Separated At Birth 33 Years Ago, Identical Twins Meet For The First Time | Megyn Kelly TODAY
I think it is so wrong to separate twins or triplets. They should be adopted together.
Gail Fitches How many have YOU adopted???
Or any siblings for that matter. So sad. I saw the documentary, "Three Identical Strangers" where triplets had been separated and had no idea until they were 19. The adoption agency did it on purpose as part of a social experiment they agreed to conducted by a psychologist and were compensated for it - pure evil. The adoptive parents said they would have adopted all of them together if they had known.
Ideally, but that's not always the expedient way.
Gail Fitches
I agree with you !!
@@ThisSongILove
She's just making a comment why be mean
Imagine knowing you’re entire life you had a twin but just didn’t know where she was and if she was okay, heartbreaking
they are so lucky that they were both adopted by the parents who have the same nationality and to the same country, so they speak the same language and have the same culture so that they can still communicate with each other with no problems
Of thousands of orphans, 99% remain in the country and this twin both adopted by Americans living in America. Isn’t it fishy? They could be subjects/ victims of twins studies that used to be very common back then. They’d study them through the parents, through the schools and psychologists all working together secretly. 🕵🏻♀️
@@lalthafamkimi8277 Yeah, I watched that documentary Identical strangers. What they did was disgusting.
@@jimmicake What documentary?
@@Smorgasbord. Three Identical Strangers. It was a social experiment done purposely. One of the triplets Eddie took his of own life. It was sad.

