@@TheAnalatheist Every point into vigor counts in a build like this because it’s going off of a percent of your HP. I checked this last night, the difference between having 50 vigor and having 80 vigor is that the Branchswords kick in at approx. 300HP on 50 vigor, and they kick in at approx. 500HP on 80 vigor. If you’re still taking hits to trade at 20% HP then even the bonuses from the Branchswords won’t save you from being oneshot if 20% translates to only 300 health. I’d go so far as to say that 80 vigor isn’t enough
Really really love this build currently doing a similar full HP build that uses the crimson and erdtree+2 and then the sacred butchering knife or (what I use) the heart stars that regeneration health on hit and the Ash of war that restores 30% HP on hit (modified from another video) although idk why you and the other guy both overleveled vigor? You get a ton up to 40 and then still get good gains up to 60 then you only get 6 hp per level so why not re-alocate those other 20 levels elsewhere like STG or DEX to bump that weapon damage. Or endurance to up your equip load and resistances or maybe even into and/or faith to get access to more spells. Tldr great build, I would drop the levels in vigor to 60 and relocate those elsewhere. Now your 2 cents richer lol
The damage of Ghostflame Ignition scales a lot more with Intelligence than the D scaling would suggest. I’m sure other people have said this already but the more the merrier right?

You should show off combos with incantations, and sorceries. For instance you can cast bestial sling then straight into honed bolt, or catch flame into the magma breath.
There's a big difference between quick-casting (intended) and instant-casting/waving (actual bug). Using a regular Catch Flame into Theo's Magma will just cancel straight into the follow-up cast of Theo's Magma, which shows the wyrm-head in the animation, only spews magma and doesn't have the spike of on-hit damage. As you can guess - nobody is using this combo because it would just be bad despite the interesting interaction. The combo that people are using is jumping/rolling/sprinting/BHSing Catch Flame into Theo's Magma (you can also just cast Catch Flame twice before Theo's but that's objectively worse so nobody's doing that either) which will wave-cast the *initial* attack of the spell, instantly dealing the on-hit damage and spawning lava all around the target. This will often one-shot even if you miss with Catch Flame - it's also 99.99999% not an intended mechanic. Even if you fix the pseudo-double-cast bug on Catch Flame, it's still debatable whether _any_ spells are supposed to _ever_ be wave-cast. Bestial Sling doesn't share the double-cast bug of Catch Flame but otherwise performs the same; Casting Bestial Sling twice in a row will make a subsequent cast of Honed Bolt or Lightning Strike a wave-cast. Casting Bestial Sling *once* into the same spells will make them quick-cast (the wind-up is gone but the fist-pump casting animation is still present). Seeing as how these spells are already boosted to a point where only the actual animation of casting remains *do you really think there is supposed to be a version of the spells with no animation at all?* The thorns-magic combo makes it seem like maybe it's intended but if you approach it logically, that's probably bugged too. Both spells can be "cast repeatedly" but also combo into each-other. So each spell makes the other quicker but also makes itself quicker which is why they can be alternately wave-cast for as long as the caster has hp/fp to cast them. Just to give some extra context, I can cast Theo's Magma 10 times in one infinite FP physick (15 seconds). That doesn't seem right. This guy (or maybe the other guy, but same channel) has stated before that he won't use exploits in his build videos (why he didn't include FDS/Bloodflame in his rolling thorns build) and there are some very clear exploits going on with incantations right now.
@@graysaltine6035 I didn’t think it was a bug. It states in certain incantations/sorceries that it allows a follow up attack. Which I took to be the combos. Oh well, not a big deal to me either way.
@@WhiteBuffaloWakanGli The one where you see the head is the follow-up attack, but the one that is meta right now is the invisible cast where the lava just instantly appears which is actually the first attack of the spell not the follow-up (it just has the wind-up sigil and the wyrm-head animation both removed). People will often spam Theo's so you see both attacks but the first one is so hard to notice that you might not even realise they cast it twice. Some of the combo stuff is legit and some of it is bugged, the current consensus is thus; - Quick-cast combos like 'Glintstone into Comet' or 'Standing Bestial Sling (single cast) into Honed Bolt' are all *OK* - Instant-cast combos like 'Jumping Catch Flame into Theo's Magma/Dragon Claw' or 'Double Bestial Sling into Honed Bolt' are *NOT OK* - The combos specific to "follow-up attack" incantations like 'Standing Catch Flame into follow-up Theo's Magma/Dragon Claw' and the specific case of the two Thorns sorceries are a sort of grey-area and they aren't necessarily more powerful than legit alternatives so *We're not really sure but it's probably not intended*
How does this build perform against harder bosses? You mostly show early game bosses when testing the weapon, but most weapons are good against them. I'd love to see you show more bosses
If you wanna do the pve version of it use Shard of Alexander, Magic scorpion charm, magic shouting crystal tear, intelligence knot crystal tear and whatever else you want on. Do the L2 + R1 and yeh pretty much kills any boss. My int’s usually at 60 since there are items that can boost your int to at least 80. Even tho it’s D in int It weirdly does more magic power than moonveil

@@user-mu8ok5xf8d its one of the drops from the death birds, the weaker version of the Death Rite Birds. Icr if its the one behind the warmasters shack or not. But I am pretty sure that they made a video to get it and the red feathered one
A little late, but a good way to take out the Deathrite Birds is with Holy Water Pots. They do intense damage to 'em, especially if you can land a headshot. Don't even need that much Faith to do it either, and you can get up to ten Cracked Pots before even going to Altus Plateau. Maybe more.
