Metroid Prime series is actually quiet linear and straight forward: Explore - boss fight - get item upgrade - use item upgrade to reach new áreas - repeat.
For some of us, we remember the old days when there was no online help or tutorials on where to go. Especially near the end trying to get all the symbols for the ruins and not knowing where they are. This was a time when you would call your friend and ask them if they knew what to do and if they didn’t, good luck because it was now a game of patience testing.
yeah that was basically almost all games of the 80s and 90s and its why i never beat any of them... either i didnt know what to do or they were too fucken hard. i did a lot of rage quitting in those days lol most games turned into a waste of time and $
Im with you except for one particular part towards the beginning. Your first trip to phendrana drifts makes you go all the way back to the first area of the game to get the boost ball power up then makes you trek all the way back to get the space jump. The hints don't help you here as it just tells you to go to the gravity room. This is the one part of the game that had me completely stumped.
And they even give you hints throughout the game. I just used this as a jumping off point to talk about game wikis in my larger video, you should check it out
I don't, I beat it (finally), but I actually took this short from my larger video about those walkthroughs. But most specifically about how I hate hate hate fandom powered wikis. ruclips.net/video/T-WRIjKNibk/видео.html
actually funny thing about the triple jump you can jump as the morph ball making it so it's only a double jump and u don't need the triple there's basically no risk of dying i played 2 hole play throughs till i figured that out
Hadn’t played this in at least 10 years but managed to pretty handily navigate the game. Though the game does help by essentially telling you where to go if you screw around long enough
@TibsTV it wasn't in the original it's the spring ball addition from the wii version you get after bombs. Dude instead of bashing the game just look it up before embarrassing yourself again.
I mean this game is a metroidvania grenre. Unlock new suit upgrades, backtrack old areas for either more health or ammo. After like 20 mins the game just tells you where to go too. The only part I can agree with this on, is the key search at the end of the game. You pretty much need the internet, unless you feel like deciphering the hints.
Oh yeah I agree, as I've said I'm other comments this is piece of my larger video talking about how games do rely too much on the wiki for certain things
@@TibsTV Oh for sure, it’s no fun constantly getting dead-ended, having to look back and forth between the game and phone just to know what to do. It takes away from the fluent experience!

Based on the tools you have and particularly any new weapons you got. I think now it feels a bit more jarring because an open world map has become the standard for most, and back tracking doesn't feel as bad because the map is so big, and you'll probably have to go to the same spot twice for the story. But since Metroid prime is from an era where linear shooters were king, it's then ground breaking exploration is now almost a pain point that has kinda been solved by open world design. But this short is actually a clip of my longer video where I use getting stuck as a way to talk about wikis and how much I hate hate hate fandom wikis

Yo at the part u keep dying press x then at the top of your jump plant a bomb with a then time your next jump to be at the top when the bomb goes off. Lol yes u can jump by pressing x without planting a bomb lol
Thats actually a really common problem with MP1. The game can be a bit iffy on directing you where to go and the developers knew it. Thats why in prime 2 all of the areas are closed off and you'll rarely need to go into another one unless you've finished the one you were already in.
Hey what gives? The other comments just said I was bad at the game lmao. I honestly don't think it would be as much of a problem if the map was slightly more readable. It's okay now, but finding a purple door over a blue one, is very hard
Lol this guy just be messing around. But if it’s actually true you don’t know where to go there’s a hint system in the game. For the save rooms there all okay! Back trackings okay if you know the map and elevator locations! That’s all I have to say.
