I used to think oh, it's just a stalk of celery or a chunk of onion. It's no big deal if it goes bad. Now, I chop up the bits and pieces and freeze them. A small chicken bone? Freeze those single bones until you get enough to make broth. I am constantly getting great ideas from you guys
Check out some of the videos out in utube land about making stock. Most of the veggie scraps we toss when preparing veggies can be used to make a stock. Many freeze enough bits and pieces in a bag (a bread bag works) until they have enough to actually make a stock. The root ends of celery, the ends of carrots (I cut off the green from the leaves), pieces of limp cabbage, the peels from onions turn your broth wonderfully brown, the ends from onions, stalks from broccoli and cauliflower, cobs from corn, ends from green beans and tomatoes, ends from sweet peppers (I remove seeds and inner membrane). You can use the peels from carrots and assorted types of potatoes. I usually add a little salt, some black pepper, and sometimes some herbs.. Optionally add Bullion or bones. Once cooked slow and low (I use the crockpot) I run the stock through a strainer and often I remove the veggies then discard them, make a decision about tossing the bones then or later, and pick out any pieces of meat to return to the stock. Once I have stock, I start cleaning out the fridge to make a soup; these veggies, gravies and sauces, left over casseroles, meat, etc... will remain with the finished soup or stew so I cut them amd cook them accordingly. Often I do freeze a portion of the stock to make another soup or dish later.
@@terryhenderson424 another good way to use the broth is when you're making the stuffing you make on top of the stove replace the water with broth and makes it taste more homemade
Leslie Kanengisor,I agree with saving chicken bones! I make my own chicken bone broth in my slow cooker, could also make bone broth in an instant pot or pressure cooker, then when broth is done and cooled, pour into ice cube trays, silicone muffin cups, freeze, then remove from the form and store in zip lock freezer bags or vacuum seal them and keep at the ready for making broth based soups!👍
I love the fact that you show how to use a freezer properly. So many people just use it for convenience food bought from the supermarket. I often think people don't do things not because they don't want to but they don't know how to and what seems simple common sense if you've always been shown can be a revelation for those who have never been taught. Thanks
I keep homemade pizza crust, homemade pizza sauce, pepperoni and montzerella cheese in the freezer. If grandkids want a pizza it only takes minutes for crust to thaw and they love putting it together. Last week I learned how to make homemade hot tamales.
I see you used foil to line your sheet for the hot dogs...If you have any silicone liners just use and wipe clean over and over saving your foil...I bought a roll that you cut to length of whatever you wish to line..saves me a lot on parchment paper and foil...
Thanks for the video! One thing I make is rice and then freeze it (pre-scored) in a 9x13 plastic container. Once frozen, break into squares and put in a gallon ziploc bag and you have rice ready anytime you want it. Makes cooking go quicker if you've had a long day.
I take lemon. Ginger and Tumeric. Put into a blender with a cup or so with water. Pour into ice cube trays. Freeze. Then add to bags. All ready for one aday in my green smoothie
I don’t do it anymore, but when kids were younger I always kept breakfast foods in the freezer for school mornings. They didn’t really like cereals and stuff like that. They liked hot foods. I’d cook sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles etc and freeze it. I’d also make breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. They got a breakfast they liked and I didn’t have to actually cook at 7 in the morning.
I save all the veggies that I cut the ends from, no matter if its beets, lettuce, or even the skins from the garlic, just whatever veggies I get and throw them all into a bag in the freezer. When I have a large enough bag or two of it, I dump it all into a large stock pot and make broth with it. I had never thought of adding corn cob to it. Thanks for that tip. What a fantastic idea.
I'm sure you all know this... But in case someone doesn't. When you use ziplock bags, place the food on, close almost all the way then submerged the bag into a deep bowl of water slowly... Making sure no water gets in. The water pushes out all the air making it "close" to a food saver. Just keep in mind that they do leak air so you can't keep it as long but it's a good tip 😘

My son and I did this with brats, hot dogs, chicken thighs and legs. Our beef and pork are purchased from a local farmer, processed with a local meat processor and put in packaging for two people.

