Anyone who can outdo Eric on his own solo is a legend, Gary Moore and Prince both did it on this song, and playing live. And George was no fool, he spoke of Gary's talent on several occasions.
Santana, Peter Frampton, and Jeff Healey's versions are also superior to the original which George and Eric did. Today, is the first time that I've heard Gary play it and I'm not surprised that I really liked what he played.Gary was awesome.
When Eric compose that solo it was in accordance with the Beatles and he played it original since then. It doesn't mean he couldn't outdo himself. The original solo is the best for me. The other ones they are cover. Eric made that solo.
@@ross9581 Well of course, but then every single performance of that song since it was recorded has been a cover, hasn't it? It's always an interpretation, even when George played/sang it. I happen to like syrup, especially when it is in tune ;-)
Although I enjoyed Eric and Princes’ playing on this song, Gary’s performance is my favorite. This is an absolute TREASURE! Saving this to my playlist. Gary rules!!!!
Prince was a selfish, self centered and egotistical child playing this. It was ALL ABOUT HIM! It was actually a very sad scenario to witness with all that showboating.
@@TC-dw6wg "Prince was a selfish, self centered and egotistical child playing this" No, he was not. Prince did exactly the performance that the song calls for. What do you think Gary Moore is doing here, dummy? Being subtle? The whole point of the song is for the guitarist to take over to play the part of the "guitar weeping". Dummy. You sound moronic and suspiciously bigoted. " and therefore didn’t grasp what that night was all about" Prince didn't "grasp what that night was all about"?? he said "gary was "the best"
@@kylehallacappellaman3435 whatever, man. who cares about that bullshit nonsense?? go knight yourself sir kyle.
Nice to see George having such a good time! He's enjoying the Gary's play!... A LOT! NICE TO HAVE THIS RECORDED!
Gary, Gary, Gary and forever Gary! Each note is brilliant and original and classic at the same time.
The ability to release your emotions through playing a guitar like that must be mind blowing....RIP George and Gary miss you both !!!!
Great guitar playing by Gary for the magnificent George Harrison.
True goosebumps with one of the greatest songs ever written 🙋 and GM is phenomenal! His guitar sound is so clean 😮 such an underrated guitarist.
I agree with everyone who's said George looks like he's beside himself with joy. And why not? Must've been a dream come true for Gary too. That smile says it all. Gary nailed the solo. Like he nailed them all. Epic....
Probably all the more special as they were friends. Over time, George has become my favorite Beatle. Just discovered Gary recently, and am blown away by him.
Sorry, Prince way outdid Gary Moore.
And George’s singing is out of tune, maybe bad PA.
Still, a nice document to have.
@@andyloftube And I personally disagree about Prince's solo being better due to the lack of melody especially, compared.
@@andyloftube Umm...no.
George wasn't a fool, rated Gary amongst the best in the world and his mate was Clapton! He should know. :)
Suzie.q Popcorn123 the greatest solo of all time
@Suzie.q Popcorn123 i'll check it out
Two absolute greats, wish they were still with us!!

This is priceless! Thanks for sharing something so rare! Gary Moore is amazing and has been overlooked for years. Miss these guys!
ruclips.net/video/gVf4TIrY0jI/видео.html
Gary Moore under rated? By whom? He was one of the greatest guitarists on the planet! He lived and breathed guitar! The man had deep soul! Plus, he could play anything from rock, jazz, metal, blues! R.I.P. Gary!
Appreciated after he died-very sad
Underrated is the word that should be removed from youtube vocabulary because is the 1st word that people think when feeling moved by a guitar player...no matter if it's hendrix, clapton, page, gallagher....
Leri completely agree. He was not under rated. Montreux and many other places with his gigs for thousands. .There are people who lost reality.
@@henrico7niente everybody knows who gary moore was.... He was simply too good... He was even in thin lizzy... But to me is always funny when watching a legendary guitar player shining... Somebody can't resist the temptation of writting " totally underrated" ....
Ah..totally agree T
A GREAT version of this Anthem ! George clearly enjoying Gary's playing ! Let's "not compare" it is NOT a competition. Let's just enjoy !
No one plays better than Gary Moore. He is the one of the a few best Blue, Jazz, Rock, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Guitar players in the world since Jimmy Hendrix passed away.
Just be thankful we can see this magic moment. Two legends who left us too early.