There are ways to make it better. Use the physick flask that gives you health regen and forego the armor set so you can get a better armor set. Or use one of the regen incantations. And instead of using flame grant me strength I'd use a prawn for more defense.
"You wouldn't like me when I'm worked, to the bown."
"But your a skel..." Fall over dead.
odd question, but did you play the predecessor stress test recently, its the remake of paragon. Didn't know if you saw it and i know you really enjoyed paragon. hope you are doing well!
does this ash of war proc the tear in the flask for successive hits? Or does it have to be weapon attacks specifically?
Creative build!!!! Thank's for share it. Good job
I've been maining the Poker and always looking for a good build. I run it with pumped INT, as it makes the AoW do crazy damage. Nice to know those talismans and shield are available.
Does this defense buff stack with Crab meat or black flame protection?
It does!
@@RageGamingVideos what about holy ground? Might not be ideal in pvp but you get more HP Regen and defense
everything you wear is coming from the Death Birsd. I dont think this build is "invented" by accident. the dev team have this build in mind when they gave all the necessarily piece to the same enemy type
Ghostflame ignition sounds like a stories move for Magnamalo
or R. Kelly
Or an Avenged Sevenfold album
Was playing around with death poker and didn't even know it had the other 2 attacks with the AoW, I only knew about the explosion. Great video.

@@MeanAndPristine Yeah shame on me I missed it like a chump, what was I thinking...
@@LuckyLuch1 No worries, it’s general advice. From does their world building through it
Does health regeneration incant stack with armor regen?
@ragegamingvideos Is there anything in the dlc you think might be good to update this build with?
Great build. Assuming you kept everything the same but wanted to slot in a strength weapon what would you choose?
How do y’all not have a million subs already?! Some of the best videos out there
So is it good for NG+ runs ?
would a weapon with prayerful strike not be straight better?
just imagine the power of that build mixed with a faith / hp regen build with incantation and such....
thank you for not selling out literally and taking the bag of cash to sell runes for this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your content sells itself
Id say black flame protection is better for this build flame grant me strength only last 30 seconds and that extra defense will be super clutch
True but that’s a stat investment up to 30 faith using a weapon that’s already scaling with intelligence, and you need astronomical levels of vigor
@@MeanAndPristine 80 is too much vigor tbh, you could drop at least 10 points off of it and split them between int and faith
Does the Death's Poker have a critical health trigger?
Theres also a cerulean tear that refils part of your health when you're low, great for pvp

Making a hybrid of this and a poison crown build could be interesting..... that buff works if you poison yourself too
Speaking of those birds found one that gave me an axe yesterday, it spawned by castle morne if anyone wants to find it
The axe any good??
@@IIISWILIII haven't played with it much yet but it restores fp with kills not sure if it's set or percentage based
The damage of Ghostflame Ignition scales a lot more with Intelligence than the D scaling would suggest.
I’m sure other people have said this already but the more the merrier right?
Can I use death's poker properly if I have 80 int build?
the art damage still scales off of int tho.
Does the shield have to be left hand/on back or does it work like cinequedea and just need to be in slot to proc?
Just passive so can be on the back
The blasphemous could be a nice option for this build, especially for PvE
Healing per hit would kinda defeat the purpose of fighting at low health
Love you gentlemen’s Elden Ring content, but I really enjoy Hollows videos! Keep it up brotha!
Didn't know that the Royal Remains armor did that, tbh. Still wished the helm didn't have those bits of hair on it, tho.
Death poker favors INT or just the AoW??
It's not clear at first glance at the (+9/+10) scaling
clever rat, morion blade, monk head band, monk catalyst. that was a great glass build in demon souls lol that reminds me of that execpt here dmg output is not that high. forgot that the makoto drained your health on purpose was really easy to set up. guess the closet thing to set up the build is using seppuku.
I used the great rune for hp and I have the same health as before what should I do to fix it?
You guys have some really high quality elden ring content
I maxed out vigor plus items I’ve only reached 2835, yours is 100 points more, what I’m missing?
Love this build and just destroying people on pvp. You guys are freaking awesome. Between you and fightincowboy you guys have the best info. Thanks so much for your time and input into this game. Love you all.
I LOVE THIS BUILD
What other weapons could work with this build?? (any ideas)
Anyone know if those Death Bird weapons give the benefits even if you swap to other weapons in the load out?