Hi Auntie Emmy and Uncle Paul! I always have frozen homemade pot pies for quick dinners and giving when someone needs an easy meal. I make the filling and use store-bought crust when it's on sale I stock up and keep it in the freezer as well. The other day I was exhausted and didn't want to cook - so I put a pot pie in the oven and cooked a side of rice to stretch it for my family of five (I have three teenagers so they eat a lot). Such a great way to use up leftovers like holiday meats and to stretch meals. Also, I do invest in a purchase of beef and pork directly from a farmer - while the price seems high I'm able to get organic grass-fed beef for my family for just $9 a pound - including steaks and roasts. It's such savings and a blessing.
I keep a rotating supply of ground beef, ground turkey, chicken breasts, and sausages in our freezer. Also a zip lock bag full of scraps and bones to make broth.
I always have nuts, ravioli, and shrimp. Nuts for baking, ravioli for a quick cool weather meal. Shrimp for a quick summer dinner. Shrimp tacos, shrimp salad, shrimp scampi. We can take out as much as we like at one time and a little goes a long way!
Yes, for sure I thought they were going to make corn syrup for pancakes like grandma used to do during the depression. That corn broth looked delicious! 😉
You don’t need that much water to cook your corn on the cob . Save energy by using less . Similar to steaming . Or leave the husk on , soak in water and grill it. Tastes yummy . We do this all thru the season so we have corn all winter .
When I bake potatoes always throw in an extra one. I slice that down and put slices on a pan and freeze. Throw in a bag. Pull the bag out of freezer and make fried potatoes as a side. Some butter or oleo and a tad bit of veggie oil in pan and sprinkle with old bay or tiny cacchieri seasoning. Saute on very low heat and turn till crispy. Takes the place of french fries for my husband's french fry addiction. Always have a bag of large shrimp I got on sale to take a few of a time out to add to canned clam chowder, quiches, or pasta & shrimp.
I Always make soup,or freeze the water, from boiling Brokkoli,or carrots. Or any Other vegetables. It's a Lot of vitamins you save. And water. Thank you for the great Idea to helping the birds🐦
So glad you are better, Emmy!! Do you neither one like creamed corn? I scrape the cobs with the back of a knife and add that loveliness to some of the bags of corn to make creamed corn. I think you could still use the remaining cobs for broth.
Leftover vegtable soup ,bread, frozen veggies and frozen fruits for a quick nutricious milkshake, or yoghurt ice-cream to make in a sec. On a hot day😉😎
Glad to see you are back to health Emmy. We love it when Paul gets into the video with his good sense, easy and homey dyi's. Always lovely to spend these few minutes with you both. 🤗 A lovely
One thing I always keep in my freezer is a bag of chicken 🐔 tenders from Costco. I can pull out as many as I need to make lots of different meals. Chicken soup, chicken chili, baked chicken with a Pecorino/bread crumb crust, chicken tacos in the crock pot with a cup of salsa, etc.. Endless meals that are always delicious.
You and Paul are the best! Thank you for always being so kind and thoughtful! Your son is so fortunate to have you both for Parents! Just the sweetest two people on You Tube!
Great Idea for the ant mote. I will definitely be making one. The one thing I keep in my freezer is a roasted tomato sauce. As the tomatoes ripen, cut them in large chunks add 1 onion and several fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with olive oil and roast in a 400 degree oven for 40-50 mins or until most of the liquid is absorbed. Dump into a blender and blend until smooth put in a Ziploc or food saver bag and freeze flat. You can thaw and eat it as is or add cooked ground beef, mushrooms etc. You could add garlic when you roast the tomatoes but I think that makes it too strong so I sauté it fresh and add it before eating. Serve over pasta. Always a quick meal when you don't feel like cooking. As the harvest comes in, you can make it in small batches and don't have to drag out all the canning supplies.
I buy fresh fruit and vegetable produce, save some of the the seeds and stalks to root and then grown in my tiny NYC bucket garden. Seeds from the dollar store are a fantastic buy and yes they do grow!
Since it's just the two of us (also!), I like to have pork chops (cut from a whole loin by me) and chicken breasts (one large cut in half horizontally) in bags with different marinades so that I can pull them out for a meal. They thaw pretty quickly and I pick sides according to the different marinades I use. This was a great video!
Always have Naan breads for home made pizzas or toast for soup, etc. also when on very good sales, frozen raw cleaned shrimps which we pare with pasta, rice, couscous, etc to stretch since they are quick to defrost and cook when tired and stressed.
