I have been sending emails to many of the ministries in Jamaica for the past 5 years encouraging them to build more green spaces/parks for people to recreate on the island. I live in Maryland, US which is about the size of Jamaica. Maryland is filled with parks and activity centers for public use. Taxpayer dollars pay for these amenities. I am glad to see that the Government is doing something about this very needed change in society. I hope they build up some activity centers with swimming pools in the country too so that the children can learn to swim. Many boys used to drown in the river when I was growing up there as a child.

Thank you so much, I'm glad you like my work! However, I think there are a lot of amazing journalists in Jamaica. I met one of them, Kiki, just recently. They are not sleeping, but they are often limited by all sorts of rules and regulations and cannot be free to create content the way they want. Whoever pays - controls journalism. In my case - RUclips advertisement and policy is the control of what I create, but it's not too bad. It prevents me from doing certain things - e.g. I cannot feature a child in the video at close-up without a special permission (notice how in this video all children were filmed at a distance) or the video can get flagged if I chose "inappropriate" topics, but at least it doesn't push me into writing things I don't want to write.

I checked who was P.M. & it was PJ PATTERSON. So the PNP established this economic principle so Tourism dollars contributes to developing Jamaica in ways that directly improves citizens lives.
      ▪ Thankfully P.M. Andrew Holness had enough WISDOM to continue the principle. So BOTH PARTIES can take the credit for Jamaica's development.*

@@colinsmith2488 So to interview the government built UDC park is getting into tribal politics? That is because you have a political diatribe and obviously partipate in tribal policis. A pure intentioned view...most persons are not thinking on which government but the well deserved end product. The end product is of interest to most while you are focussing on tribal politics. Jamaicans are of all sorts and she is not claiming to be Jamaican, she has said that many times in her videos. See what she is doing for the good of it, good exposure and informing Jamaicans and the diaspora about developments in our country.
Nothing is wrong with her getting information from a government source, it's the best place for her to go and it has nothing to do with politics. I bet before this you didn't know who funded the project and how tourism tax is spent...

It’s great that tourist money goes to local projects - whether it’s things like the park or on infrastructure. Harmony beach park for example would be no fun if it was just there for tourists. We’d all leave in search of places the locals enjoy. They got it exactly right. If anything - all tourist money the government receives should go straight back to those who live there either directly or through investing in the country and its infrastructure. Great video :)

We need to develop at least two other public parks in Jamaica 🇯🇲 like this including Brooks Park in Mandeville. The government needs to reclaim the majestic Hope Gerdens and invest the same amount of money on a comprehensive upgrade of the facility and Zoo. The government is to be commended for executing this project 🙄.
