Honestly considering Advent Children in the whole reunions thing I can see the zombie thing being useful. Just say that the people infected have geostigma and if they die they become a remnant of sephiroth and can in theory be used to resurrect him if your character dies

8:00 I wanna point out that its been ruled you can cast spells with a two handed weapon since you only attack with two hands, but hold it in general with 1 hand, apparently. Its weird. You still want Warcaster because its really freakin loaded.
2 handed weapons dont prevent spellcasting. You're able to "hold," it in one hand while performing the somatic components, then putting the second hand back on. Dual Wielding, Sword and Boarding, or wielding a weapon while holding onto something (typically a rope/ladder/rail or other such thing keeping you in place) are typically what prevent somatic components. Still. The rest of Warcaster is really nice for this build, that it's still worth the investment.

" Essentially means you need a hand to hold it, and a free hand to attack with it. So holding something, or otherwise continually using your hand to do something will prevent you from attacking. But the gestures used for somatic components only last the casting time, during which you arent attacking anyway.

For the record, if you’re using a Greatsword, you don’t need war caster to use spells. You can carry the weapon with one hand, just not attack with it, so you’re free to let go with one hand, cast your spell, and then pick it back up properly.

One thing I wanted to point out (since I'm playing a bladesong wizard right now) is that they actually gain proficiency with light armor at level 2 so you actually won't need Mage Armor past first level :)

I'm personally a fan of Steel Wind Strike. I dunno how it compares to other 5th level spells, but it's easily one of the most anime spells in the game, and if you're hasted you get your 2 base attacks, and 5 hits from Steel wind. it's a stretch, but it's very nearly an octoslash. nearly.
The fake out at the end of Cloud's build was beautiful!! Love your work; keep at it!! EDIT: I wound up using Rune Knight since putting Runes on equip felt like materia; I teetered between sorcerer and paladin for second class but ultimately took both for: Attack + Action Surge + Haste + Quickened Boom = Pseudo Omnislash
I don't mind Divine Soul Sorcerer, it just feels like a LOT of builds on this channel either center around Fighter/Sorcerer/Paladin combos or are near-pure class builds. I don't think that's particularly a knock against you, but more the content you're covering: People tend to request and vote for protagonists of fantasy series, which tend to BE Swordbois that often combine it with magic.

Just watched this, awesome character builds, definitely will reference this for my FF inspired campaign. Also, love your humor with the calm voice, just has its own great charm to it.
I'm no Final Fantasy buff, but I heard somewhere that Sephiroth has powerful illusion magic. Since wizards learn two new spells every level and can add more to their spellbook with scrolls and such, I reckon it wouldn't be too hard to get spells like Hallucinatory Terrain and Mirage Arcane (sure they have long casting times, but whatevs). Also great job on the extra long video.
Man, I love these videos but I have a small request. Can you add like a small thing at the end that shows off the ability scores + learned feats and whatnot? It may seem like a lot, I dunno, but I kinda find it difficult to keep track of changes with ability scores upgrades and all that. Thanks

I love playing necromancers because once you get to higher level spell slots death becomes irrelevant to you because you have all the tools you'd ever need to bring everyone but yourself back to life and dying isn't even an issue once you get the spells that can bring you back to life
You can totally get Octoslash and Meteor Swarm. Level 18 Wizard with Steel Wind Strike, 5th level Spell from XGE, and 2 Levels into Fighter for action Surge. 1 action to Steel Wind Strike 5 enemies for 6D10 Force Damage and action surge for one more action to make 3 attacks against which ever target you choose to teleport to at the end of the spell. 8 attacks in a turn. You just lose one ASI
Just want to say that much as Tulok and everyone gets bored with Variant Human, Cloud and Sephiroth are humans injected with alien blood so they are LITERALLY Variant Humans. Which is why, of course, he went with Elves.

Unrelated, but I just got a flash of brilliance for a build: Fulgore from Killer Instinct in DnD: You make him a Warforged (duh) and multiclass Soul Knife Monk (For the plasma blades), and Hexblade Warlock (For invisibility and Eldricth Blast wich becomes your HYPEr beam). I think that would cover everything.

I would have went 18BladeSinger/2Paladin so he could have worked a better 2 hand sword attack + smite.

I love playing necromancers because once you get to higher level spell slots death becomes irrelevant to you because you have all the tools you'd ever need to bring everyone but yourself back to life and dying isn't even an issue once you get the spells that can bring you back to life
Missed opportunity at 8:55 since "know your enemy" is the closest you can get to a healthbar for your bossfights.

You can totally get Octoslash and Meteor Swarm. Level 18 Wizard with Steel Wind Strike, 5th level Spell from XGE, and 2 Levels into Fighter for action Surge. 1 action to Steel Wind Strike 5 enemies for 6D10 Force Damage and action surge for one more action to make 3 attacks against which ever target you choose to teleport to at the end of the spell. 8 attacks in a turn. You just lose one ASI
Battlemaster Fighter is still one of my favorite classes of D&D 5e.
I combined it with Kensei Monk and it became kind of incredible.
It's very fun, it gives you a little more oomph

For the octoslash, you could have taken animate objects and made a bunch of swords that attack someone.
This episode has to be my favorite so far because of the writing.
Just want to say that much as Tulok and everyone gets bored with Variant Human, Cloud and Sephiroth are humans injected with alien blood so they are LITERALLY Variant Humans.
Which is why, of course, he went with Elves.

Unrelated, but I just got a flash of brilliance for a build: Fulgore from Killer Instinct in DnD: You make him a Warforged (duh) and multiclass Soul Knife Monk (For the plasma blades), and Hexblade Warlock (For invisibility and Eldricth Blast wich becomes your HYPEr beam).
I think that would cover everything.

This is absolutely amazing, hands down the best one yet. Super glad to see some iconic JRPG characters getting covered. If I could make a request it'd be Ryuu from the Breath Of Fire series, with BoF 3 or 4 being the most complex and BoF: Dragon Quarter possibly being the most interesting
