You should rely more on your buoyancy than on the movement itself. Use the water in your favor, by keeping your lungs full of air and your body immersed in the water as much as possível. The air exchange has to be done quickly, and have in mind that full lungs means that you have to expand your chest and belly beyond normal, in order to win the pressure of the water. Everything immersed in liquid has a opposing vertical force equals to the weight of the liquid volume dislocated, which in the water reduces more than 95% of the human's body weight. The remaining weight can be compensated with air in the lungs. In average, people with lungs full of air can be floating in a vertical position without any moving, having the water level at their eyebrows. The legs and arms movement is just to keep your head a little bit more out of the water. The more you try to emerge, the tiring it gets, so allow your body to immerse more in the water when that happens and don't forget to keep your lungs full. If it becomes to hard, you probably have your lungs at normal capacity, which is not enough for buoyancy. Good luck on your practice, and do it with supervision for safety.
Mas, pelo que eu vi nos vídeos, o eggbeater parece uma manobra para atletas e um pouco difícil para pessoas idosas, sem preparo físico e com alguns problemas no joelho (como artrose). É possivel pessoas assim conseguirem flutuar verticalmente?
Can you do this with tight hips? I have a hard time sitting Indian style without forcing myself into position. Anyone else have this problem? Wondering if it’s still possible to do this movement with tight hip flexors
Actuslly, the lift comes from the downward push of the inside of the shin and the sides of the feet as it scoops the water down. When the legs get pulled back in, it's a lot less friction in the water, like how you would pull a gun out of its holster.
God loves you. We are sinners and we’ve broken the Ten Commandments... but God loves us so much, He was willing to send His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross as payment for our sins to save us from hell and gave an opportunity for us to go heaven when our life on earth is over! Jesus says in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave us only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”! This verse means that when you put your faith in Christ, there is a place for you in heaven! So put your faith in Jesus Christ today, repent and ask for forgiveness of your sins, and may the Lord God bless you!
Tried water polo for the first time today, and let's just say you need to be so fit
I went into water polo without any prior competitive swimming experience, so I’ve been there.
I’m doing that rn
No wonder water polo is one of the hardest sports

I wondered how they did this. Figured it was something like this but the endurance factor 🤯
I can do this for 5 seconds and then I panic and sink 😌
same, i think too hard and then i lose it 😒

You’re not the only one buddy! Lol, I can barely last 5 seconds 😂
it's not that hard, similar to your first time holding the steering wheel. but bear in mind, it only applies in the pool, not sea😁😁
Great video. Had a good laugh when narrator said "eggbeatering"
Always glad to learn a new gerund. ...
Vim pelo professor Paulo
I too
The swim instructor insisted closed knees but i can see it doesnt need to be like that, thanks for underwater videos vert educational !! 🙏🙏
It looks like toward the end he's doing reverse eggbeater?
I tried and I sunk. 😂
Same here. Its harder than it looks.
Same
I will try it next week
Me too
I played it for 10 years, never called it Eggbeater (german : Schneebesen). We called it "water treading" (german : Wassertreten)
Don’t know about other English speaking countries but in the USA everyone calls it eggbeating since there are other ways to tread water.
In French it is called Gainage. Gay = gay. Nage = swim.
great job on the show
Straight up walking on water

Sim é possível, a partir do momento que vc tenha técnica correta, é possível!
Vc pode fazer a pernada do crowl com auxílio dos palmateios
I played water polo over thirty years ago but we didn't have eggs in the water then :D
Can you do this with tight hips? I have a hard time sitting Indian style without forcing myself into position. Anyone else have this problem? Wondering if it’s still possible to do this movement with tight hip flexors
Regardless you should fix your problem, tight hip flexers can mess up squats, running, swimming, and well this. Try some hip mobility stuff on RUclips
This will help you loosen your hips practice it while laying flat first then go to the water with supervision as you get more confident
That has to be hard on your knee ligaments
Not really, for me, it’s more hip flexors
i play waterpolo and it’s so fun but so exhausting
So does the lift come from the leg moving out and away from the body or when the leg gets pulled back in?
Pulled back in
Actuslly, the lift comes from the downward push of the inside of the shin and the sides of the feet as it scoops the water down. When the legs get pulled back in, it's a lot less friction in the water, like how you would pull a gun out of its holster.
The narrator sounds like John c Reilly decided to narrate a water polo training video
I’m able to do this for like 10 minutes until I start getting leg cramps-
It appears the eggbeater way of tread is for fresh water as it is less buoyant than salt water.
Frogs learned this technique from humans 1 milions years ago
Very good.
It's very easy I do it four times of the week.
Oh good for you
My school says this is the best sport ever but I hate it and I get mad a lot that I wanna hurt or break someone or something
i tried this technique but i couldn't do it , i don't know if you kick the water or you press it or you sweep anyone can help!
My understanding its like a propeller on a ship .. feet flat.. alternate one leg at a time from hamstring outward with a wide base..
You sweep the water with the side of your leg area between the knee and the foot
You gotta use your legs kinda like a scoop and they need to be wide you can start by just breath stroking then incorporate the motion
Where your tool?

I love you.
i wish i can do this. but im so heavy i will drown. pls support me brothers as i go to this weight loss journey. may allah bless you
Why is it called the eggbeater? I have beaten eggs many times and this treading water "eggbeater" action does not resemble beating eggs at all.

I really wish the video would stop spinning around the player. The legs itself rotating and the camera man also rotating, making me dizzy 😵

Trying to convert RUclips viewers to a religion within a thread about water polo treading? The missionary team is desperate AF 😂
Why were water polo girls the grossest people in high school?
