Finally. I can hire my son and my brother to defeat me so I can merge with me to become myself. Thanks a lot Mr. Tulok!
Featuring Vergil
(Maxor Moment)
Devil may cry summery
Is that me? Is that me stringer than me?! I'll kill me
DMC5: Where Vergil hires Vergil's brother to go after Vergil who stole the arm of Vergil's son so they can kill Vergil and Vergil becomes Vergil again.
With DLC where you get to play as Vergil.
I only played the reboot/spin-off (DMC) and honestly had no idea how weird the mainline story was.
I did enjoy DMC, and thought the hate around the game was mostly "I don't like you changed my fav character/story" but I am willing to be educated.
I know people will probably complain about the Bard levels, but lets be honest, what is inspiration but another form of MOTIVATION
The proper complaint is there isn't enough Bard levels.
Just rename them to Motivation Dice
Besides, he reads poetry, does violin solos, and tap dances, that's a lot of bard power!
I know I did, but this build, along with the Dungeon Dudes' Hex Bard video and YMBA's Swords Bard video, opened my eyes to the truth.
Hexblade 1/Sword Bard X is now my favorite build.
I do want Vergil’s patron to be William Blake, he’s the only one who understands Vergil’s need for POWER.
Ironically, even though you said Virgil can stop DnD fights from being just two people hitting each other until one of them passes out, that's exactly what happens when Dante and Virgil fight in DMC3, canonically. Since they can tank sword swipes, they literally just attack each other without trying to avoid damage, and are constantly bleeding all over the place the whole time.
They each only take one hit from each other. Dante when Vergil forces his awakening, and Vergil when Dante wins the clash in the final boss cutscene
_Steel Wind Strike_
So many people have no idea this amazing spell exists. It's a must-have for Vergil.
Steel wind strike is Judgement Cut right?
@@eldragon5247 Judgement Cut End.
Honestly, I'd nerf the base damage and make it lower level. It's such a cool spell that I think more classes should be able to use it and more often.
I made my own Vergil build that’s 11-9 Kensei-Bladesinger because Sharpen the Blade +3 makes a pretty good Yamato and his bladesong is the theme music that’s constantly emanating from him at all times. Kinda wish you kept going into Warlock for Relentless Hex but that sacrifice was well worth it for more bard.
enemies: wait what the hell is that noise-
**breaks into building**
*I AM THE STORM THAT IS APROOOOOCHINNGGGG*
any chance you can be a pal and say what order you took that?
@@ashstyles756 order? Well it’s first level monk so you get proficiency with strength and dex saves. Other than that it doesn’t really matter
I’ll be honest, I was expecting echo knight cross classed with blade singer, but, I’m not at all disappointed, in fact, this seems like a pretty solid and fun build
I like how Tulok got both Vergil's and V's abilities into one character. But I do agree with you. If I were building only Vergil, I'd go with the Echo Knight Bladesinger
What level spread would you recommend? I kinda wanna build this now
@@demonkingsparda
Levels 1-2: Fighter
Levels 3-16: Wizard, Bladesinger. Sword Burst & Magic Missile for Summoned Swords, Steel Wind Strike for JCE, a whole bunch of teleportation spells, and whatever else you wanna add to your list.
Levels 17-20: Back to Fighter for Echo Knight and two ASIs.
For stats, you'll wanna be focusing on DEX and INT for your swordplay and spells. If both of those are capped off, invest in CON for more Unleash Incarnations and HP.
Edit: Forgot to mention Tenser's Transformation for SDT
@@aliasanonymous5387 This was very helpful, thank you.
@@aliasanonymous5387 can't forget transformation for SDT!
Every action has inspiration bonus because he's always MOTIVATED
The thumbnail had my curiosity, but now
YOU HAVE MY MOTIVATION
That's a fair take on stats. If everyone can move mountains, it is just average, in a world with different rules... That's a viable idea for a super hero game
Yeah, I can totally see that logic, although I feel like it doesn't really apply to Vergil specifically, since he is canonically the strongest of the three Sparda descendants
No hesitation, I need a Vergil in my D&D games
good luck, because your group might get a little more motivated once vergil shows up
dm me on discord, I'll be that Vergil
Warlock + Bard will always be my favorite multiclass combination. They work together so well in so many situations and I only wish I could have more health.