Love the build I had the idea and tried it out on my first play through with half the equipment, now that I have 300+ hrs and seen this, ima try it out again. 😎
Is death's poker mandatory for this? Seems like there would be better sword choices. Or is it just because it is thematic?
Probably just thematic like imagine using a strength weapon with this setup or whatever you want even spells n shit
Death's poker isn't even a good fit. The ash of war itself scales with int and not dex.
That bird for the deaths poker is a real in in the sack to beat at lower levels.
This looks fun to play although I'm a bit skeptical on how it will do against the harder bosses, still I'm very interested in trying it out. Thanks!! 👍
Yeah, anything that swings on you like Iron Mike will still be difficult to handle
I could try it out on the endgame bosses. At the moment I have to do all of them on NG 1. But I have more lvl's to build around it maybe more int for the damage from the ashes of War. If you want I can report it later how it went. First on the list is the fire giant.
@@Soullessfabel Sure, it would be cool to hear you results. 👍 I will have to go get the weapon I think, I'll have to check later when I get online, I don't think I killed every one of those birds yet.
I just defeated the fire giant on NG 1 last night but I was using 2 Godskin Peelers (fire, frost), plus Mimic as well.
@@markadams5009 so I just defeated the fire giant! It took him four till five hits to kill me. The health regen is noticeable. The Ashes of War gives a huge advantage against giant bosses. Like the build Vigor 80 but I pushed int and dex to 60 for more damage. Maybe tomorrow I gonna try this out against Maliketh. Depends on how many Dungeons or items I gonna collect that I missed. All around a fun build. It can hit hard. And damn I love to see it against the other endgame bosses.
Oh and you could swap some amulets around. I used the blessed dew talisman for more health regen or the shard of Alexander for more damage.
Huh, I was planning something like this but using a heavy thrusting sword(great epee) with bloody slash as the ash so i could drop my own hp if i was just above the 20% threshold. the poker might be more fun tho
this is why I love From titles, there's just so many different ways to play these games unlike other RPGs "swing sword, maybe you applied a defense buff idk, just hit things without thinking too much"
Elden Ring is the first real true RPG that's been released in a long time. Best game this year by a mile.
Very neat build. Fortunatelly, I already have all the items from my first playthrough, I have to test this.
What's your damage reduction percents when at 20% hp?
For me it's almost 70% across the board with just the Blue Feather Branch Sword.
Kinda curious if this would work better or at least as good on anything that makes people expect less vigor with. Like may be faith build?
Thinking of tanky paladin build. And may be malenia rune to trade instead of morgott
No, you DON'T want to recover health. If you go to 21% you get one shot.
@@acrab6527 i mean he uses the regen set ?
Am I really getting recommended duel builds that use great runes? Do people not know reds can't use great runes? The dragoncrest talismans are also nerfed to 1/4ty effectiveness in pvp. But yeah great build good job using a great rune against people who can't have one.
Exactly what I need. I just got to grab that blue talisman.
I've had this shield forever grabbed it first playthrough and never bothered reading the description >.< Cheers
Some of the combo stuff is legit and some of it is bugged, the current consensus is thus;
- Quick-cast combos like 'Glintstone into Comet' or 'Standing Bestial Sling (single cast) into Honed Bolt' are all *OK*
- Instant-cast combos like 'Jumping Catch Flame into Theo's Magma/Dragon Claw' or 'Double Bestial Sling into Honed Bolt' are *NOT OK*
- The combos specific to "follow-up attack" incantations like 'Standing Catch Flame into follow-up Theo's Magma/Dragon Claw' and the specific case of the two Thorns sorceries are a sort of grey-area and they aren't necessarily more powerful than legit alternatives so *We're not really sure but it's probably not intended*
after watching this i decided to try death's poker with Helphen's Steeple. good for triggering frostbite
This is litteraly my build already
How does this build perform against harder bosses? You mostly show early game bosses when testing the weapon, but most weapons are good against them. I'd love to see you show more bosses
If you wanna do the pve version of it use Shard of Alexander, Magic scorpion charm, magic shouting crystal tear, intelligence knot crystal tear and whatever else you want on. Do the L2 + R1 and yeh pretty much kills any boss. My int’s usually at 60 since there are items that can boost your int to at least 80. Even tho it’s D in int It weirdly does more magic power than moonveil
Just use a Nagakiba with Spinning Blade and Bloodflame Blade, or Blackflame Blade for the bleed immune.
Man this amazing set up would be perfect for a viking berserker build who is at their very strongest when at low health, I just wish you could transfer armor bonuses so I could put the royal remains set bonus on a viking type armor like the Kaiden or bloody wolf set. I really hope fromsoft adds that feature in the future but I sincerely doubt they will ugh.. 😮💨
I feel like there was a missed opportunity on calling this the "Adrenaline" or the "Heroics" build lol
