This gentleman can’t stop him from selling out everything.
Even though I have grown up in Canada, my heart is in JA. I appreciate all that Canada has given me but the idea of the JA government giving foreigners so much power in our country is very disturbing to me. How could that change? Do we need to help like minded youths to rise up into positions of power and influence? Yes, I think that's part of the solution. I have a cousin, trained as a Physiotherapist in JA but is leaving for the states so she can earn decent money. She's struggling out there in this field and that's so sad. Here in Canada, we invest in paying healthcare workers what they are worth. The mindset needs to be to educate and bring in investors who don't want to own JA but contribute to its ability to thrive!
These are the things Jamaican should be watching and highlighting on their platforms, it will teach these young generation's values and how they can accomplish anything in life once you put your mind to it. Great content Throp.
This gentleman really cares about Jamaica and Jamaicans. His vision for providing affordable homes for young people and low income families is the best thing I have heard coming out of Jamaica, and it takes someone who is not a politician to realise the vision. Excellent work Mr Daniel. Mr father's name was Daniel, and his motto was, you cant live for yourself alone. You are a Jamaicaaican hero.

I enjoyed this interview and was tuned in throughout the whole video. The question about crime was a very important one, expats or returning residents are easily identified by criminals and can become a target in the wrong area. I personally believe the current crime fighting system is in need of serious reform. However, while crime may be a concern, it's extremely important that we are not deterred and invest in Jamaica because we play a significant role in its progress. Thanks for highlighting ordinary people who are doing extraordinary things. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic interview. I like Jamaican owned resorts, love the culture. Have stayed at many all inclusives on the Island and they often lack the Jamaican flair. Night after night of Michael Jackson impersonators on stage and I say, where's the reggae? You should both be guests on the "Irie Hour", a live show hosted by the Jamaica Tourist Board in Canada and showcase your beautiful resorts. Visitors want culture and Jamaican hospitality.
Can I ask why this very intelligent, well-spoken, caring businessman isn't a member of parliament? This short interview tells me and other listeners that he cares deeply not only for his businesses but for the environment and the world he's living in. Hey Thop, great interview.. your guest is a man with vision. I think a lot of his passion stems from living and traveling abroad which has broadened his perspective of how developed and advanced Jamaica can be.
...what a small world! This video popped up randomly. I visited Travellers in Oct 2013 and had the greatest time. Either you (or your brother maybe?) showed me and another young lady around town and were extremely hospitable. Although I got the worst sunburn in life, I still ate good and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Hope you all are doing well.
Very enlightening interview. Love the history and love for preservation of the environment as well as the little lesson in being prepared when opportunity presents itself
The best of us never seem to enter politics. The crooks and the self serving ones always seem to find a way to get in and stay forever. Then to add insult to injury they bring their families to finish us off. I am really sad to have to say this but I believe that it is true.
We decided to buy a vacation property in Jamaica after meeting a visitor from Canada in Jamaica who went back to buy a vacation property there. My hubby asked why are we not investing more there and we are Jamaicans. Thats how it started.
So glad I found this interview. I have always stayed at Charela when in Negril but never knew the background. My wife and I love lounging under the Palm trees while under the beach there. Usually we are on Grace Beach in Turks and Caicos for vacation because of its quiet peacefulness, but when we come home to Jamaica we come to Negril after spending time at our property not far from the Blue Lagoon in Portland. So happy to know Charela is owned by a local. I have friends who own The Polkerris bed and breafast in Montego Bay so the mrs and I are always rotating between there and Charela Inn. Great interview!!!
Such a valuable head of wisdom, harness and supplement that with some innovation and the future benefits will be enormous. We have are sitting on so much untapped value in Jamaica, I hope we don't continue to sit and contemplate while we continue to lose most of it to foreigners. Very good interview, great channel, please keep up the good work !!!
Very useful video to see the example of a black family (= a Jamaican African & his Tanzanian African wife,) plant a biz and grow it like they grow crops on their farm (like tree crops that take years to start bearing.) I will help to spread the word by showing this video on the BlackEcon-Network Channel soon. Reparations Now for MAINLY for Black Business Development. United we stand, but divided we fall. Africa for the Africans @ home & abroad.
I M Very Proud of this Gentleman, who has done will to build Jamaica's Name and Integrity and continues to expand on the beauty and Lustre of our country, very happy to listen to that interview and I will be visiting there one-day. Thank you very much, and may the Lord continues to bless and keep you.
He sounds more American than English, that's funny. Throp I want to move to Jamaica so badly but the land prices are so unreasonable. Since 2004 I wanted to move and I should have moved at that time. Thanks for always bringing the best!
I am also ready to move there but the crime is worrisome. We should keep in touch, I believe we like minded folks need to bond together. I already have my home. Have some business ideas but the crime is always on my mind.
@@mitziecharleston9941 I agree with you. I am all about nature and my parents are from there. The crime does not scare me one bit because they are just people like us and the devil is everywhere, so God can protect us anywhere we live if we trust Him. We need to walk by faith and not by sight, or sight will scare us into hiding.
This was a great show. I see so many possibilities for myself as a career coach if I was to move to Negril especially if that high school is built. My biggest fear is the crime in Jamaica overall that I keep hearing about from those still living there or those who have recently left. Having left at 7 yr old to Canada and not visiting as often as I would have liked to, Jamaica seems a bit foreign yo me. But now, there is a desire to reconnect and relearn my roots. I’m encouraged to hear about short term rentals…. Definitely good for thought about visiting. Thank you again Thop! Enjoying your channel. Cheryl
Start by going much more often, and don't limit yourself to where you're originally from, especially if it is currently a bad or just disadvantaged area. Stay in a regular hotel or bed and breakfast so that you can spend money to book yourself a driver for the week and plan to go to various open houses in parishes you saw on here that you are interested in and go take home and land tours, check out neighborhoods, talk to people who live there about what they like and what they don't like about owning a home there, how the utilities are there like water service and water pressure, electricity, phone signal, internet signal, and how they feel crime is in the community over the years. And when you find a favourite area, start visiting there exclusively and getting familiar, even start practicing to rent a car and drive between airport and that area so you get used to navigating on your own. Just gradually get yourself back into life there so that when you finally decide to buy land or house, you don't feel like a fish out of water and you know the runnings (how things really work) in the specific area you buying in! It will also make it faster for you to make an offer from overseas if you are plenty familiar with the area the home or land is located in so that you don't have to buy a plane ticket just to make the offer. Use the next few years to re-establish your Jamaican identity, starting by going to any Jamaica tax administration office and applying for your TRN.
@@MontegoBayTechTalk thanks for all this great information! Are you currently living in JA? My background has been in Career Coaching, wondering about opportunities to be self employed in this field out there but as far as buy a place or just finding the right area to live, your advise has been very beneficial, so thank you. I need to start with visiting. My sister recently got married in NY but she plans to do a full wedding out in JA in Dec. 2022. I hope at that time to visit JA and do some exploring. If you live there, would love to connect. thanks again for the great info! I have to admit most of the feedback I've already gotten has made me a bit fearful. Any thoughts or feedback on this point would be appreciated!