Great Gary Moore"s perfomance with the guitar , it really weeps
Brilliant , every once in a while I come across a diamond in a RUclips sea of mediocrity . I've never seen this before . Gary Moore was a master guitarist .It always amazed me how a left-handed man can play right-hand guitar so perfectly . Mark Knopfler is the same . As for George , what can you say , lead guitarist of the best band ever , genius , sadly missed . Thank you for showing this video , it's truly magic .
Rik Emmett from Triumph was another lefty who played as a righty. No Gary but a brilliant guitarist in his own right.
Duane Allman too
Am left handed and play right handed but I cannot play like that LOL
What a gem video. As a lefty. I think is was easy. Sure it took a while to get picking down. I could never imagine my right hand do what my left can on the fretboard.
Steve Morse is another one, and so is Shawn Lane, and they didn't let that slow them down exactly, right? Maybe we all do it wrong and should switch over to reach our full potential haha! :D
Biggest regret of my life is that I did not see Gary Moore live!
Phillip Greig I was given tickets for my birthday , out, standing. But he didn't play Parisian walkways!
snowdallblue bummer
Phillip Greig it's as if he was bored playing it?
Mine too
I agree, what a waste of time not to have seen a live performance with Gary Moore......!!!
Gary moore...mindblowing guitar perfection.
Such a soulful lead guitar in this...does make one weep. All hail Gary Moore.
The emotion of this song is incredible! This is the greatest guitar song of all time.
You've obviously never heard Steve Lukather's version then ;-)
nope! first Luthaker voice is too syrupy and then his play is not like Clapton, it is a cover, a copy of the original....@@theFluff7
Prince did rock this s#!+ tho.
Prince was a selfish, self centered and egotistical child playing this. It was ALL ABOUT HIM! He wasn’t nearly as mature (mentally, emotionally or spiritually) as the other musicians that night and therefore didn’t grasp what that night was all about. It was actually a very sad scenario to witness with all that showboating.
@@TC-dw6wg "Prince was a selfish, self centered and egotistical child playing this"
No, he was not. Prince did exactly the performance that the song calls for. What do you think Gary Moore is doing here, dummy? Being subtle? The whole point of the song is for the guitarist to take over to play the part of the "guitar weeping". Dummy. You sound moronic and suspiciously bigoted.
" and therefore didn’t grasp what that night was all about"
Prince didn't "grasp what that night was all about"?? Hey, stupid, the one who didn't "grasp what that night was all about" is you! On that same night, Prince got inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame also. That night was not all about George Harrison. You have NO IDEA what you are talking about! Thanks for proving you are a fool!
@@TC-dw6wg oh boo, he may have been a bit over the top but If George were there he would have been rocking out. Love Gary, Prince and, both of their versions 🤘🏻
@@TC-dw6wg No my friend, he was just Prince, uniq as Gary was,...
Moore and Harrison great rare video.brilliant
Moore did a fantastic job. His tone cuts through the mix and his phrasing is superb and fits the song perfectly; as memorable as Clapton's studio track.
Two monumental talents, both so sadly missed. RIP chaps.
Gary Moore, his music touched my soul like no other.
oh lord..i did not know these 2 played together, much less this song..it is epic by any and all standards..George Harrison, one of the Beatles, with Gary Moore..oh my God this is unbelievable..Thank you for the download..
Good moments are forever Thank you
I wish someone could take this track and cleanup so we can hear every single note clearly of this masterfully piece of guitar playing. This has to be in the top ten of all time guitar solos...
One of my favourite Guitarists of all time. He had so much emotion in his playing.
So sad that I never got to see him play live.
This solo is far better than Prince's version.
Life is so unfair! The likes of Gary and George should ineffect have been immortal for generations to enjoy!
GARY MOORE The Greatest guitarist that ever walked planet Earth.
Amen to that🎸
Yes!
Gary Moore and George Harrison performing together live. This is gold worth! Such a stunning performance! ❤
Gary Moore: Master of Tone
So hard to believe that we lost both of them so early in their lives. It’s great to see Gary tearing it up with George and Ringo. He deserved to be in that same rarified air. That Soldano amp sounds superb. Thanks for posting this.
I think that's the Greenie Les Paul too.
Don't know if everyone noticed, when, in the beggining of the second solo, George goes out the lights, and Gary Moore follows him, this isn't the first time that, Gary plays with someone so important and talented like he was, he shows extremely respect
George may have had very capable assistance on the original recording from his friend Eric Clapton, but this is one helluva upgrade to have Gary Moore playing with you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Gary Moore, incredible!
Marcel Chacon Costa Gary was a god of blues and George was a god of passion beats.
Amin Kharazmi t
After hearing a lot of songs Gary Moore starred in; Thrill Is Gone, While my guitar gently weeps, So many roads (John Myall & The BluesBreaker), Stand by me, Jimi Hendrix songs.
Gary Moore is legitimately one hell of a special guitarist... He's just someone special
Wowww!! One of the best versions, you can see the joy in Harrison´s eyes from seeing Gary Moore solo-ing.... that way!
The original White Album version was Eric Clapton on guitar
And you are aged? 14? Clapton played only on this track! He was invited into Abbey Road studios because of the friction in The Beatles. by George.
He was happy doing what he loved.
Diego J the best version is the original with the "slow hands" solo.
Renaud
Gary Moore was always my inspiration on guitar and George was incredible 💔
Damn! Thanks 🙏🏻. The best I’ve seen. George looks so happy. He’s having fun and Gary Moore is phenomenal! To me the best solo of this song I’ve heard even though the others are great Moore’s just seems to fit what I think George was thinking.

What a humble, genuine man George Was.
George knows Gary just killed it! Look at his face
Couldn’t agree more. Prince’s solo is a good one but this one just nails the feeling 100%. Having said that, few guitarists could pull blues notes like Gary.
@@MrSvante88
Prince at the Super Bowl in the rain during half time is where he killed it
I'm speechless, masterpiece
Close but no cigar. Check out Gary's 'The Messiah he will Come Again'.
Thanks for the upload! George and Gary were fantastic! Peace.
Legends, never die.
They do actually. Like everybody else.
....and then they become history...and then, lore.
I respectfully disagree. As long as we can watch (and more importantly, feel, this), these guys are as alive as ever. In all of us.
