I have been sending emails to many of the ministries in Jamaica for the past 5 years encouraging them to build more green spaces/parks for people to recreate on the island. I live in Maryland, US which is about the size of Jamaica. Maryland is filled with parks and activity centers for public use. Taxpayer dollars pay for these amenities. I am glad to see that the Government is doing something about this very needed change in society. I hope they build up some activity centers with swimming pools in the country too so that the children can learn to swim. Many boys used to drown in the river when I was growing up there as a child.

Although I think her presentation is clinical in scopes but I think it is best for her to keep out of the politics of this country because Jamaicans politics are based on tribalism and she being a white woman from an European country most Jamaicans will not see her as one of us
@@colinsmith2488 So to interview the government built UDC park is getting into tribal politics? That is because you have a political diatribe and obviously partipate in tribal policis. I bet before this you didn't know who funded the project and how tourism tax is spent...
Yes and it was a very clever question she asked using herself as a "airbnb" owner😂. Am sure she already knew the answer but she still asked the question for the general public to understand
Good job Irie, I did not know the park is open as I have not been to Montego Bay in more than 4 years. I also love that you highlight the positives. God bless you, God bless Jamaica land we love.
It’s great that tourist money goes to local projects - whether it’s things like the park or on infrastructure. Harmony beach park for example would be no fun if it was just there for tourists. We’d all leave in search of places the locals enjoy. They got it exactly right. If anything - all tourist money the government receives should go straight back to those who live there either directly or through investing in the country and its infrastructure. Great video :)
We need to develop at least two other public parks in Jamaica 🇯🇲 like this including Brooks Park in Mandeville. The government needs to reclaim the majestic Hope Gerdens and invest the same amount of money on a comprehensive upgrade of the facility and Zoo. The government is to be commended for executing this project 🙄.
The park is a really great addition to Montego Bay, definitely worth it. This docu piece is really well done. Very comprehensive and love the fact that you got interviews. Great job, keep it up 👌🏽

What a great project !I live in a heavily touristy area of the UK where the G7 summit was hosted ,it's great to see this sort of investment that benefits locals our government should learn from the Jamaicans !
Heck yes its worth it!! Last time I was in Mo Bay the only free beach for locals was a little piece of beach right next to the airport. The locals work hard and deserve a place just as nice as all of the resorts in the area. Long past due, in my opinion.
This is what our people need and deserve. They need a park like this all over the Island.

Unless you tour jamaica on your own, as well as travel to other countries, you will never know the gem we have on that little rock in the Caribbean sea.
Absolutely brilliant coverage, Irie! The TEF and UDC are doing a great job and have a good vision for JA!
I totally agree! 👍
Love that she was also looking out for herself. She is definitely a jamaican.🇯🇲😂
i visited harmony park last week, its a beautiful spot, clean safe and of course crystal clear water
This project is worth the money! Thanks for the journalism, the finance, architecture, builders, and everyone who was involved in building this wonderful park! May this be properly maintained and everyone who use it keep it clean and free from danger. One day , by God's grace, I will visit there
Hey Irie, my name is Gary. I am a jamaican working/living in Grand Cayman. Sitting on the floor in my room, reviewing the drawings of an upcoming project, so as I watched a few stuff on RUclips I can across your channel for the first time. In short, I am blown away by your expo of the harmony park. Wow.
Thank you and welcome to the channel! I hope you find other content interesting too! :)
This is absolutely breathtaking and I am confident that it's the beginning ❤. Thank you for the exposé..🇺🇸
Love this. I hope to visit when next in JA. Hellshire beach need some tlc too. Glad to see beaches waterfronts public spaces freely accessible to locals
Thanks IRIE, for showing this wonderful video footage of this beautiful new park. Well done! Bless you.....
Well I'm not a montegonion but I absolutely love it!!. Loved the way you structured the Vlog, and shed some light on just how some of these capital projects are funded.
And of course the biggest part of it is that it's a FREE public park, with free to use amenities. We often say that we the locals don't get to enjoy the beauty of our country that much; well, this is one example where the government actually took something that the public enjoyed and made it much much more enjoyable.