It’s Not Luck, It’s God’s Blessings in our lives..
He’s right on the button, oh man. Motivating MOTIVATIONS. I’m rearing (beam me up Scottie), to finish my JA project and get involved with some stainable projects. 🇬🇧 born, however ❤️ absolutely for 🇯🇲.
Motivations indeed..One of the oldest there Charela Inn..Sundowner was the oldest...
Thanks for this positive and amazing story. I hope to visit his properties one day.
I love the wisdom pouring out of this gentleman. He has really planted a seed. Time to return home….😊
🙏🏾 love this
Hey Thop, great interview.. your guest is a man with vision.
Love the history and love for preservation of the environment as well as the little lesson in being prepared when opportunity presents itself
thank you so much for watching
Why is this man not the Prime Minister? His view of housing and dignity and social development is spot on.
He is pretty amazing
The best of us never seem to enter politics. The crooks and the self serving ones always seem to find a way to get in and stay forever. Then to add insult to injury they bring their families to finish us off. I am really sad to have to say this but I believe that it is true.
Fantastic interview well done
I’m so happy to discover this platform. Always learning from it great job 👏
Another epic interview from my favorite RUclips channel.
This is absolutely a beautiful interview love Farming in Jamaica🧡💚🧡🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Thanks so much for watching
This was really great. His wisdom and grace reminds me of my dad. Love it ❤️
Big up Daniel, we all need to keep fighting for a clean environment.
Thanks for the words of wisdom shared in this interview. To God be the glory!
Thank you for watching
We decided to buy a vacation property in Jamaica after meeting a visitor from Canada in Jamaica who went back to buy a vacation property there. My hubby asked why are we not investing more there and we are Jamaicans. Thats how it started.
Commenting on all my favorites 🤣… his spirit is so incredibly calming and beautiful. I rewatch this one all the time!
thank you thank you!!!!
Beautiful restaurant. Would love to visit it one day. Great interview.
Wow Throp another power house thanks for the great work you are doing in my town
Love that story.
This is awesome and encouraging. I am so inspired. Thanks Throp for this outstanding episode.
Love this video. I love my country and I'm so proud of this channel and this interview
Awesome. Thank you so much
“We do welcome the the big international companies….they bring something” 😂😂😂😂😂YES! LOVE man’s that was Gold
Good discussion about Jamaica and informative. Excellent
👏👏👏👏👏👏Well done to you, Thorp a great interview. The gentleman was superb. You are promoting Negril, Jamaica, documenting a vision and history.
Great interview calming spirit👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This was very inspiring!!
🙏🏾🙏🏾 thank you for watching
Well done sir for preserving the moras keep up the good works out there in Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🙏🏽
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for watching
Crime is every where you just have to be aware of your surroundings and the people in your circle and don't be too stand out
@@mitziecharleston9941 I agree with you. I am all about nature and my parents are from there. The crime does not scare me one bit because they are just people like us and the devil is everywhere, so God can protect us anywhere we live if we trust Him. We need to walk by faith and not by sight, or sight will scare us into hiding.
It's never too late but do it now. Life is changing you have to live out your purpose. Follow your passions and avoid living a life filled with regret

Hi Cheryl! Thank you for your comment. I think there is a ton of potential down here for your line of business
I've heard if you are successful, people want to rob from you. I don't want to generalize because I'm sure it only speaks to a small sect of people who do this but it's still a real fear. Any thoughts or feedback on this point would be appreciated!
This video gave me LIFE!!!! So so so amazing
I am so grateful
THANK YOU!!!!!
Thank you Vanessa!
Amazing insight and contributions
This gentleman has contributed so much to Negril. He has so much information
Soo good to see you doing one of the things you do best. Another great guest and even greater becuz he's from Hanover. Throp you look great, that Negril air is goooood. See you on the next.
Ahaha thank you!
Throp Up and Up king Bigboutya 💯🏴🇪🇺🇨🇦🇬🇧🇺🇲
I really enjoyed this video as someone who loves to visit Jamaica. I’ve had the chance to meet locals, stay in various places and have a feel for the country. It reminded me a bit of my own motherland of India in a way; fresh fruit, warm weather and the kind nature of ppl. I would love to retire in JA at some point. It makes sense to invest in real estate as the country develops further. Love your vids Throp.
