I am just a service dog trainer and I seriously go through the grocery store and talk to my dogs like "Now we have to go get eggs, oh dear they are out of my favorite kind, I guess these will have to do... what do you think? I think I will survive" hahaha I dont really watch to see if people stare at me... but I do it when it is just the two of us.. haha but I don't think its weird.. I think its more awkward to ignore my dogs and not have a conversation haha.
These are so relatable... I don't have a SD. I sleep on a mat on the floor, eat cheap food, and don't have many possessions, but my dogs have like 10 harnesses, eat the best high quality and homemade food, etc. XD I will train in public and usually have conversations with my dogs while doing so. Or shopping for them... or just walking. I've had people point and laugh or stare... still don't care. I'm talking to dogs. Leave me alone. Enough about me, this channel is awesome! Very relatable, beautiful Aussie, and it's wonderful to see such a positive person and a wonderful service dog! :D
"People give you weird looks, but you don't really care!" They'll do it anyway so why not?! :P My boy dresses way better than I do. I go out in raggy old clothes because I can't afford new ones, dog hair(from or white pet dog) all over my jeans, hair a mess. My dog? He just got groomed, his harness was oiled and conditioned the night before, his boots are clean. He looks sharp- I gotta take a picture before we go!
ServiceDog Vlog i love your videos. i to have a SD. i can really relate to the treats everywhere. cleaned out my purse the other day. found a huge handful of treats that spilled out in there. hard as a brick. but Snow still ate them lol.
My friend Kim, up in Canada, says these same things about her service dog, like posts on HER Facebook page addressing him. Her dog, Duke, is a Husky and she self trains.
I do everything you mentioned... Especially the talking to my dog part. A guy kept thinking I was talking to someone so he'd go around the corner then swing back around when he'd hear me... That is until he saw that is was my dog keeping up the other side of the conversation. :)
Yes same! If anyone wants the front seat she's going to be on their lap bc she is my right hand girl (and a beagle) Now when im done training my gsd? Id like to see them try!
I am the person who at any time has at least 6 dog treats and 3 poop bags. I have figured out all the different uses for poop bags ie. Pony tail holder, treat bag, trash can, glove, puke bag, sock on a rainy day, way to keep phone dry, way to carry wet cloths, I could keep going. I’ve even tasted all of my SDiTs treats because I was board 😂
I just met my service dog for the first time yesterday and spent 4 hours with her. Kata is Akita and such a well behaved 1 yr old, I will be starting training with her and the trainer next week. I'm so excited. thanks for your videos, they are very informative. Any tips for a new Handler / Owner?
When I was going through my handler training the trainer said the dogs are the person now, your just the person who wears their leash to other people. I use a leather (Amish Made) across the body leash and it feels like he's my handler sometimes.
thank you so much for explain this video to everyone i have a disbilty called eplicy thank you so much for explaining about what a service dog is now i feel good about getting one now so thank you and thanks for suporting pepople who have a disiblty thanks so much
Just goes to show that some expressions can be so badly misunderstood! lol 2:05 I actually grew concerned when Bugsie snarled at you. Probably because of having been attacked by a dog once. It was a long time ago, but I did have to be rushed off to hospital.
+Bert Visscher if you know dogs that was not a snarl that was a yawn if you watch her other videos he is a Lazy happy pouch that very much loves his owner those two are more than a service dog team they are best friends
Going along with people knowing your SD's name and not yours...people who do know your name always say hi to your service dog first 😐 I was laughing pretty hard at many of these. Poop bags - yes, and you have found one too many poop bags in your dryer 😳😁
Ok i relate to the packing thing and I don't even have a service dog. I'm type one diabetic and autistic so two thirds of what I pack is medical and one one third is things I actually want to bring. -_-
No. You are only permitted a service animal if it mitigates a disability. Aside from that you can have your dog take a good citizen test with the AKC and get special discounts at boarding facilities.
Dropping everything to give a butt scratch. This is me with my aunt's collie! I love him to pieces!!!
Anywhere, anytime. :)

when you go to the store to get just one thing and walk out with a cart full of stuff / toys / treats your service dog does not really need...lol

My friend Kim, up in Canada, says these same things about her service dog, like posts on HER Facebook page addressing him.

Yes same! If anyone wants the front seat she's going to be on their lap bc she is my right hand girl (and a beagle) Now when im done training my gsd? Id like to see them try!

Ok i relate to the packing thing and I don't even have a service dog. I'm type one diabetic and autistic so two thirds of what I pack is medical and one one third is things I actually want to bring.
-_-
Don't call me out like this
I'm more snarky then sarcastic ;)
Soooo true!
Of course you don't have to answer because some people don't like talking about it but what service does your dog provide? Is he a PSA?
I suggest watching a few more of her videos Bugsy does a lot ( :
then I have three service dogs! :D
THIS IS ME ALL THE WAY!
the video is so true though
O u O I'd agree with the front seat thing buuuuut my girl is a berner and dosent fit....she's big

😂😂😂
if you are not disabled and you train your dog to become a service dog can you bring it in place that don't allow pets.
No. You are only permitted a service animal if it mitigates a disability. Aside from that you can have your dog take a good citizen test with the AKC and get special discounts at boarding facilities.
That's illegal
;)
