Ancient Lightning Spear being a Dex AoW and not an upgrade for Faith is a literal war crime, one of many that Miyazaki has committed against the faithful.
You sir must have the best luck in the world or the eye coordination of a hawk, cause I have no idea how your able to actually hit people with a fully charged Bolt of Gransax lol. Practically everyone I encountered after the patch still managed to dodge the ash of war even on initial cast. Maybe I just suck using the Bolt of Gransax haha
Oh some people definitely dodge it. That's what the cragblade is for. But I always initiate with ancient lightning spear when I invade. I was honestly surprised at how many people didn't avoid it. I call it "the noob test" 😂 Also, when fighting outnumbered, I'll usually aim towards one player while charging it up then lock on to a different player mid-cast, surprising them with a sudden sharp 90 degree turn and 1-shotting them 👍
Ah, madness? That recently got nerfed, but I suppose a build for it could still work. Though Vyke's spear and the fingerprint shield are the only madness-inflicting melee weapons afaik 😅

I just put this bad boy together from 3am to 5am on my ng+ took a while cause I had to do some story progression but I like this build a lot so I’m gonna try it. I loved the dual coded sword faith build how do you feel this compares in terms of victories from duels/invasions

All clips are you interrupting a 1v1 fight and the person is not expecting it. Its kinda easy to dodge in pvp and the spears are actually good for melee combat, especially in power stance Craigblade is OP tho that I can’t disagree with
While the projectile is indeed easy to dodge, it's surprising how many don't dodge it. Remember that these are invasions and not duels. And most of these were not 1v1 interruptions. There were several 1v1 and 1vX clips here. Not to mention, if an opponent is casting a spell with a lengthy animation, like dragon breath which is also shown in this vid, I can punish with a light spear while they're rooted. Also while the bolt of gransax is an ok melee weapon and power-stanced spears, in general, are good, I get WAY more value from Cragblade 👍

Nono you're right. I haven't tested it myself, but I heard that 61 poise is to not flinch from a powerstanced attack with 2 light weapons 🤔
Gransax or cragblade for pvp and pve?
I use both for PvP. As for PvE, gransax is more important, but cragblade might be useful there too 👍

Depends. Use the quick cast more often and be less predictable with it. It's a secondary move, not a primary one 🙂