Hey Irena good afternoon to you and hope things are improving in Jamaica, well I must say your video is very informative and a eye opener for me, I am a born Jamaican and I only travel from Montego Bay 2 times so I am not too familiar with that area, I didn't know about Harmony Park, it is a beautiful scenery with the landscape, Irena since I started watching your videos about Jamaica a lot that I knew about the island is when I tune to your vlog on RUclips, the Jamaica tourist board dont have a clue how to sell Jamaica to the world, hats off to you Irena for show casing Jamaica to a lot of us, you are a gem and I am glad that you are a resident of Jamaica and it's great to have someone like you to showcase this place. Stay bless and keep safe.
Thank you, I'm glad you find the information useful and videos helpful! :) I don't agree with the point about Jamaica Tourist Board though - they also do a great job, that's why tourism is the leading industry in Jamaica. They just don't know how to work with youtube, that's all :)
Big up yourself Irena Girl, you have done a great job again, showing Jamaica. Love you and thanks from a fellow Jamaican.
Fabulous Interview. Well done. True Journalism. I am impressed.
Thanks again Irie for the enlightening information about our beautiful country Jamaica Land We Love 💚🇯🇲 Always so informative. Great Job💯.👏
This is a very good and excellent video. Finally, get to see something positive coming out of our country.
Continue doing a good job.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. Nuff ❤ from a Jamaican to a Ukrainian.
I love your videos. I learn so much about JA, a place I appreciate so much. The in depth info you provide is a great bonus. When I visit again I plan to visit this newly developed park. Thanks for sharing!
I use to always go a "dump up" 😄 glad fe see this project completed now. Can't wait to go deh soon
Harmony park is a must see for my next Jamaica vacation, thanks again irena🌹
3 mins from me, so i can go run in the mornings when i am there. I hope and pray that the Govt has ways to ensure that no guns get into the park. they say its free, but for how long...well drivers pay.
Thank you for this - this was very informative....exciting and well worth the 30 mins of my day.
Have her go to SALT SPRING AND WEST KINGSTON AND HAVE THEM SET UP SOME AWESOME TOP NOTCH SECURITY IN THOSE AREAS AND BEAUTIFUL HOUSING AND PARKS FOR THE REAL BLACK NATIVES LOCALS HARD WORKING INNOCENT JAMAICANS .
This new Jamaican out here telling me more info about my country than the locals 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
IRE, thank for making Jamaica your home. We jamaican do appreciate you
This government is developing our beautiful island with the tax payers money never in history we never see this people let’s be honest .only thing is to find a solution for the ongoing crime in the country likewise beautiful tourist site like Holland bamboo very bad road which needs to be repaired.
@@claudettewilson8610 crime will never disappear, even in wealthy countries there is still crime.
@@bread90210 Jamaica never this bad with crime talk truth
@@claudettewilson8610 Please listen CAREFULLY when Irene does her videos. She tends to give the proper perspective WITHOUT political bias. *Irene SAID the TEF was STARTED in 2004. I checked who was P.M. & it was PJ PATTERSON. So the PNP established this economic principle so Tourism dollars contributes to developing Jamaica in ways that directly improves citizens lives.
▪ Thankfully P.M. Andrew Holness had enough WISDOM to continue the principle. So BOTH PARTIES can take the credit for Jamaica's development.*
▪ Hopefully they can fix Helshire Beach and OTHER places not just tourist areas.
Hope that cleared things up for you. #YoureWelcome!😁 God Bless!💙
Irena i have been watching you now for over a year, and i think you are doing a fantastic job with pointing out what Jamaica has to offer in tourism..IRINA YUH BIG NOW ENUH< getting an interview with the GOVT..keep up the great content and bless
Although I think her presentation is clinical in scopes but I think it is best for her to keep out of the politics of this country because Jamaicans politics are based on tribalism and she being a white woman from an European country most Jamaicans will not see her as one of us
@@colinsmith2488 says you
@@colinsmith2488 Our motto is out and many one people. So shut the hell up.
@@colinsmith2488 So to interview the government built UDC park is getting into tribal politics? That is because you have a political diatribe and obviously partipate in tribal policis. A pure intentioned view...most persons are not thinking on which government but the well deserved end product. The end product is of interest to most while you are focussing on tribal politics. Gwah!