Tough feat fixes it!
I'm surprised it turned out to be a bard build. I made my own Vergil a while back and rolled out Echo Knight 5 for doppelganger, Kensei Monk 3 for Yamato/Beowulf, and Holy Soul-y 12 for Tasha's Otherworldly Guise as SDT, as well as lotsa other cool Vergil stuff. I guess the biggest difference is that I considered V to be an entirely seperate character for building.
As a separate character, yes, but no. Lore-wise, it's still Vergil, so I'm sure he's always able to summon physical manifestations of trauma. V's just more dependent on them given how little demonic power he actually has. Of course, the main bulk of Vergil's power comes from Yamato and Sparda's lineage, so without either, he's limited to, like, three spells on a good day. And poetry.
I AM THE MOTIVATED MAN THAT IS APPROACHING
I love how half the comments on Dante's video are people pointing out that he's not actually edgy, but Tulok just tripled down for this video. I'm looking forward to Nero, Lady, Trish, V, and Lucia.
He already did Nero a while back
The fact that you remember Lucia makes you a real one.
Finally, we can play the cool, handsome, older foil, who happens to be the protagonist's twin brother.
A No More Heroes reference, nice.
This makes me want a Henry Cooldown build. After a Travis Touchdown build. Now I just No More Heroes builds in general.
damn it, now we NEED a build guide for the one and only "Mister Sir Henry Motherfucker"! NMH has so many cool characters to make builds for - I'd personally like to see guides for Bad Girl, Destroyman, and Jeane.
Honestly, if Tulok wanted people to not get pissy over the bard levels, he should've justified it by pointing out that Inspiration leads to MOTIVATION.
Something I was worried about before the build came out was "how do you make Vergil without completely outpacing Dante who (narratively at least) is supposed to be his equal and antithesis in combat."
This is perfect. Almost level per level, the two could go at each other and at least look evenly matched. As a bonus, the Nero build can also show up at any time to proverbially spank the victor for being bad at family dialogue.
Nero has the power of beating exhausted fighters!
My favorite thing about using a sword or any weapon as the Spellcasting Focus is that you can easily reflavor certain spells to be sword beams.
it's weird how we're building for both V and vergil, even though the whole poetry sop with familiars is mostly V's thing
Well, V is literally just Vergil. Vergil's just too cool and motivated to let anybody know how much he loves reading (and loves his poetry. That is his book afterall lmao). In the mangas, we even see a young Vergil and Dante fighting because Dante took Vergil's book so he couldnt read, and Vergil got so pissed they both grabbed their swords and fought.
"D: Well, that wasn't too nice! *Kicks Vergil in the face and climbs back to his feet.*
V: Ugh, you little-
D: Come on, grab your sword!
V: Fine, I'll just have to read *after* I make you cry. *Flourishes a little katana.*
D: Well come on then...though I don't think you'll be reading anytime soon..."
I did a Vergil build before, but I went kensai monk lvl 3 the rest blade singer wizard. The AC with bladesong active and shield spam with the AC buff of 2 from Kensai was dumb especially with haste active. You could also combo cantrips like blade ward and sword burst, blade ward being super powerful with the burn spell slots to nullify damage. Then you had things like steel wind strike, thunderwave and such. He was a power house and the dm could only do good damage on him with save for half spells targeting things like CON. This build is a unique take though.
Damn, this WHOLE video, I was waiting for a Storm Sorcerer level! Their little flying thing is absolutely underpowered, and it really isn't in-character at all, but hey. If you walk towards an enemy and cast Cause Fear, then you *are* the storm that is approaching. Provoking.
Jokes aside, this really is the best build for Vergil. I ugly laughed when you picked Pact of the Chain, because really, I guess you're right, Pact of the Blade isn't all that necessary? He *has* the Yamato, he doesn't have to summon it or anything. Good call.
Absolutely gonna try this out in a home game, I've always wanted to do a Swords Bard.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
I've been wanting this for so long. Can't wait to see how your build differs from mine.
Been waiting for this
Don’t know if this has been pointed out but it’s pretty cool: you get the extra 10’ of movement for taking an attack action during your turn w/ the Blade Flourish trait; you don’t have to even hit or spend your inspiration dice for the extra movement. Hitting allows you to use your Defensive, Slashing, and Mobile Flourish options. XGtE pg15. The extra speed on any attack action is pretty cool.
