    MR ELMORE NEEDS TO DO A VIDEO ON THE CLASSIC POSITION OF HOLDING THE GUITAR VERSUS THE FOLK POSITION.
    The folk position is for like your acoustic guitar. The electric guitar is great for the classic position.
    The classic position is good for fretting reach and guitar posture because it evens out the shoulders and reducing tension in your hands and shoulders and wrist.
    YOU DO NOT WANT THAT CARPAL TUNAL SYNDROME! IT HURTS BAD LIKE ARTHRITIS!

    • @mrelmoresmusiclab
      @mrelmoresmusiclab  4 месяца назад +2

      Thanks bud. Yes...I have been toying with the idea of how to do this. So...I was thinking of doing a new playlist where I reverse engineer and dissect songs. Kind of like an informal breakdown of that song and how we could use it's parts to create our own originals. Doe's that sound cool?
      Maybe a playlist or series called "Simple Song Breakdowns: 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins." Of course this would branch into multiple songs and genres over time and I think it would be super fun. I could also do a community poll or vote on which song people want me to do first. I was thinking 1979 by the Pumpkins, Redemption Song by Marley, or Just Like Heaven by the Cure as the first one. Give me some ones you would like to see analyzed. :)
      Let me know what you think of this kind of framework. This could lead to a whole bunch of other cool ideas as this all unfolds.

      Here's a couple of playlist ideas: Of course I will tweak them to taste. But some good starting points. I would of course put the artist and song title in there too.

      "Unraveling the Music: Inside the Studio"
      "Decoding Hits: Inside the Songwriter's Mind"

    It is best to start with 2 FINGER CHORDS THEN PROGRESS TO THREE FINGER CHORDS.
    WHHAT CALL THAT THING: FINGER THE CHORD THEN SLAP THE THIGH THEN FINGER CHORD AGAIN.
    Do it 20 TIMES PER CHORD EVERYDAY!

    IT IS CALLED DELIBERATE PRACTICE WHERE YOU KNOW AND LEARN YOUR GUITAR NOTES THEN YOUR MAJOR SCALE THEN YOUR INTERVALS, ESPECIALLY WITH THE SOLFÈGE TO DEVELOP YOUR EAR AND PLAYING BY EAR. ALSO YOU DEVELOP AND LEARN YOUR GUITAR PICKING STARTING WITH ECONOMY PICKING ON THE MAJOR SCALE THEN WITH A METRONOME. NEXT YOU LEARN AND DEVELOP YOUR ALTERNATE PICKING BECAUSE THE FRETTING HAND DOES NO GOOD IF YOU DO NOT LEARN RHYTHM WITH THAT PICKING HAND! 👈🏿

    DELIBERATE PRACTICE IS WHERE YOU PRACTICE AN AREA OF YOUR GUITAR PEDIGREE SLOWLY THEN UP THE TEMPO WITH THE METRONOME BY 2 TO 5 BEATS. NEXT YOU TRY IT 4 TIMES PER BEAT TILL YOU REACH YOUR TOP SPEED WHERE YOU PLAYING SLOPPILY. YOU THEN GO DOWN TO YOUR SLOWEST SPEED TO WHERE YOU PLAY IT CORRECTLY. FINALLY YOU GO UP TO WHERE YOU START MESSING UP; BUT, STOP AT THE AREA WHERE YOU MESS UP AND MAKE NOTE OF IT IN YOUR GUITAR JOURNAL.
    YOU PUT THE GUITAR DOWN FOR TO DAY ON THAT PEDIGREE OR MOVE ON TO NEXT PEDIGREE AREA.
    ONLY DO EACH PEDIGREE FOR NO MORE THAN 2 TO 5 MINUTES!
    MAKE NOTE MISTAKES AND WHAT YOU PRACTICED IN YOUR GUITAR JOURNAL.

    Thanks for this. It's still alittle confusing to me. I've never been able to make sense how a scale connects over the fret board. Maybe this will help if I watch it over and over again. When I'm playing I just can't see the connections. and usually just try to get by with a position or two but it's always from memorizing the positions, not from understanding the chord structure and how to find it on the fret board. I'm very much a technical player and not a creative one and it's very frustrating.

    Serious question, around 2 minutes into this video, when you are discussing the G-Triad, the fret board shown in the top right is what you see when you are looking down at the neck of your guitar. But when I am looking at your video, the fret board is now inverted from what you are actually playing. My question is, why are fret boards always shown inverted when giving a lesson?

    • @mrelmoresmusiclab
      @mrelmoresmusiclab  4 месяца назад

      You are correct and that is a great question. Not really sure why it has been done like this. So the string at the bottom of your chart is the low E string. The chart would also be the equivalent of putting your guitar on the floor with the headstock pointed to the left. I know guitar is crazy hard enough and then you have to learn how read this charts. Sometimes they are in a vertical format too. haha. Keep going bud! :) Let me know if that makes sense.

    • @marcd1981
      @marcd1981 4 месяца назад

      @@mrelmoresmusiclab I usually play along with a video I'm watching, which is why the inverted fret board doesn't work for me. I'm always figuring out which way my fingers will be positioned in my head, which takes away from paying attention to the lesson.
      There is a RUclips channel I recently found that shows the neck / fret board from the guitar players viewpoint, with a second camera that shows the strumming / picking patterns. Much smoother when learning something new.

    • @mrelmoresmusiclab
      @mrelmoresmusiclab  4 месяца назад +1

      @marcd1981 interesting. I will have to take a look at that. In the end try to burn the notes and pattens into your brain and the charts will become less necessary. I still hope you stick around. 👍🏻😎