The main staple in our freezer is wild partridgeberries & blueberries. We go to the woods seasonally and pick all that we need. We grow all the raspberries and apples we need in our own backyard. love your videos they always give me new inspiration. Thank you.
Instead of throwing broccoli stalks out I dice them up and freeze them. Once I have enough stored up I make broccoli soup with them. I have some milk in the fridge that's ready to expire so I'll use it in the broccoli soup I'm going to make in the crock pot tomorrow 😊
Here are two videos we have made on that topic. If you have any other questions we would be happy to answer! ruclips.net/video/5qtLvlgyj7I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/OeU5Q-aZ9Ww/видео.html
Catina first off...THANK YOU!!!!! OH MY GOSH! You are the sweetest ever! The jar was so beautiful! It will go perfectly at the Little House!! So generous of you as well!! You will get a proper thank you in the mail but I couldn't wait to tell you!! We both love it! Big giant hug!!!
What I keep in the freezer to have on hand is a good frozen pizza for the nights when I just can't deal. I also keep a chicken and pasta skillet meal for if company comes or if I need a brainless but yummy meal.
Glad you are feeling better. One thing I always have in my freezer is turkey sausage. I can quickly thaw it out, add veggies and pasta and have a meal.
I’m glad you’re feeling better. I’ve been working in my flowerbeds and planting tomato plants and I just got to watch your video today. One thing I keep in my freezer is cooked ground beef and ground turkey. Something we do where I work is like a mini farmers market. If any of us has extra vegetables or fruit- potatoes etc. we bring it in and we swap with each other. I brought in some zucchini and took home some tomatoes. A lady at work needed a vacuum and I had one I was going to sell- so I gave it to her and in exchange she gave me a large bag of her fresh blackberries and she made me a blackberry cobbler as well!! 😊 Just a great way to share and nothing gets wasted. Thank you again for another wonderful video!
When I make soup/chili/etc. I always make a "vat" of it, we eat some, then I freeze the rest! And, I usually cook it real early in the morning or on a cool day. I can pull it out anytime ... those that come over unexpectedly, the day you don't want to cook, etc. throw some bread and salad with it and boom! :) Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)
@@FrugalMoneySaver Thank you, Emmy! But, really, who doesn't like to eat! :) I just love your channel, it's just so "soothing" for me to watch and I can enjoy my coffee--PLUS, it really helps me to be even more frugal! You guys are just great! Have a great "Memorial" weekend this weekend..eat good, fellowship, and don't be frugal with the heart! :) Blessings, Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)
We always have extra quarts of soup in the freezer. We make large batches, and freeze extra, for quick meals. We too love to feed our hummingbirds....but last night we had a bear come through and knocked down 2 feeders, one of which he bent the shepherd's hook into an L shape. This will make feeding the hummingbirds a challenge this year. Years past the bear only passes through when he first wakes feom hibernation, which he did about 3-4 weeks ago. It was too cold for hummingbirds yet. Hopefully he will be done visiting us for the year. Hubby will straighten the shepherd's hook, and we will get the feeders back out.
I bought corn from Shoprite and all I do is take off just the outer layer of husk and snip some of the silk off and put in freezer bags as is. You take it out when ready to use in the morning or night before and let it thaw. Husk it when ready to boil or leave on and bake or microwave. Nothing like corn on the cob!! There are many pins on Pinterest about it too
What a great idea on the hummimgbird feeder. I have lots of little hummers and birds. So far no ants in my feeders, but will try this if I ever get them. Glad you are feeling better. 🙂
Loved Paul’s DIY solution for the hummingbird feeder. We did have ants last year and if it occurs again we’ll try his diy. Yes…..make your own feeder food. It’s cheaper plus healthier since no red dye. What do we have consistently in the freezer. Everything….lol. Hope you have a fun belated picnic or barbecue or potluck with family this weekend….😊
The one thing I always have in my freezer is nuts--usually pecans and/or walnuts. They're not really economical but pack a lot of nutrition in a small package. I use them in baked goods, cereal, salads and sometimes just to eat. It only takes about five minutes for them to thaw and by freezing, they never go rancid.
Freezing nuts is a great way to buy an extra or few if you see them on sale for some savings. Also, to buy bigger bags if there is a savings or just for convience.