Inspiration? More like MOTIVATION
Motivation Dice are the way of the future. All else is foolishness.
I'd argue you should just go with Imp as your familiar because it could turn into a raven and having a bird that is just actually a demon is sort of right up Vergil's alley.
Time to get M O T I V A T E D.
I imagine the bard part comes in role-playing wise because Vergil effectively treats swordsmanship as an artform.
Flame Blade is the sword you use your spellcasting mod for, but shadow blade is just so much edgier....
personally I take 3 levels of Wizard on my Battle Smith just so I can use Int to swing my Shadow blade. Honestly considering taking 3 levels of rogue just so I can have a psychic blade in my offhand for a shadow dagger to go with my shadow blade.
I have been waiting this 😎😎😎😎😎
Perfect timing. I was looking for a Vergil build
I can't believe the day is finally here!
I've been waiting for this for a while
so I looked this up after playing a bit of BG 3 and thanks to some mods Im happy to find out this build its totally possible! Im really excited to run a game with this now!
FINALLLY MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE! I NEVER THOUGHT I'D LIVE TO SEE THE DAY!
This made me motivated.
Yes! I've been waiting for a Virgil for a while!
didn't expected bard
but the abilities the class give really suit him if you take sword college.
really creative, as always!
Always expect Bard.
@@ArcCaravan guess it's never too late to learn that lesson lol
Finally, been wanting a Vergil build since he made Dante
My only criticism of this build is that it feels like you tried to do V AND Vergil in one build, when you could have absolutely powerbuilt Vergil on his own I think.
I think it works considering Vergil has an attack that calls out V and the familiars.
I truly wasn’t expecting how you built him I really thought you were gonna make him a blade song echo knight fighter
i am new to dnd and this channel and i know its much to ask but i would really love to see a few league of legends heroes in dnd made by you. i love ur style and videos. keep up the good work
Was expecting Bladesinger but this is really cool too.
Now I'm getting motivated
Finally, the most motivated dnd build of all time
Gotta say I was thinking the bladesinger wizard route for vergil since I always saw him as the smarter of the two brothers but I like this build too
he's very intelligent, just very unwise
Finally. The storm is approaching.
Love this! Would love to see a Skeletor or Hordak build (since you have He-Man and She-Ra).
I love the Vergil build, but the real flex was Tulok's Bard 1 explanation about why you should just make your own YT channel! Haha, well done Tulok
Great build
But Tolok I DO want his warlock patron to be William Blake, have you read his poetry? the guy can definitely grant you warlock powers.
I was actually hoping pact of the tome, makes much more sense to me than familiar. Those things sound more like V, which yeah is kind of Vergil, but also no, so well it can't all be perfect, still everything really good video, I always watch them for inspiration, they are as I think you've made them, a guide line, not set on stone, just an idea of how to make them rather than well you know, fact. Keep up the good work.
Now I'm motivated
4:50
PFFFffftttt
hell yeah
get 'em Tulok, get 'em
The storm finally finished its approach
A great build. Time to go full power.
I've played a Swords Bard/Hexblade scourge aasimar before this video came out, and can confirm it is AWESOME!!! XD
Without seeing anything I'm going to predict it's Echo Knight fighter for the doppelganger and Bladesinger Wizard for the crazy Yamato stuff
Vergil needs those Bard levels to handle the POWER of Bury the Light.
I actually wanted to make lately a Drow Ranger based off of Vergil and Dante, so that video is extremely convenient for me
My personal build is 12 LVs hexblade PotB Warlock and 8 LVs battle master. Battle Master because of the maneuvers parry, riposte, and precision attack. Also, you can choose unarmed for some Beowolf action or superior technique for an extra maneuver (my personal pick would be tactical assessment, but you do you.) For stats, I put the 13 in INT and the 12 in STR because fallen aasimar will bump that 12 into a 13 so the multi-class into fighter is possible. And with the expanded spell list for hexblade, it's possible to have a DM that allows you to switch out a 5th Lv spell for Steel Wind Strike to simulate Judgement Cut End. Then finally, Lv 12 warlocks do get 6th Lv spells, and Tasha's Otherworldly Guise becomes available as an SDT.
YEEESSS! MOTIVATED!
Firstly, the main feature of Wrathful Smite is the Fear. Besides that I love all of this.
