I apologize for the 20 seconds of black screen in the middle of the video, today is just not my day apparently :) I cut that section out and YT is currently processing the video, but it will take a little time to complete. Thanks for understanding (or not) and enjoy the video (or not)! LOL!
One thing about the measureit add-on: If you want the length between to vertices, even if the edge is split into pieces, you don't have to do that sum thing which you showed in the video. Simply select the two vertices between which you want to take the measure, and then click on Segment + Show. This will show the distance between the vertices, and it will even work if here is no edge at all between them.
Man I just cannot seem to get the giants editor figured out. Not your fault I think you've done a great job of explaining it I guess I'm just not that savy with the computer. Was wondering if you had time and wanted to creat a US map that is geared towards the small farmer. Small fields in other words. Grasslands and wooded areas all in valleys. If you look at areas like manville Indiana on Google maps you'll see what mean. I'm not a flat mapper guy either
Unfortunately, I wouldn't have the time until I'm finished with my current project. I'm already well over 1 yr into it, to give you an idea. If I was to ever take on a project for someone else, it would likely just be the base map and the deco would be up to the other person. What kind of issues are you having with the editor? For me, if I just keep working the basics, eventually things will fall into place and start making sense to me. Well, that and TONS of tutorials and reading :) Let me know if there anything specific I can help you with.
Hey that alright ain no biggie. Currently I'm having trouble finding the map I was working on after I save it. Second when I did find one of them it wasn't the right one lol. I thought I followed the directory you used but clearly not. Second when editing terrain or trying too I don't the the terrain box on the right hand side of the screen with all the adjustors on it. So far that all I've ran into
@@gabrielhemmer There's probably not much I can help with as far keeping track of your projects. It's helpful to keep them in your mods folder for testing purposes, and you'll always know where to find them. When you open a file in GE, it should open into the last folder that you used. If you don't see the adjusters, you can make them show up by clicking on "window" and choosing "terrain editing" from the list. If you don't like them on the right, you can always move that box to other areas of the editor. The boxes are docked, and they are all movable.
I actually found both of those things this morning. I'll keep playing around with things though. Thanks for the help and for making a series that helps people understand how to do it
how's it going with that software you was playing around with the one like substance painter? i'm tryna remember the name of the software but i can't seem to find the video you did on it.
The software is called "Instamat." I havent had the chance to really get into it since I use Substance Painter already and I'm rushing to finish a project. I'll eventually take the time one day to really get into it. ruclips.net/video/ymYibgQ6ELo/видео.html

Good info! I never thought about trying that, but I'll certainly put it to use. It pays to read the literature for ad-ons, etc.

or do you know what seems to be the problem?
Check your error log. I can almost guarantee that your fields are throwing an error.

@@AndreiNaghi1 It's located in the save game folder. You'll find all of your save games as well as the mods folder in that directory.