Add my name to the frozen nuts group! I also freeze chocolate and butterscotch chips. Since both the chips and nuts are primarily used for making cookies or baking at my house, I can buy big bags of them (which is usually cheaper) and I always have some when I need them. This works for shredded coconut, bits of Heath bars and any other sort of baking add ins.
ex nyker here! I love listening to you talk!! it sounds like home and I love your videos...been binge watching since I found you!! blessings to you both!
Glad you're feeling better. Thanks for the reminder about the corn broth. My neighbor gives me a feed bag full of corn every summer. It's too much for us. We usually peel it and food saver it. Then when I need corn on the cob for my shrimp boil, I pull out one of these packages. I think this year I'm going to cut the corn from the cob and freeze and then make corn broth. I'm always needing some kind of broth, especially in the instant pot. This week I cooked a pot roast in the crockpot. I saved the almost two cups of juice, had to add a little water, and saved it in one cup portions. I'm really trying not to let anything go to waste. Tonight I'm having leftover potatoes for dinner. That's it, just potatoes. I usually keep a bag of meatballs in the freezer. I can add spaghetti sauce and noodles or mushroom soup and rice for a quick last minute meal.
Actually I keep your sausage, potato, peas recipe in our freezer. I also make sure I have a copy of this recipe to pass on to whomever is enjoying it with us. A real winner. Going to splurge and buy a food saver. Glad you're feeling better.
I always have cooked meatloaf...I can slice it and use with fried eggs, add to pasta, make chili, soups, have it cold in summer with a potato or pasta salad, in sandwich etc....I just make two meatloaves and freeze one. Little Girl Dog also added that she likes it as a rare treat!
I freeze the juice from canned fruit for stir fries or baking. Also, tomato paste in small amounts for pizza or soups and stews. I always buy extra corn when it's cheap. My favourite thing to freeze is lasagna. One lasagna gives us three meals, a very good return for the effort. Tonight I made my first batch of chicken stock, inspired by you. We have cut way back on our grocery bill, and our food waste, since I started watching your channel. Thanks for the great ideas.
Good tip with the bird feeder. what I keep in the freezer is a gallon size zip lock baggie to put veggie scraps to make stock. otherwise it's a bunch of premade meals.
Great ideas and video! In the freezer I keep bags of all fresh vegetables and fruit that we can't eat. I have cut up carrots, bell peppers, onions, corn, peas, cherries, grapes, berries, and herbs. I can combine the veg with protein and stir fry for a super quick meal anytime. When I steam or saute fresh veg, I strain out the cooking water and keep it for veg broth. I soak fresh fruits in water to clean them. Then I use that water in the garden. I freeze everything to get the last drop out. Thanks for these creative suggestions!
I used to buy the small meatballs by dellalo. Now, hard to find, so I buy a 12 pack of Aldi meatballs and split each into 4 small pieces; freeze them; and use for various soup recipes, including wedding soup-my fave!
Hi, Emmy and Paul , I’m so glad your feeling better, I always have lemon juice and lime juice in the freezer I grate the lemon rind and freeze it for baking and then squeeze the lemons and put the juice in ice trays and once there frozen I take them out of trays and put in ziplock bags so nice to have them on hand when you need them ,take care and have a great day .
The video opening was just gorgeous ! We love our food saver also. Thank you for their website. They have promos on bags , YAY ! I always keep my homemade spaghetti sauce in the freezer. Summer may not be the greatest time for a heavy meal. However , a rainy day , I'll make ziti or use a penne .
Your videos of operating the food saver were helpful. I don't have one, but I would like to get one. In the meantime, I just use ziplock freezer bags and push out the air. I will package up and freeze leftovers in Pyrex glass containers, because they are freezer, oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe. I have frozen stuffed bell peppers, lentils, mashed potatoes, casseroles, egg bakes, homemade frozen burritos and breakfast sandwiches. The possibilities are endless.
I'm sorry that you weren't feeling well. Hope you're all better now. I love the tips for vac-sealing/freezing/saving your pic-nic/cookout foods! This would come in very handy at Christmastime, etc. when there are lots of candies, cookies, leftovers and such! I have to admit that I've tossed a lot of leftovers and goodies that were getting past their prime during holidays. Now I can seal and freeze things before they start to get stale. (I wouldn't mind a Christmas candy with my coffee right now! lol) Love the tips and ideas in this video! Things we keep in our freezer all/most of the time: Chickens that we've raised on pasture...Cream Cheese...Regular (block) Cheese...Butter....Chicken Broth...Frozen Vegetable Blends...and I make microwaveable meals for my Mom, and I keep a few random ones of those in our freezer for busy times or when I'm not here to cook.
