He is like one of those contractors that is given the plans for a house, builds it and then claims to be the architect and sells them for his own profit. He did not create the Stormtrooper. Neither did he have the idea of the Stormtrooper.
Liar, liar, helmets on fire. He melted plastic over someone else's bucks. He then reproduced them years later claiming to have kept the originals, which he didn't. Then he 'doubled down' on the lie and claimed that he was the originator of the sculpts. He has squandered any credit that he might lay claim to by perjuring himself in court. Wow, that guy loves the sound of his own voice, and total BS too! On his website shop he even claims he was the original R2 builder........ "Everyone’s favourite droid is now available to own from Shepperton Design Studios, the studio that was there at the very beginning. Built to the same highest standards across all of our products, our R2 Droid is a full size replica created especially by Andrew Ainsworth, the original prop maker."
Shepperton Design Studios, set up by Andrew Ainsworth, did not build the original R2 props, and neither did Ainsworth have a hand in the build or design. The original R2 was built by robotics technician Professor Tony Dyson, along with 8 variations for various plot requirements. He owned the special effects studio White Horse Toy Company.
Total crap. He was a fabricator who was hired as a short-term vendor to crank out some suits and helmets that were needed in bulk in a very short amount of time. This happens on many many films. That's his entire involvement. Period. He did NOT create the Stormtroopers or anything else from Star Wars, nor did he sculpt them or even assemble them. Simply put - he owns a vacuum-forming/plastic fabrication business and Lucasfilm paid to have him make some stuff quickly. A VENDOR. Do you REALLY think George Lucas would have called up a guy who makes fish ponds and kayaks for a living... to create his iconic Stormtrooper army?! USE YOUR BRAINS, people! The guy is a thief, a liar, and a total mooch. He sells a rip-off Stormtrooper suit/helmet now that he CLAIMS is from the original molds - but that is blatant lie. I'm a 501st Legion member and I've been to Lucasfilm and seen original suits. Andrew Ainsworth does NOT have the original molds. Maybe some he threw out because they were crap. Maybe some new ones he recast from an old helmet. But not the originals. Don't believe his lies or buy his crappy products. And by the way... he LOST the lawsuit by Lucasfilm in the USA. He only won rights in the UK, because Copyright laws there are less strict. And either way, he was making illegal helmets/suits for years before that - AKA he is a thief and criminal against the Star Wars brand and Lucasfilm. Everything is public record and easy to find, if you don't believe me.
Why do you think he doesnt have the original helmet moulds? Why would he NOT have them? Who else would have them, and why? Do you think Liz Moore made the moulds?
I will say this, his helmets match in every way the originals. The right eye has a strange bump and protrudes, and the left eye does not. The left cheek bone is sharp, the right is not. All of the other shapes are dead on as well. If you study other copies, none have these characteristics. These helmets are like fingerprints. I 100% believe that he at least has the original molds.
Ainsworth is a fraud. He never has a hand in the design of the original Stormtrooper armor or helmet. Credit Bill Muir and Liz Moore for their outstanding talent and contributions to the Star Wars legacy. Ainsworth simply produced for the film what was already created.

Nein. Spot on, that's what bugs me
Exactly give Liz Moore(rip) the respect she deserves
Whatever opinion you have of him, he brought the Moore's and Muir sketches to life.
Such a pity that he implies that he sculpted the trooper helmet, stealing the credit for a Liz Moore's work is shitty beyond belief.
