- 13News Now meteorologist Crystal Harper removed her wig on live TV after announcing her cancer diagnosis one year ago today. She is officially and completely cancer free.
She is not crying because she is ashamed of her hair....it is tears of joy....like throwing your crutches away because you know you are finally healed and can walk again. I cannot imagine what she has been thru.....
You do cry when you lose your hair. Can be the worst.
My son had Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and was in stage 3 when it was diagnosed. The road they travel for the treatment is very hard. He has been cancer free for 13 years now. God Bless these patients and the doctors with the wisdom and tools to treat these horrible diseases. I hope she does well. Courageous young lady.

It seems that most women's hair looks wonderful after growing back. I've seen some of the ladies have waves or curly hair after it being straight their whole lives!

But she looks even more GORGEOUS with out the wig!!!

I am so sorry for your struggle of dealing with cancer. People need to know that it hits people even as vibrant and young as you are! With cancer it doesn’t care what ethnicity, status or age...it just is.
My husband August 27 2020 from a long career saving lives as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. On October 27,
60 days into retirement, he was diagnosed with cancer. He should have a good outcome but we just never know.

Honestly, that wig was horrible. She definitely did not need it. Not all women look good with short hair but she rocked it. Be proud, stay strong!

She is such a brave woman. And her doing this on television is just wow. I can even articulate it. She’s really an inspiration. And she said she’d beat it by that time the following year. So the fact that she was able to say she was doing well exactly at that year mark is just amazing. I’m sure that has given hope to someone else that is in their cancer journey. Good for her!!!

My grandma was diagnosed and lost all her hair. It was such a hard thing for her because when her mom passed she said I love your hair Theresa please don’t ever cut it.. so my grandma always had really long hair( down to her butt) she would trim it but when she lost it, it was hard for her, I could tell, but she never put a wig on.. she’s been cancer free for a few months now and she’s my inspiration and hero. ❤️
