DON'T TASE ME BRO!! AHHHHH! AHHHHH!" 🤣🤣
most unintentionally funny meme out there :D
@@MrHulthen it worked so well with the animation of the enemy haha
I loved Andromedas combat
And the Biotic Echoes
The auto save happens each time you enter a galaxy so you can scan try to find all the war assets and if you fail let the reaper catch you and reload your last checkpoint and you can try to find them again they do not change position so if you spot them you just scan them easily directly where they are.
It it faster than going in and out wasting fuel
Top mass effect 3 tip. You can beat the entire game by only using throw and warp. Have liara cast singularity, then cast your 2s cooldown throw. I literally havent fired a shot on insanity yet and its hilarious seeing enemies fly all over the map.
Thanks for sharing this one bro 👍
You're welcome 😉
MOTHER OF ALL TASEEEEEEERS, loved it.
I'd also like to know what this easter egg is.
Tip #2 find a good guide online to pin point targets to scan :)
lol. I love the ship and reaper intercept mini game.
I already finish the trilogy i got the best ending on ME 3
Good job! :D
What was your galactic readiness at? I had 5700 and didn't have all 3 endings available 😢
@@jaysea33 mine was 7000 and more couse i did every planet scan to get the most war assets i also did every side quest and DLC in mass effect 3
@@jaysea33 i also save almost everyone i mass effect 2 ending and i dint kill the queen in Mass effect 1 those two are important for your military strenght
@@jaysea33 at first i was sad too because i only got 2 endings but after finishing all the things in ME 3 the second time i played the ending i went for the destroy one and the comander survive. I really hope you can get ii too
Great stuff. Thx!
This is all useful information, *spoiler alert* best do from the ashes and leviathan, though working on the latter (leviathan) now.
I always thought they should make it so you could of shot at the reapers and obviously not destroying them but disabling them and if you disable all the come after you we could of gotten some kind of reward.
Even as a vanguard, N7 lancer with incendiary + overload as a squad based tech power from Tali, absolutely tears through mech/synth its insane
As a Sentinel with Liara as a squad mate, I was a wrecking machine and barely used my guns.
another tip on the scan game is save, scan the areas you know have stuff, reload, now you know were they are and scan and get out without alerting the reapers, its what I do, it works about 75% percent of the time
Yep I always go with the sentinel just because it’s so versatile.
Yeah i was bummed out aswell. Welp, another reason to replay xD
Probably cause you didn't go out and scan for war assets and mostly did only the missions.
Thanks
I played ME1 of the Legendary Edition but skipped ME2 and jumped into ME3 (I'd played the Backward compatible ME2 on my Xbox a couple of years ago).
Can I still get the best ending?
I went through the comic book making the following choices:
In ME1:
- Chose Liara
- Saved the Rachni queen
- Saved Wrex
- Saved Ashley over Kaidan
- Saved the council
- Chose Anderson over Udina
In ME2:
- I took the time recruit ALL characters
- I resolved the conflicts
- I stayed true to my old squad
- I improved the ship and team first at the expense of the Normany crew (tough one)
- I didn't start something with Tali (prepare for Assault)
- I didn't trust the Illusive Man
I'll take ME3 scanning over ME2 resource gathering any day. One of the reason I rarely replay ME2.
Mods for scanning convenience are so, so clutch
Before doing the last mission play several multiplayer games, you will have a staggering amount of n7 war assets.
Doing mass effect 2 on insanity first before I move on to 3 I'm slowly getting there forgot how hard ME2 was
I had about 7707 war assets by the end of me3 and finding out shepherd lives reignited me with faith for me4
Story almost 10/10 Combat -5/10.
1:34 Which is where God Mode Garrus comes into play...
Just finished creating a god Garrus. Now I can just hide and Garrus will kill anything on sight :D
I've played ME3 a few times, and never, not once, did I realise LISTENING to NPCs got you missions
Thanks.