Well well well... Now I know what to play with my next character.
Hexblade swords bard? Fitting.
Ox Approved!
This week was full of some of my favorite White Haired Anime Boys, so thank you for that. 💙 This is a fantastic build.
I was gonna guess bladesinger and warsmith for the various summons, but this is also good
We are the storm that is approaching
Crows are bad at attacks but imps that shapechange into crows are fairly good
Just a reminder, you will need War Caster if you want to dual wield Yamato and Force Edge. Even if a weapon is your arcane focus, you still need a hand free for somatic components.
Wait, no. An arcane focus lets you substitute….wait, you’re right! Fuck, I’ve been a fool!
@@MasterLycan844 I didn't realize it myself until a few months ago when I made a Hexblade for the first time, lol. It's a weird rule.
Plus since this build's Con is mediocre, War Caster will help with all the concentration anyway.
Man, I saw Vergil and I thought Static Shock
Luckily he did make a static shock build in the past.
@@Thatdolphinguy see, I thought so, but couldn't remember.
I feel like including a crow familiar, demon summoning and focusing on the poetry leans more into V than Vergil, but they are probably the most 2 sides of the same coin situation possible. Can always excuse it too that Vergil is using Yamato to bring out V like for that special he has where he stabs himself again. Nonetheless though I always love how you think outside of the box for these builds! Its not how most would do them and that's exactly why I watch.
It will be cool the class of Destiny
Bard really is the swiss army knife for character creation
The Vergil build I made a while back was a Fallen Aasimar Bladesinging Wizard. His bladesong is Bury the Light. :)
I am now motivated.
I hereby formally accuse Tulok the Barbrarian of conspiracy to make V without dumping Con instead of making a proper Vergil video
A little surprised to not see Plane Shift given yamato's dimension-cutting nonsense, but damn, sword boy go brrr
Bards are a class based off of creative expression they fit fine.
This man managed to get V's summons and Judgment cut end? now I'm m-
Fine Tulok. I'll do it. You give me no other choice, but to make my own bard free character building channel. First build? Honestly I don't know, I can't think of any characters without bard levels.
NOW YOU'RE MOTIVATED
Waiting for the Virgil Elden Ring build next.
I think it goes without saying that if you build Vergil to have everything, you kinda have to sacrifice some abilities that are legally required to replicate. If Tulok was JUST making Vergil, then there'd be less to worry about. There would be Echo Knight levels for Dopplelganger, the Unarmed Fighting Style for Beowulf (maybe Spirit Shroud too), even Tenser's Transformation or Tasha's Otherworldly Guise for Sin Devil Trigger (removing the need for Hexblade). All in all, not surprised by how this build turned out. I dig it.
You know what other badass brothers need some builds? Edgar and Sabin Figaro from Final Fantasy 6! We need chainsaws and train suplexing and we need them now!
POWRR AND MOTIVATION!
Day 2 of asking for a toji fushiguro build for dnd, pd: love how the vida are organized and explained
After you built Killua, and now Vergil, I'm starting to get a healthy fear of speed demon white-haired characters with blue clothes.
Now I’m a little motivated
The change I would make is pact of the blade instead of chain and with magical secrets take conjure animals.
I have an interesting request for a video. What do you think about Multiple Man?
I need more… POWER!
This comes nearly a week after The Loading Crew released their Alignment video on Virgil
Coincidence?
I THINK NOT!!!
Made a Vergil just after your original Dante video - a Bladesinger 17/Echo Knight 3 since I was definitely going for more of the doppelganger usage. Just reflavour a rapier to be a katana and and your spellbook can be your poetry book (or if you homebrew DnD the way I mod DMCV it can be a copy of My Little Pony.) If you go Aasimar you still get your DT but the wizard can get you spells like Blade of Disaster at max level to simulate Judgement Cut End.
Build's good though and I saw some more in the comments, issue is warlocks require a patron which a bunch of DMC baddies could obviosuly be but Vergil is more likely to kill them and take their power than serve them - it happened once but at that point he was very much not himself.
3:22 why is this the most amazing reason anyone has taken Hex ever?
See Tulok started true strike with what it actually did so I thought for a second that I didn’t actually need to be educated but here we are…
LETS GOOOOOO
Vergil actually does make a force field in 3.