@@colinsmith2488 enough with your nonsense, we aren't tribal and stop with the race baiting. Jamaicans are of all sorts and she is not claiming to be Jamaican, she has said that many times in her videos. See what she is doing for the good of it, good exposure and informing Jamaicans and the diaspora about developments in our country.
Nothing is wrong with her getting information from a government source, it's the best place for her to go and it has nothing to do with politics. I bet before this you didn't know who funded the project and how tourism tax is spent...
Knowledge is gained from interviews when the questions asked to give insight into operations and motives for actions occur. Thanks, Irina!
Yes and it was a very clever question she asked using herself as a "airbnb" owner😂. Am sure she already knew the answer but she still asked the question for the general public to understand
This video is packed with a wealth of Information. I feel so aware now
Thanks irina Jamaican ambassador you're a jem.
This park is very beautiful and awesome landscaping too
So glad you're getting more access to do more deep dives. Keep up the great work!!!!
my visit here led to a major sunburn 🤣 but i really loved this park! a win for mobay. great video! 💜
Impressive ..we need one in Nergil
I wasn't expecting this. You're really good at making videos.👏👏
Nice to see the improvements. Let’s hope they keep up the upkeep.
This park is beautiful!
Great interview Irena, no doubt top man appreciate your work for tourism too.
Thanks irie for the information... Never knew that's there's a beautiful park like that in mobay....keep up the good work ... Nuff Respect
The park is a really great addition to Montego Bay, definitely worth it. This docu piece is really well done. Very comprehensive and love the fact that you got interviews. Great job, keep it up 👌🏽
Very interesting video with a lot of information. I love Harmony beach park, it's a great addition to Montego Bay. Jamaica has changed a lot since I first got there in 1989. Big up yourself well done.
It is a beautiful place to go with your family.
Glad to see Jamaica are now enjoying the park space and the beautiful beach.
This is Great, love the way you interviewed the gentleman about the project, and he explained it brilliantly. I can't wait to visit Harmony Park. I thank you also for highlighting Jamaica in a positive way.
Wow...was in MoBay Jan 2019...noticed something happing there on that beach. It really improves to the walk along the Hip Strip. Will be back this fall. That place will be hopping once food and drink places open. It will give Doctor's Cave some real competition. Great job...
wow the water is mind blowing i need to spend 6 months in jamaica
Yes, you do! And yes, the water feels even better than it looks! ))
Job well done again Iriena . Well researched, planned and presented.
UDC is one of the government entities that operates with professionalism and vision. I think they need to be more aggressive and expand their role by highlighting and undertaking more projects to develop areas outside of the major cities and towns.
I totally agree
I'm African particularly from Guinea Conakry I have so much love for Jamaica may God bless all the people that live and take care of this country. I would like to this opportunity to say hello popcan chronic jah care...
Irina I really cannot get enough of your uploads! So enlightening and entertaining. Thank you.
Thanks Miss Irie. You are a gem . You deserve an award for showing us Jamaicans our country in an understanding way👍
Well done Irina , that was a great interview. Harmony beach really looks great .
This is marvelous development, keep it up jamaica .
Urban development hope that get to ST Thomas Jamaica 🇯🇲 soon , love ❤️ this video
It’s a good look for my beautiful Jamaica 🇯🇲
Irie I enjoy watching your program.
You doing a fantastic job.
Most Jamaican who do these types of programs sometimes being bias because of political reasons Instead of looking at the brighter picture and what the government doing for the country.
I interduse a lot of people in England to your programs because theirs is so much people would like to go there but scared because of who the media portrayed Jamaica .
It's really fabulous what you're doing keep up the good work and keep on being honest with your programs bless.
Ahhh....this win 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 give the praise when and where it's due. Well done GOJ
What a great project !I live in a heavily touristy area of the UK where the G7 summit was hosted ,it's great to see this sort of investment that benefits locals our government should learn from the Jamaicans !
This is sooooooooo needed in Montego Bay. It really is the only thing that was missing from the area.
Heck yes its worth it!! Last time I was in Mo Bay the only free beach for locals was a little piece of beach right next to the airport. The locals work hard and deserve a place just as nice as all of the resorts in the area. Long past due, in my opinion.