I have a twin sister and we're always together. I just can't imagine how my life would be like if we were separated. My twin was a bit sick when we were about 7-8 so we had to live separately in different countries for a few months while she was being cured. I was with our dad and she was with our mum. Those months were the hardest and every time I saw a plane flying over I thought she was in there. It was equally as hard for her as well. Every time she passed a toy store over there, she'd buy me something. She wouldn't even buy a toy for herself. We're now 27 and we get along so well. She has a 6 year old daughter whom I love so much and I always make sure I'm in her life as much as possible. We really live the best life! Being twins is a blessing from God
❤️
My friend was like that, they were together when they were babies but his younger twin always get sick so an Aunt who lived in the City asked if she could raised the younger twin. But the parents see to it that they see each other every month...
Very happy for you ❤️
much 💕
My older sisters are twin. And from where we live we have a beliefs that in order none of the twins get sick, they must be separated on the day of their baptism. The other one goes into other path on the way to church and the other goes the other way. That thing is very common beliefs and sure is none is sickly
They were holding their hands in their laps the exact same way during their interview
And the way they sit and nod thrir heads - same
Susan Evers I noticed that also as well
Oh wow yeah!
Very true. You are very observant, hadn't noticed but I looked after I read your comment
Susan Evers and Sharon McKendrick are the twins from The Parent Trap. 🙂 Just noticed your name and remembered the movie.
I'm a twin. I cannot imagine missing those lost decades. Glad they have the future to grow old together :-)
Sameee! I can't imagine my life without my twin brother
Imagine if this happened and one of them had plastic surgery and changed their face.
I'm an identical twin and just the thought of being without my sister breaks my heart. I'm so glad they found each other.
“They had you chained up?” She asked as if she was asking what she had for breakfast. That’s such a heavy and emotional question to just throw at someone with ZERO emotion. So irritating.
Exactly! She has a sensitivity chip missing.
Agreed.
I thought so too. And it seems like it was the equivalent of an American playpen used just to keep her safe when the parents were busy.
That's enough emotion from Megan Kelly
Ms. Kelly has paid a heavy price to get where she is, and it shows.
I just found my biological sisters!!!! October 25,2020. I’ve been searching for 40 years !!!! Maybe I have a twin also ❤️😊they are so beautiful!!!
Aww how did it go?
🙏🙏🏼
Proud of y'all
The power of makeup. they look like 2 different people
hmm..maybe because they are two different people?
MsMusicmaniac2 duhh they ain't the same ppl stupid
Dex3 he's dumb
Octavya Santifer stupid is an understatement
definatly, make up can completely change people.
I know they both had good adoptive families and grew up happy, but I can't get over the horror that adoption agencies split up identical twins for adoption ! Siblings should never be split up, and that's twice as bad when it's twins who are split up. I'm sure there was a family out there all those years ago who would have been happy to take both of them.
Adoption agencies didn't split them up. They were adopted through individuals.
iekeie
One was left in a basket somewhere the other was left with a street vendor. .
I wonder if the street vendors were the bio family and couldn't afford to keep two ..which may be why one was left in the basket .
@@laurieudall4159 Adoption agencies split twins up as well. This is the fourth set of female Chinese twins that I have come across that have split them up. There are thousands like these two out there. It's all about money for the adoption agencies.
@@singtweetypie They're from Korea, not China. These agencies barely make anything. The process might be expensive but there are thousands of workers that need to get paid every month, they do not work for free. It costs millions to take care and raise all these babies. It's harder to get twins adopted so they do it to give them the best possible chance of having a family. Try to see the other picture.
look how they both have thier hands folded the same while sitting
Krista Lofland not really
I understand the parallel universe feeling. I'm not a twin, but adopted. When you see a birth sibling you can't help thinking of what you would've been like growing up with them in their world yet you grew up in your own. It feels surreal imagining it.
Reading and watching all these stories makes me happy for my own childhood. Just found my father had two more sons born while he was married to my mother. Shame on him for doing that. These boys grew up without a father. One was adopted by his grandparents and the other moved across the country at a young age. I’m 62. They are both in their late 50’s. Dad is gone. They are asking about their birth father. Life could be worse for them. They might have been out in an orphanage here. Many did not survive. Even in the 1960’s.
What is with the weird subtitles that dont match what they're saying
@@teacher_ps Nahhhh. On YT, sometimes they put up TOTALLY different words than wht they're saying.
True
Lol around the 2:30 mark it seemed like they’re advertising a skin care product
I know that commercial haha
This host is the ultimate mean girl
Ellen would have sent them on a holiday!
ellen is not nice in person i hear.
km5658 she's an introvert so maybe people misunderstand that as not beng "nice"
jelless ~♥~
jelless
Her show has been on longer which means more sponsors who pay for these vacations. Ellen doesn't pay for any of the kind things she does on her show. Not a single day penny.
Ellens better!
That was so amazing, you can really feel that they instantly connect with each other. I am so happy that they found each other.
Some of the similarities are indeed surreal and these kinds of things bring us joy as well.Twins seem to enjoy life more and
as I said a year ago I can't help but believe people envy their
compatibility.
They sound the same
This so deeply moved me. I lost a baby brother before I got to know him, and this just touched me. I started balling out crying out of no where. I hope he’s watching over me.
Omg I’m so sorry! 😭😭 he will be watching from heaven😭🥺❤️
ppl saying they don't look alike..don't underestimate the power of makeup lol. though the one from arizona is more tan, makes sense
Yes and one is slightly heavier than the other, buy they look alike.
@@micaonyx5301 exactly lmao
The eyes are the same. Amanda does not have makeup in the pre-interview and her eyes look like Katey's. Contouring makes a difference.
Korean make up vs. American make up XD
lol
that actually makes sense. It's the styling of makeup.
What? They both grew up in America, so both have America make up.
I was thinking the exact same thing wow
Thx for the likes. But I didn't write that comment... creepy...
My biological sibling and I found each other through 23andMe, as well, though we are not twins and we were adopted from China.
My biological sibling is about 3½ years older than me. He took the DNA test before me, so when I looked at my results, he was at the very top of my DNA relatives list, since the list was filtered by percentage of shared DNA.
We met in person just recently, and though we are not twins, we look incredibly alike, we act alike, and we share a lot of things in common (e.g., interests, hobbies). It was the most incredible experience ever.
Woaahh
Congratulations
I’m so glad you met!!
All youtube shows me now are twin sister's reunions.
😂😂
How about twin brothers. 😊
🙀
I love when twins find each other and their idiosyncrasies are identical! Beautiful!
I read about brothers who had been separated at birth, then after finding each other, found that they had both become plumbers, drove the same model pickup truck, and had married women who looked alike and had the same name.
No one should ever be separated from family, children should be kept together .
This is such a sweet story. Reunited for the first time since birth!
So happy they found each other. What a beautiful story ❤
To be honest they look more fraternal than identical
Green PowerRanger dif makeup
Higher shoes
They don't look identical ...no way ...they are twins but not identical
MAKEUP AND DIFFERENT SKIN COLOR
One is shorter than the other AND she has heals on. The other is wearing flat soles
I'm one of a twin. Twins should never ever be separated!
When the host asked them if they have any similar mannerisms I immediately noticed they were sitting and positioning their hands the exact same way and had been the whole time 😂🥲
Being a twin ❤ I get so emotional watching these types of videos
Its so sad that they separate twins
Useful for twin studies to learn more about nature vs nurture influence on human development.
It's sad that they separate children period.
No, it is not useful. It is damaging. They are not things, they are human beings. And enough information can be learned without separating them.
is not good
I would say it is all about survuival, this took place in Korea not US. Alot more people to feed in Korea. Alot easier to adopt out one than 2. Govt may say no to two. Interesting.
Social media at its best......I love how they giggle at the same time......and I just love to hear “happy stories” with “happy endings”. I cry at weddings/funerals and sad/happy stories, even Disney movies at 63 years old.......Thank you girls for sharing your story 💞💞
Wow just read other comments...so sad that people feel the need to comment such negativity.. My mom always told me that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it. I wish others would think the same as really their negative thoughts on anything really doesn’t do anything but fuel an argument. I wish everyone to find peace and happiness in their own lives:). If anyone wants to comment on this, bring it on as I’ve got no response. That is your opinion, and that opinion only matters to you:)

