Love AMK.❤❤. Even my 2 yr old twin grandson's dance their butts off when I play their music. Their music has such a funky vibe. No rusty trumpet's🎺 though, just shiney brass ones.😊

I really love Sophies (bass player) solo, rockin the bass she inherited from her grandma who played it back in the 70s...

This band is something else. They're so unique! I want so badly to see them live, but they are taking a break for the whole 2024 and haven't announced but ONE concert for summer 2025.
And yes, German people are good looking - just came back from Berlin yesterday and can confirm that :)

I actually have been to that concert. It was in their hometown Cologne, Germany. I am from Cologne aswell and hearing them in the Rhine-Energy-Stadium (Colognes Football Stadium) is very very special. They have a song called Tommi, it's about being homesick especially about the city of Cologne. So you can imagine how wild the stadium went, when they played that one. (The local Football Team of Cologne actually has a routine whenever they win a game, they just holler that song in their dressing room all together) Also you just know how deep AnnenMayKantereit are connected to the city and the people there, because Henning May (the singer) performed a special song called "Schmetterling" (Butterfly) that was only ment for this exact day in that exact stadium. It didn't get recorded, it didn't get played again. It was something special, it was something I'll never forget.
I love this band and everything they do. They basically went to my school, grew up where I grew up and it makes me so happy to see them as succesfull as they are!🎉

Great reaction I really like this song. Henning May's voice is the best I heard in abt 30 yrs. I've been fortunate even to have seen the Beatles in 1965 at the Atlanta Stadium, ive seen live in concert great bands from the Allman Bros Band, Clapton. Dylan, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zepplin, PINK Floyd etc. The last time I was excited by a new vocalist was in the 90s when Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell, Scott Weiland appear. I promise you if you watch the covers and original songs in English that Im going to suggest.that you will be impressed and happy. COME TOGETHER, LET IT BE-Henning May & guitsr, ROXANNE, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN'S I'M ON FIRE, AMY WINEHOUSE'S VALERIE (a duet with NATALIE FINDLEY) Justin Timberlake's CRY ME A RIVER (Annen and May outside on a cliff in Greece or Italy, NEIL YOUNG'S THE NEEDLE AND THE DAMAGE DONE -Henning and guitar. ANNENMAYKANTEREIT'S ORIGINALS: LEAVIN, WAITING, DONT SAY WORD, YOUR DOOR (C. Annen on acoustic guitar, S. Kantereit on cahone, H. May fabulous vocal and guest, Holgar on steel drum) James lyrics original but music is St James infirmary.Live in Berlin Concert. Enjoy!

Ausgehen = going out (on a date). THIS IS NOT A TRANSLATION. She is not a beauty, she is someone to watch your back, you can rely on. Thank God he asked her. He knows she has to rise early, so he will escort her home safely.
Go on with the good work Gentlemen

good German live band ....but I strongly recommend you to listen to the band FURT and the best band in the world and that is die Ärzte...that is simply the best ironic punk rock in the world... And live they are simply incredible, playing with their lyrics and the fans and just doing their thing...these young people are simply indescribable

music might transcend language barriers but only to a point. unluckily you are not able to fully appreciate a song like this if you don't understand the text ...

  • @pami333

But if a *trumpet* is made of brass, how can it be *rusty?* 🤔
Anyway, always worth to look up the lyrics afterwads to understand a song. Because it'd musical mood might sound happy and dancy while it's actually melacholic or depressive...
Here's one that's not as misleading, still worth to check what he's singing about (even though the poetry might get somewhat lost in translation) and I can't believe that this recording is already 8 years old 😲

I don't know how to describe it better, but what is sung there are not really songs, it's more of a garage jam session that has made it to the big stage. It's about the music, the instrumentals. And the vocals are also just pure instruments. The lyrics are just added, without much depth, just to sing along. The whole song only asks here, for example, if someone wants to go out with him today, because he likes her. That's all. That's really all, lyrically nothing more to it. Everyday situations are sung lyrically. Normal things like I go get milk for the coffee I drink. Something like that.

LOL - just imagine anyone not fluent in english had years of been hardly impressed by english songs. That is normal for the main part of the world.