Always use investigate with TIM. I didn't and thus fucked up my Insanity playthrough...
So more call of duty dude bros would buy it
I absolutely love the anime reference
💣
I did finish the ME trilogy many times and many ways posibble... thou iam still about to go throu LE edition :) first will be Paragon than Renegade
You can just exist the system to lose the Reapers, you don’t have to move around before entering again. Man what a waste of fuel
Totally not my favorite thing to do to make the reapers Chase my ass
🤣 worst thing ever
Unless u are playing a soldier class so weight doesn't matter
I got the best ending with 7200
I ended up with a final war asset score of 8260 in my full playthrough of ME LE (straight paragon)
where did you get that armor that you areusing in the video
Slightly disappointed that this video isn't a list of between 3 and 5 tips you may have missed in Mass Effect 1.
Tip #3 sponsored by Mr. Torgue 😂
I had over 8160 Military strength without completing all side missions in 1 and 2
Ha, I don't even know what "class" I am or what a detonation is.
I would like to know the exact number of War assets that are needed to unlock each ending tier.
Can someone please tell me how to holster my gun in Mass Effect 3 for Xbox One? The controls say press the view button (two boxes) but that does a quick autosave. I really want the camera to zoom back out when I’m not in combat and that’s only if my gun is holstered.
On Mass Effect 3 how do I make my screen bit lower because I can't see there bottom words when you talk to you Anderton at frist
Play as Vanguard...I guarantee you can headbutt a brute & banshee without a scratch 😂
Yeah Charge is a detonator which makes for very satisfying booms :P Doing that in the ME3 multiplayer was fun, fun, fun, though risky with Banshees.
@@Elldallan i think N7 Slayer is the most vanguard to use, cuz it had teleport to dodge enemy attack
@@Elldallan human vanguard is ok too, but I'm struggling to use phoenix vanguard. For me I prefer to use phoenix adept since the smash more suitable with adept skill.
@@zakhaevshub4735 It's good for getting around the map and for getting out of tight spots because it's very squishy and you need to be operating very close to enemies, and charge instantly recharges your barriers.
Can I go back to ME1 to finish up whatever side missions I didn't do
What if I did most side missions in ME 1, and did all side mission in ME 2?
Then you're on the right track :)
@@MrHulthen oh, good! Because I was worried I would have to restart. Thank you!
I'm not a new fan. I'm actually an old fan. Which secret easter egg are you referring to?
Dose anyone know how the money and resources system works like, how much money from ME1 or Like heavy Metal moves to ME2?
Playing paraged i managed over 8,000 war assets
why isnt typhoon full rifle dmg garrus 1man army mentioned? he literally can take down harvesters in 2-3seconds, reapers too if you give him a minute.
At this point we should probably give him m920 and watch as the war ends in an hour
I definitely achieved the "best" ending with just under 7,000 military strength/galactic readiness. Not 100% positive what the difference between those to things in LE is....
You're wasting way top much fuel in 2
Just click in the direction you'd like to appear and enter area again.
Combat in the first two games is not even close to good enough to actually worry about it.. Weapons feel lame to use..
--
I'm just doing a bit of homework to see if I even feel like starting the third game.
I’m sorry but the fetch quests are insufferable. They just clog up your mission list. It really bothers me so it kind of forces me to spend a bunch of time getting rid of them, usually extremely boring. The worst part is some of them are just broken and I can’t actually complete it so it’s just stuck there
Where is the Ester egg you mentioned
which easteregg you mean exactly?
What’s this Easter egg you mention at the end? I don’t mind the spoilers.
Shepard is seen taking a breath after the destroy ending
@@Noschool100 How is that an easter egg tho? Lol thats not what an Easter egg means
@@MistahJay7 i mean i think people just consider it one cause you have to have specific set ups to get it so not everyone will see it and it's just a little tease thrown in the end. It's 'hidden' behind higher barriers than other content.
