I believe I've had SIBO for 3 years now and no doctor knows how to treat me. I'm going to be prescribed rifaximin now that I have finally found a GI Dr. that acknowledges the fact I may have SIBO. Is this the solution? Am I going to have a life again?

+Trool u I was diagnosed with recurring SIBO and am fighting a second bout of it. I've heard rixaimin is the best choice, but my doctor used Bactrim DS. She encouraged me to try a low FODMaP diet to see if the symptoms decrease before she gives me another round of antibiotics. And yes, when the antibiotics work you can actually have a life! Best of luck!

That's so nice to hear, I am halfway done with rifaximin now. I don't think it's helping. The only thing that takes the pain away is the vegan diet I've been on.. but it doesn't cure the problem...

+Trool u Don't give up on the rifaximin. I didn't notice that Bactrim was helping until I finished the treatment. :) Interesting about the vegan diet. Maybe check into the low FODMaP, SCD or GAPS diet. These were designed to help people with functional gastrointestinal disorders.

Carla U I thank you very much talking with me, and the encouragement. I will definitely check them out. I really hope this rifaximin works out.