What a negative comment.

Pretty sure it already was. They just wanted to increase the suspense for the ratings.
I am 99% sure they met each other face-to-face just before this moment. There should have been more shock and emotion.
The show paid for everything...plane tickets, hotel stays, so it's not too bad
This is so sad. I mean, to be separated at birth from your siblings in one thing, but dang, from your identical twin? That’s just horrible
WOW I have never been sooo happy for a complete stranger. I'm glad you were able to find each other. There is always a special bond with siblings and more so with twins. I really hope you continue to be in each others lives and make your bond stronger. ❤️
“How are you going to handle the different birthdays?”
Celebrate On Both. More gifts
Since the first time I watched Sam and Anais in Twinsters it’s so beautiful and strange to hear about so many Korean adopted baby twins separated going to different families, almost as if it was normal. So many twins have found each other but who knows how many more are still out there. And of course just like Sam and Anais I am so happy for these ladies and wish them a lifetime of happiness and blessings!
It's crazy that they have a similar haircut and length, and similar body (weight-wise) they're both so pretty and have a gorgeous smile!
From the beginning I was about to cry here, but both of them are look like so happy, it same they know each other before, no emotional , no tear
So nice that they found each other while they're still young.
Omgosh, I feel so emotional!! Such a blessing they were ever reunited!!
what a great interview!!! I love stories like this
They have a lot of similar features even if they lived separate lives and have different styles of makeup and hair. The way they talk are very similar too. They are both so beautiful though!
I can relate!! I was embryo donated and as an adult I found my biological family and before I met them i facebooked them. My older sister looks identical to me! Looking at her photos was a mind trip because I swore they where my photos that I legit had at home. The joke in the family is that she and I are the real twins instead of our older brother and sister who are actully twins, because we have identical traits as well, down to being huge popculture nerds and being super messy. The world works in mysterious ways 🤣
This is such a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing this.
If I found out I had a twin I don’t think I’d want a news agency to document and broadcast the whole thing.
“What did it feel like when you had this very personal and familial experience with your supposed twin?”
Thank you for the big hearted parents!!
Today is national sibling day !!! No wonder this was recommended lol
Asians are so respectful of others. I'm glad they are part of humankind.
john wayne gacey am African and that’s true
I guess you've never been to China, then. (I lived there for years).
I beg to differ. They hate people that look like me and don't mind displaying it
?? Have you met every Asian on the planet or did you actually just do a judgement call on an entire HUGE group of people?
john wayne gacey Why does every race have to bring up Africans. You haven’t even met every African to make that generalized ignorant statement. Comments like these make Africans want to be rude to you. Ever thought about that?
What an amazing story!
Oh my gosh!!! This story is amazing. 🤩🤗
That is so amazing!!! I love that they're so happy about meeting each other and Megan looks genuinely happy and excited for them too. Sweet!!

I expected them to run up and meet each other, but they approached each other very awkwardly 😂
So happy for these two beautiful young ladies, my eyes are tearing up as I write. I wish them well.
I feel so happy for them, may they be healthy and happy together for a long long time to come. God bless them.
I feel so happy but at the same time I feel so sad about it. How can a parent do this to her own babies?? Not only give them away but split them apart 😢 I'm just so happy they finally found each other, I'm still crying about it 😂😇
Sadly in oriental culture, sons are valued higher than daughters. Twin daughters are probably considered a curse.
I’m a quadruplet and we only reunited with our 4 sister recently aged 25 it was so crazy
So sweet. God bless them
Megyn Kelly is so emotionally tone deaf
This is adorable. I love this story!
They seem like two smart young woman speak well..
A beautiful loving journey to share with the rest of the world. Thank you for lifting our spirits in this time of great turmoil for many of us.
Great ways to regain views!
love and lost segments always do well. Keep it up 👍🏽
I have the same OCD tendencies! So crazy. The volume on my television has to be an even number and paper towels from the restroom are in 3’s.
Do you have a Virgo sun, moon or rising?

