I know that the name of our moon is Luna & I know that the sun is Sol.
But in day to day conversation, most people don't say "Luna" and "Sol".
Considering Mass Effect takes place across the galaxy, it's self evident that we'd start calling the Sun & Moon as Sol & Luna.
    Thank you for reading 🙂

They don't currently because we're only here. If you were a space spanning empire 'sun' and 'moon' would be more respective to where they are currently located as they're just general terms of identity. So someone in the Asgard system on Terra Nova would call their moon, moon or their sun the sun more than likely. Hence why our moon would use it's official name if we were a actual space spanning empire over several solar systems. Which is pretty much what you said with more words lol

The Shifty Looking Cow was an in-joke at Bioware. When they were designing endemic life for the uncharted planets, someone saw the design of the space cows and said something like he/she wouldn't trust them. He/she said that the front arms made them uncomfortable, and they look like they'd steal your money when your back is turned. Thus, the legendary Easter egg was born.

@@Coco-buns I used to scour the Wiki a lot when I was younger. It's one of the facts that stuck out in my mind, as I was very confused when I first found the Shifty Looking Cow.
Edit: it was a post by Lead Technical Designer Dusty Everman on the official forums. The exact quote is:
“I love the history of the Shifty Cow easter egg. When the character artists designed the space cow with two extra arms, Preston, our lead designer, was a little creeped out. His comment was "You can’t trust any animal that can milk itself." Those extra little hands look so... grabby. So Preston came up with the idea of Shifty Cow. Turn your back on him, and those creepy little hands are going to go to work. Kiss those credits goodbye.”

They killed one on Tuchanka, they killed one on Rannoch, they killed Sovereign, they killed a Larva in the Collector base, and that's just the ones Shepard personally killed, not even mentioning who just got gunned down by miscellaneous fleets. But you did it, and you come back later, only to find some blue ball has uplifted the Yahg and those bird people, and warned them about you. So now Falco Lombardi on 50,000 years of prep time is leading The Krogan But Worse, and they already have the Crucible. Imagine.

There's an "easter egg" in Mass Effect 2 very similar to the one at 4:12 : during the last mission of the shadow broker dlc, when you have to reach the ship fighting on the wing, at a certain point you'll have to open a gate bypassing it and this requires you to wait while facing up 3 waves of enemies; during the fight a dialogue between Shepard and Liara triggers which says something like:
    - "Do you remember Shepard when you could bypass everything with Omnigel?"
    - "Yes, lots of people complained about this change"
That is a direct reference to the Omnigel tool in ME1 which allowed you to bypass every locker instantly instead of playing the "press buttons in sequence" minigame

The Vi on the moon is called Hannibal which after its deactivation by Shepard Cerberus acquired it to combine with fragments of Sovereign and EDI was born. @@willgame4coffee my feelings exactly. I also had rewritten the heretics which meant that more Quarians died before I could broker peace (hey, didn't know when played me2!) so basically EDI dies, Legion sacrifices for naught and many quarians dead for naught.
Synthesis, in the end, ain't that bad. True, there's a forced evolution but destroy would force technological regression and Control has its risk. With synthesis, although dna mixes, the races retain free will (yes, EDI says an utopia will develop but that's just how she sees it).

Moon is both in some languages. Probably in ME the idea is that interspace travel has made it to tell "moons" apart from THE moon.
(This fact is lost in Italian as "luna" is the only word for both our satellite and the other moons, which makes puns about lunatics quite commonplace).

@@francescodarcangeli4197 Maybe so, but the earth is not the only planet or celestial body to have a moon. Moon being as I said, a type of celestial object and Luna is its name. We often use the moon, and in most cases we speak of Luna, as it is the only moon we can really see with without magnification. Jupiter have 95 known moons for instance, and all have distinct names, the most famous maybe Europa or Io. My point was that in the video, he says the moon which is now called Luna,. However, Luna means moon and Luna is its name. Not some fictional name BioWare gave the moon in ME.

Funny tough, the worst ending, is the one who give the best sequel...
Imagine that Shepard screw... so the cycle will repeat, but everything else is intact, the mass relays, the cidatel.
It would be like Space Mad Max, with the players running around trying to flee the reapers while fighting pirates, scavangers, and other galaxy ending scenarios... if you think about, is the best scenario of all, because it allows a sequel in a different fashion, but still in the same galaxy...
Seriously... who TOUGHT it was a good idea making a sequel completly detached from the original trilogy? Set in a galaxy that we basically know NOTHING ABOUT?
The worst endind of Mass Effect is THE BEST ENDING of Mass Effect, like, literally like! SCREW this indoctrination, i won't play YOUR GAME.
Fun fact...we may lost a good sequel, because folks choose bright colors instead of making a councious choice.

