My great grandfather knew the Presley family when Elvis was an infant not exactly personally but in a sort of business kind of way. My mom’s mother whom I called Gran was born in Tupelo in 1930 and didn’t know him personally since she was 4 when he was born. (They did only live a short distance so may have met him but not knowing it. She did become a massive Elvis fan though and was absolutely devistated when he died.) Her father whom I would have called Pappy was a very respected and well known life insurance salesman in Tupelo sold a policy to Gladys and Vernon on baby Elvis right after he was born. He then wrote the number for the policy on little Elvis’ foot for them! I learned this at like 7 or 8 when my grandma saw me watching his films one day and told me the story! I gladly and proudly claim this Elvis connection!
I know nobody is gonna read this but I used to have a Elvis Presley record player Christmas ornament in 2009 that thing was on my Christmas tree every year up until 2015ish when I lost it might buy a new one and keep the tradition alive
