This is the Rhein Energie Stadium, home of the Cologne soccer club 1. FC Köln. The red scarf “Ich bin FC” is one of their fan scarves. In normal games the stadium holds 50,000 spectators, for concerts it can hold 41,000, like here.
This song is THE definition of the german word 'Heimat', which means so much more than just home, cause it's a feeling. Even I feel it, just because they mentioned the Spree and I live in the surrounding area of Berlin. The same feeling every Kölner feels when it comes to the Kölner Dom or the FC, I feel when I come home and see the Fernsehturm in Berlin 😎
It was such an amazing concert to be at, it will be forever hard to top. Tommi was their last song of the evening as everyone knew it would be.... When they did the sound check earlier in the day, Henning was already pelting it out full strength (I live nearby) and you could hear the emotionality in his voice, it made me so excited for the concert, while hanging up the washing 😄
Hello Walter, in the chorus Henning switches from High German to the regional dialect "Kölsch" (the beer from there is also called that), and Köln becomes Kölle. The 1. FC Köln (FC=Fußball Club) is not doing so well in the table, but the championship this year goes to the northern neighboring city of Leverkusen. I'm not from Cologne, but from the Rhineland and when I hear the Cologne dialect, my heart warms. A warm greeting from far across the ocean to You.

As TilhemWell said, the stadium they are playing in is Rhein-Energie-Stadion, the big soccer stadium of Cologne and home of 1. FC Köln, It's not the best of all German soccer clubs - in fact, right now it seems that FC Köln will be relegated from the first league back to the second division again. But Cologners love their FC nevertheless - because it's emotional more rewarding to root for the underdog, than the big shining winner.
In 2023 there were seven music concerts in the stadium - among others by P!ink and AMK. At the AMK concert there were 41.000 people. In the 4th part of their tour doc you can see how the soccer stadium was turned into a concert venue:

And here you can see another video of the whole stadium singing “Tommi” - but this time not music lovers but soccer fans! It was when the FC bade farewell to two of its popular players, Jonas Hector and Timo Werner. Within a few years “Tommi” has become one of he many great Cologne hymns, and when the players and soccer fans wanted to celebrate that emotional moment, they chose “Tommi”:

Cologners LOVE to be homesick about Cologne - even if they live in the city for their whole lives! And there are many, many sentimental songs about Cologne and homesickness for Cologne.
Let's be honest: Cologne is not the most beautiful or clean of all German cities (some say it's the ugliest). Don't get me wrong: Cologne isn't dysfunctional (as some say Berlin is) or bad to live in. It has the Cathedral and other beautiful landmarks; it has many beautiful parks and green spaces; it has its “Veedel”, the quarters and neighborhoods which are little “villages” within the city ocean, where people know each other and with which people can identify. (Cologne is also quite “provincial”; that's why people who want to see the world or want to get big tend to move from Cologne to Berlin or Hamburg.)
But nevertheless, Cologne is a decidedly imperfect city. And guess what: humans are imperfect too! And that's why Cologners love their city, although, or rather because it's ugly and dirty in many places, because it's a place for human beings to live in.
beautifully explained, I would also add, having lived in a few places around the World, that Cologne people have a higher tendency to live and let live with humor and down to earth sentiment, which I always loved (from Cologne 😄 here)

Welcome to our FC-Family. :-) Cologne is the best City in Germany...we have so much culture, we say Welcome to everyone...it doesn´t matter which Sex you have, what your religion is about or what your favourites are in life. I am a huge Fan of my 1. FC Köln since 1991 and Is still love the city, the Club and everything around it till my last day. And I live and love Rock and Metal...but everything thats connected with Cologne...it gives me Goosebumps. And AMK is so talented...and unique. Thank you for your review, I love your reactions.

This performance made me emotional.. especially because of their pinned comment; check it out if you haven't. They just told everyone that they will take a break for the whole 2024, which was soooo disappointing to me - I was waiting & waiting for them to release the next tour/concerts, and knowing I have to wait for another year for this kind of experience just broke my heart a little. But, at the same time, they hinted about new music, so I'm expecting a new album either at the end of 2024 or early 2025.. and hopefully they will do a big tour then, and I'll finally be able to see them live. Can't wait!!!

The singer, Herbert Grönemeyer is a famous German artist since decades. He wrote this song to honour his late wife, who died of cancer. It is the most beautiful love song, I can imagin, while the sadest at the same time. Looking forward to your thoughts about it...... Greetings from Germany!

You have to react to “Vermissen” by Henning and Juju. A few years ago it was one of the biggest chart songs in Germany, and it's also Henning's best-known song in Germany.
Honestly, it's a bop! I still listen to it today.
Truly an amazing Hit. Did you know that Henning got some backlash Prior to making the Song as Juju didn't have the best Reputation, but he believed in her and honestly, the World is truly richer with this Song in it :)