Wouldn't you compost the corn cobs? I need a food saver. I asked my sister for one for Christmas one year. She got me something else instead....so it's all her fault!! 😁 Not! Maybe I'll repeat the request this year....or just go buy one for myself!😊 The humming bird feeder is ingenious! Kudos to Paul! Emmy, I'd like to know if the berries stayed in good shape to be recognized as each different kind of berry, or if they kind of went to a mushy state when thawed, please.
So good to see your happy face. We’ve missed you. We really utilize our freezers. When brisket goes on sale, we make a bunch of BBQ brisket and use the food saver to freeze meal sized portions. I bake chicken breasts & freeze them to use for rotisserie chicken recipes. I precook bacon & freeze it in breakfast sized portions. We freeze butter, some cheeses, bread, fruit, hot dogs, precooked brats, pancakes, leftover lasagna, meatloaf and even cornbread. It’s so easy to grab a main course from the freezer & add fresh fruits and veggies. It’s our version of fast food.
Another good source for Food Saver bags is Kohl’s. If you wait until the bags are on sale and a Kohl’s cash promotion is happening, you can score some huge savings.
I saw once on EmmyMade video a recipe for corn cob honey which I had forgotten about until I saw the corn cob soup stock. I have used watermelon rind (just the white part, not the green part)for a dahl but I haven't tried pickling yet or making a chutney. I love my food saver and I have the add on sealers for sealing mason jar tops which is great for dry canning. I made a batch of foraged blackberry jam that wasn't sweet enough so I use it in vanilla yogurt for the sweetness and I reseal the jar with food saver. I like to dehydrate fruits & vege's I get on sale and then seal in a mason jar. I buy the canning lids from the dollar store and I reuse the large Classico pasta sauce Atlas Mason jars for dry canning pasta, rice, dried beans, lentils, dehydrated potatoes etc. Good viewers choice.
Great video today! I loved our food saver but it finally bit the dust...now on my list for Christmas! I had a very productive holiday weekend batch cooking. I got a 10lb bag of chicken hind quarters for $6.00 (with a coupon) so cut up and repacked into smaller portions, then I bought a 10lb chub of ground beef for $29.90. Froze some into portions, and with the remaining I made chili, burger patties, pasta sauce, meatloaf and fajita mix! I figured over 30 meals in all. Now I’m ready for anything! Lol 😀
I'm so glad you're feeling better. Not a fun way to spend a holiday, yet you still put together a great video-thank you! The Foodsaver tips and the corn broth are going to help out a lot. I thought that was going in another direction because my grandmother would render corn syrup from hers. Our little auxilliary freezer holds stock, broth, and veggies prepped to go into soups and stir fries. Also cooked chickpeas, beans, and all the rices for quick meals. The main refrigerator freezer has chopped meats in packets for quick meals, plus soups, casseroles, frozen breads, and cheeses.
I don't have room for composting, but I made a wormery and that's where my foodscraps go. In a few weeks, my first batch of compost will be ready! I am already using the worm 'water' as plant feed. In my freezer there is always a piece of ginger and some hot Scottish bonnet peppers. Love those. And if I can score a blok of tempeh, that goes in the freezer too. And can't live without frozen blueberries. I've recently discovered that frozen grapes are like little wonderfull popsicles, lovely on a hot day.
I am so glad you did the FoodSaver today I have been on the fence a long time about buying one thank you for helping me make up my mind love you guys have a great day
If you scrape each cob with your knife blade, the juice from the cob makes creamed corn. Sweet and delicious.
So good. Definitely a labor of love though. 🤣
I’m surprised that they don’t do this after scraping the cobs, then make the broth after

GREAT ideas! Thank you LadyD!
I Always make soup,or freeze the water, from boiling Brokkoli,or carrots. Or any Other vegetables. It's a Lot of vitamins you save. And water.
Thank you for the great Idea to helping the birds🐦
Thanks for watching Marianne!
So glad you are better, Emmy!! Do you neither one like creamed corn? I scrape the cobs with the back of a knife and add that loveliness to some of the bags of corn to make creamed corn. I think you could still use the remaining cobs for broth.