    • @fullmetalbarret
      @fullmetalbarret 3 года назад +1

@@efxnews4776 If you shoot the kid and the cycle continues then the reapers literally kill all organic life right there and go back into dark space to wait for the next cycle. So a sequel to that would kind of just be mass effect 1 again, except with new alien races and no humans and no characters that we know about.
Basically if Bioware chose that as the cannon ending then we wouldn't get a sequel. Considering that having the reapers wipe out organics is literally wiping the slate clean. It would basically mean that they would have to work harder to redesign the world and characters again and this time without humanity. That's too much work just to make a game they basically already made. Going to another part of the universe is actually a decent idea. Andromeda was fine and only suffered from animations being messed up basically. If we would have given the devs a chance to make a trilogy in the Andromeda system then we would probably have another solid mass effect trilogy.

Lol the ME3 ending... I remember at the time how dissapointingly lazy it was, after 3 games to get... that shit served up to you like it's Kobe Steak.
Especially as you couldnt argue with the kid even though everything Shepherd had done up to that point (making peace between Quarians & Geth just to name one) proved the Kid's logic was moronic.
In a game where your actions up to that point could make a difference, you got railroaded into 3 (or 4) lazy endings.
Thankfully it was fixed by various happy ending mods, ( the best of these imo entirely cutting the Star Child out of the game altogether) but you shouldn't have to install a fan mod to get a decent conclusion to something that took 3 games and 5 years to build up to, and console players were stuck with the tripe Bioware came up with.

      >Yes, everyone dies but the next cycle manages to stop the Reapers using Liara’s information.
No they don't. If there's anything Mass Effect 1 should have taught you, is that the messages of a previous generation doesn't always get properly translated to the next, or at all. The Protheans warned the next cycle of what's going to happen, nobody understood it and less believed it when heard, so the Reaper cycled continued.
It is within the realm of possibility, you just repeated the same mistake of the Protheans.

The more annoying thing if you get Legion early in-game is the fact that it triggers the mission where the Collectors kidnap your crew after one or two more missions and if you don't go immediately to do the suicide mission, you lose Kelly Chambers, so you kinda miss out that perfect ending opportunity. Here's an idea for a LE video. 10 differences between the original games, and LE. And no, not just the stuff we've all seen in the trailers. Not the stuff they advertise. As one example, is that one mission in ME1. I forget the name, but, you're tracking a nuke, in a mine, and get trapped, and contacted by some terrorist, I believe. In the original game, said terrorist is human, but has a turian name, turian esque voice, and overall dialogue fits a turian. In LE however, he IS a turian, not human. Another, similar video? Possible bugs/problems/etc, that exist in both versions. As an example? Also in ME1, there's one mission that has you talk to a survivor of Akuze's thresher maw attack. In both versions, he'll talk to Shepard as if Shepard was a Sole Survivor, regardless of the actual service record chosen. Oh, another video? Potential story threads that went nowhere. I can name 2. 1 is that Prothean artifact, in ME1. You get a vision if you put in the trinket from the Consort. Seeing that vision is flagged in the save file, but it never goes anywhere in 2 or 3. Another story thread that went nowhere was Haestrom's sun. It dying quickly went nowhere as well.

@@MrHulthen You're welcome. Another thing about that human/turian guy? He was a Skyllian Blitz survivor, and has different dialogue for War Heroes. Or, another bug of sorts that didn't change? In ME2, you can buy a model of a shuttle for the display cabinet, but what's there isn't a shuttle, it's a cruiser, I think. One thing I am curious about though, related to that? In ME3's beginning, Ashley/Kaidan will say "They're going to take down that dreadnought!" When it's really a cruiser, but it was too late to change line or model. Not sure if that was fixed or not.

    • @212mochaman
      @212mochaman 3 года назад

Its funny about the potential story threads that went no where. Haestrom's sun dying too quickly by dark matter, there was a LOT more to that in definitely me2 and possible me1 but i forget. Wrex upon killing the thresher maw with grunt "next you'll be telling me he's a quint that craps dark matter". Citadel dlc party james's vs half the biotics in the room, shepard says "come on james we're talking about harnessing dark energy here" Noveria Internal affairs chick says her bosses are worried about dark matter etc etc... Basically that WAS the ending of the trilogy. Reapers invade cause dark energy screws things up like suns on planets that arent called Haestrom. Then it supposedly got leaked and cowards changed it to subvert people's expectations of the end. Guess they didnt realise that would be the worst mistake Bioware's ever done