Ok I get the volume thing, but why use three paper towels instead of one? That's killing the earth!
This is like Gracie and Audrey
I'm crying!!!
some people are very lucky to even have a twin.i feel happy for those who found there twin .i lost my twin and sometimes feel like a part of me is missing so congrats to those that have there twins from young or if u found out that u have a twin all my love to u

wow. what a story. i had tears in my eyes. really quite sad.... i hope they stay together for the rest of their lives
wow! they are so amazing. So lovely and I wish them all the happiness together.
Amazing story!
Can you imagine what goes through they're mind when they're told you have a brother or sister that you've never met before 😭😭😭
They don't look identical to me.
Identical twins have the same genome, which makes their DNA identical and features. However, the environment, what they eat, activities they do, etc. can shape and change the way they physically appear... therefore making them look slightly different physically. Fraternal twins, different eggs, different sperm, CAN sometimes look identical (for example the Olsen Twins (Mary-Kate and Ashley from "Full House)) are not "identical" twins, they are Dizygotic twins (aka faternal twins) but look identical.
Matthew Kim finally nice to have someone understand. Lol. Simple research.
Matthew Kim thank you
I was saying the exact same thing.
Yeah epigenetics.
Emotional 😭 Amen 🙏🏻
This made me cry
Beautiful young ladies.
My identical twin sister and I are 33 years old. I can't imagine not growing up together! A lot of people on this thread are commenting on how these two are identical but don't look very much alike. This is actually common with identical twins. My sister and I looked so identical when we were little but as we aged we now look like we could be fraternal or even just siblings a year or two apart. This is because of epigenetics. We share %100 of our genes but we are two separate people and over time we do begin to take on characteristics that are just our own. In our face, body and voice and personality.
I think it great that they got to meet each other! After all the years apart!
Being a twin I can only imagine not having all the memory’s me and my brother had.
I love these type of stories! Maybe I have a twin out there?🤔
@@tomaf LMAOOO WHAT!?!?!

Amazing! Thank you 23 and me!!!!
I have tried to give Megyn Kelly a fair shot on this show, but she is just bad at interviewing people. She is articulate and intelligent but she puts people off and doesn't recognize it or try to fix it. Its like watching a chorus on nails on a chalkboard! Her interview with the cast of will and grace was horrendous! Come renewal time, maybe rethink your choice.
Megan comes across as insincere and condescending.
I smiled like a fool when they first saw each other!!
God bless them 33 years later you found out they have a sibling and a twin sister omg!
Can someone please drop me a baby they don't want in a basket?
I am from Asia. Came here to USA in my teens. Have NO desire to ever go back. EVER.
Roopa Dudley ~ I wished that for years, since first heard it happens. I think many people think, "Give him/her to me then!"
To be honest, that's pretty awesome how we have people like u that would love to take care of a child. We have a lot of compassionate people in America. Thank u for being one of them👍
I never saw it that way - "being compassionate". I find children full of life and a promise of a wonderful tomorrow. I have raised two of my own (biological) but can love an adopted kid as if my own. Holding a child is the best feeling ever.
+specialty k LMAO! And, sorry to hear that
Love your show...I'm addicted now! Great job!

Wow. Wish them both the best
While I'm watching this video, the closed captioning is playing commercials!
Anyone else think they have a twin now?
I wonder sometimes because I was told I had a twin brother and he died but for years around the city I live in people have always said they always mistaking me for some girl that live in the same city I live in to where people have got mad when they said they would speak and I would look at them like they where crazy and they would be like why you didn't speak and I would be like what are you talking about I Never seen you today at all smh
Yh I asked my parents and they said no but you could never believe it
Lol guilty here
I found out at 50 i was adopted and had 10 half siblings. Anything is possible
Probably the best segment megyn has had lol
But seriously, great story!
Two of my brothers were adopted from South Korea in the 50's from Holt Adoption Center. One of my brothers made the journey back to where he was adopted from. It was emotional. ❤️
