Maybe we should name the singers, as it was only half of the VOCES8 that participated, and it has been quite long since: Andrea Haines, 1st soprano Emily Dickens, 2nd soprano Sam Dressel, tenor (and lead) Dingle Yandell, bass
This may be the very best production life can provide ever. It's all about the music and message. The fine performers have set the music out front and taken a back seat. Bless you.
You sound like you've just paid a prostitute. But this comment was 9 years ago. There is a chance you may not be on RUclips anymore, for a variety of reasons. Maybe it's because you got into the whole prostitute thing? I don't know, and I am not judging you brother.
SAM DRESSEL Tenor Sam was a choral scholar with the choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and studied French and Spanish at the university. After graduating in 2011, he spent a year working in London as a freelance singer and linguistic coach before starting with VOCES8.
Let’s give credit where credit is due to Vince Clarke, who wrote this great song whilst he was a member of the band Depeche Mode and Alison Moyet who first sang it. Flying Pickets made it more famous though.
Very, very nicely sung. We have the same arrangement and are learning it now but we are going to end with the intro, like the Flying Pickets a capella version.
This has got to be absolute perfection in a 4 group arrangement. Rock on Voces 8. Looking forwar to the time when you put Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on you 3026 tour map. PLEASE.
3:07 This is infact me you're hearing! -have been working as a professional cougher with many famous groups, such as Voces8. We did this in just one take, the hard part is to get the cough going during the quiet passages, or just rests in general, where the coughs is most audible. Ofcourse a lot of experimentation were carried out in the concert hall, finding the specific area where the coughing would project best in the given acoustics. I always aim for those most tender parts of the song, the highlight moments, where the coughs are most unexpected, as heard on this recording, it's all about the emotion of the song.
The cougher's have always boiled my blood...but at the same time I understood it wasn't as deliberate and I try to be good with everyone.... but still no one like's a cougher!!!

What a beautiful performance... it would be a shame if someone of the audience had a bad throat day
大好きな唄です❤
Beautiful, I love the Flying Pickets and also Yazoo singing this, a very different style performed here but equally as captivating.
Outstanding - all four voices.
Really liked this! Even if it's 10 years old...
Flawless and moving😊
I got goosebumps when the girl on the left started singing on her own.
Beautiful...a real beauty with a great voice.

When you finde out, that the guy who looks like he is going to is repair the copy machine in the office, is a rockstar :D.

I particularly like the alto harmony line. I think it's the brunette lady. Wow!

no way, it's just a sound enegeeer matter, why is he using a global mic insteed of 4 SM58 ?
Probably nervous glitches. Sometimes some folks just do it, comes on spontaneously.

Best version ever!
Muy lindo!! Gracias 💜

Looking from a window above, it's like a story of love
Can you hear me?
Came back only yesterday, moving further away
Want you near me (want you near me)
All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you
Sometimes when I think of your name (your name)
And it's only a game (oh)
And I need you (and I need you yeah)
Listening to the words that you say (say)
It's getting harder each day (oh)
When I see you (when I see you)
All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you
All I needed was the love you gave (oh, the love you gave me)
All I needed for another day (one more day)
And all I ever knew (all I knew)
Only you (only you)
This is gonna take a long time
And I wonder what's mine
Can't take no more
Wonder if you'll understand the touch of your hand behind a closed door
All I needed was the love you gave (love you gave me)
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you
Written and lyrics by Vincent Clarke aka The Genius