We “milk” the cobs as well. Then fry the corn and then freeze it.
Thanks Susan! Great idea!
Leftover vegtable soup ,bread, frozen veggies and frozen fruits for a quick nutricious milkshake, or yoghurt ice-cream to make in a sec. On a hot day😉😎
Great items to keep on hand!
Always have soft fruit from last years garden crop, peas, chicken breasts, sous vide, vacuum packed beef short ribs and lots more in our freezers.
Sounds great Sue!
Glad to see you are back to health Emmy.
We love it when Paul gets into the video with his good sense, easy and homey dyi's. Always lovely to spend these few minutes with you both. 🤗
A lovely
Thanks so much Merryl!
Endless
meals that are always delicious.
Yes, that's a great item to keep handy!
You and Paul are the best! Thank you for always being so kind and thoughtful! Your son is so fortunate to have you both for Parents! Just the sweetest two people on You Tube!
Oh you are so kind! Thank you!!
So glad your back on your feet!
Thanks so much Connie!
Yes, we freeze roasted tomatoes too! So good!
And Please save and reuse those sipper bags from the berries!!! They are special type bags for the freezer!!
PERFECT for that 🌽
Yes! Thanks!
Perfect! Great idea Sharon!
Always have Naan breads for home made pizzas or toast for soup, etc. also when on very good sales, frozen raw cleaned shrimps which we pare with pasta, rice, couscous, etc to stretch since they are quick to defrost and cook when tired and stressed.
Love Naan!!
The main staple in our freezer is wild partridgeberries & blueberries. We go to the woods seasonally and pick all that we need. We grow all the raspberries and apples we need in our own backyard. love your videos they always give me new inspiration. Thank you.
Oh how I would love more fruit trees! Sounds wonderful!
Instead of throwing broccoli stalks out I dice them up and freeze them. Once I have enough stored up I make broccoli soup with them. I have some milk in the fridge that's ready to expire so I'll use it in the broccoli soup I'm going to make in the crock pot tomorrow 😊
Love that! Paul doesn't care for the stems so this would be great!
Can you please share the strategies you used to enable you and your husband to retire early?
Here are two videos we have made on that topic. If you have any other questions we would be happy to answer!

Great items to keep on hand!
I agree y'all are the best channel!❤
We always keep a little bit of everything 😀 hungry is not what we do. Amen 🙏🙏
I love that! I have those "I just can't deal" nights too...LOL
Glad you are feeling better. One thing I always have in my freezer is turkey sausage. I can quickly thaw it out, add veggies and pasta and have a meal.
Great idea Cindy!!
@@FrugalMoneySaver thank you sweet friend
Love the idea of bartering! Thanks for sharing Kathleen!
Yum Dawn! I bet you are an amazing chef!
I recently emailed you about the food saver. Thank you so much for addressing this in this video. I love your channel.
So happy it was helpful!
We always keep bread in the freezer. We buy it cheap at the bread store and we’re always prepared for sandwiches or French toast
Love keeping bread in the freezer too!
When I watch your videos I feel like I am spending time with old friends! Love your videos! ❤️
YAY! Thanks!! That means a lot!
Always in my freezer - several bags of broccoli florets. They're great for meals and my dogs love a piece of frozen broccoli in a hot day.
Yes, frozen veggies are the best!
@@FrugalMoneySaver glad you are feeling better, Emmy!
My husband made a similar device to stop ants on our hummingbird feeder. Works great!
Yes! It does!
I freeze corn as well. I do put it over a bunt pan but I use my electric knife. It makes it so easy.
So smart!
Love my Food Saver!
Oh my goodness a bear???
Thank you for another great video with great ideas. Hope you are feeling better and have a great picnic this weekend. x
Thanks so much Katrina!
I always have blocks of tofu ( purchased on sale) and tempeh in the freezer.
Perfect!
There are many pins on Pinterest about it too
Thanks for sharing Karen!
What a great idea on the hummimgbird feeder. I have lots of little hummers and birds. So far no ants in my feeders, but will try this if I ever get them. Glad you are feeling better. 🙂
Thanks so much Sherri!
Thanks so much Sheryl! Sending a hug!
I do this too. I buy a big bag of raw almonds from Costco and I stick it in the freezer.
I do this as well! It's something my mom taught me. They thaw so fast!
Yes, we store nuts as well Alice!! Very healthy!
YAY!! So happy you are here! Thanks Melissa!
Just a beautiful sunny 🌞 day today and I love your flowers too
Thanks o much Nici!!
Sounds perfect! That's so kind of your neighbor to share!
Actually I keep your sausage, potato, peas recipe in our freezer. I also make sure I have a copy of this recipe to pass on to whomever is enjoying it with us. A real winner. Going to splurge and buy a food saver. Glad you're feeling better.
YAY! One of our all time favorites!!
Please tell Little Girl Dog Dix sends hugs!
Donna that is wonderful! So happy our channel is helpful!
Glad you are better, Emmy. I keep frozen ravioli bought on sale in freezer. Quick dinner! Cooks in 6 min. Prevents takeout!
Yes, that's a great freezer staple!
Good tip with the bird feeder. what I keep in the freezer is a gallon size zip lock baggie to put veggie scraps to make stock. otherwise it's a bunch of premade meals.
Premade meals are the best!
I love the idea of making corn cob broth! I have been wasting corn cobs over the years. Never too old to learn new tricks!👍
You are so right!
Perfect! Great tips!
I use my Food Saver all the time! A great investment, and yes, sales on the bags/rolls from the website are cost savings!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching Bonnie!
I used to buy the small meatballs by dellalo. Now, hard to find, so I buy a 12 pack of Aldi meatballs and split each into 4 small pieces; freeze them; and use for various soup recipes, including wedding soup-my fave!
Oh that's a great tip Carla!
Oh I love that!
So happy the video was helpful!
When I make a cake, I bake it in 3 small containers. Frezze 2. Just thaw and make a little frosting for it.
Perfect Paula!
I'm so glad you feel better.
Oh thanks so much Loriann!
We had to take down our feeders because of bees. Sure don't need bees creating a swarm on our back porch.
Oh no that's not good!
Hummingbirds are awesome!👍
The best!
Always have leftover homemade soups and stews stored in two cup containers in my freezer.
So smart Donna!
Yes, Amy you are right! The freezer is our friend lol!
Great ideas! Answering your question, turkey soup. Great way to use up the leftovers and quick and easy meals. Freeze in cottage cheese containers.
Perfect Sandy!
I'm gonna try that trick with the hummingbird bird feeder! Thanks for sharing 😊
Glad it was helpful Kelsey!
(I wouldn't mind a Christmas candy with my coffee right now! lol)
Love the tips and ideas in this video!
So glad you enjoyed the video!! Thanks so much!
Love the video! I always keep tortellini and homemade pesto for the nights I don't feel like cooking!
Absolutely! We all have those night for sure!
Oh, so glad you're feeling better...it was a great video, so full of info and well worth the wait. Thank you Paul and Emny
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Wendy!
Wouldn't you compost the corn cobs?
I need a food saver. I asked my sister for one for Christmas one year. She got me something else instead....so it's all her fault!! 😁 Not! Maybe I'll repeat the request this year....or just go buy one for myself!😊
The humming bird feeder is ingenious! Kudos to Paul!
Emmy, I'd like to know if the berries stayed in good shape to be recognized as each different kind of berry, or if they kind of went to a mushy state when thawed, please.
I will let you know when I defrost them for sure! They looked beautiful though!
Great idea to keep ants out of the Hummingbird feeder.
We keep Cauliflower Pizza ready to bake in our freezer for a quick meal.
Pizza is a great item to keep on hand!
Love that! Much healthier than fast food too!
Another good source for Food Saver bags is Kohl’s. If you wait until the bags are on sale and a Kohl’s cash promotion is happening, you can score some huge savings.
Oh yes! True! Thanks!
I've never used my FoodSaver for jars! Thanks!
Hi Emmy and Paul. Glad you are feeling better Emmy 😊 Hope your BBQ this weekend goes well.
Thanks so much Karen!
Lol 😀
Oh that's wonderful!! Great job Stephanie!
Great freezer items Sandra! Thanks!
Frozen grapes are so good!
wormery is great.
I always have frozen veggies and frozen bananas in the freezer. veggies for quick meals, and the bananas are for smoothies. :)
Perfect!
I am so glad you did the FoodSaver today I have been on the fence a long time about buying one thank you for helping me make up my mind love you guys have a great day
Sherry so glad the video was helpful!
