I've been wayching for years (& finishing my van as you were my inspiration) And I'm old. So I can say this. "Your Mom must have had a heck of a fun time raising you".
@BobbieStankowski "I've been wayching for....." 🌷 I'm 'old' also... and I agree with you! She's just a DearHeart! Had I been lucky enough to have a child, I would have hoped for her to be exactly exactly like this young woman. 🌻
Loved the entire process! I really enjoyed learning about how to process wild clay! I’ve heard that natives would burnish their pots and left them unfired. And people wonder why handmade pottery is pricey. And there’s no price tag for all the trials and errors along the way. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your creations, and all the learning along the way 🫶🥰. Scratches for Akela❤️
Linnea, this is how well known and successful artists are born. I predict that you will be a well known artist and people will be seeking out your pieces! They are beautiful! Good job!
I'm so glad you decided to repair the broken pot. The Japanese art of Kintsugi uses lacquer mixed with gold, silver, or platinum to repair broken ceramic pieces. I've always been in love with those pieces, I think sometimes even more so than the pristine, unbroken pieces. Lots of hard work and lots of learning for you but what a lovely result.
I mean honestly, Linnea, is there anything you cannot do? I love how you find beauty and joy in the process of everything you do. So simple and satisfying to watch.
The words of Bob Ross 'there are no mistakes, only happy accidents.' The pots are beautiful and unique just like you😍. You are so talented and an inspiration. Thank you!
Back in the 70's there was a gathering of the ceramics departments from several of the local colleges. It was called "The Full Moon Raku", and what an event it was. We met up in the Sand Dunes at Pescadero Beach for a weekend of Raku, Pit firing, etc. I still have a few of the pieces I fired at that event. Those are both beautiful pieces, and the experience is part of the beauty.
I teach sculpture and of the lessons I try to impart over and over is that materials will speak to you and tell you what they will do and what they won’t. So cool seeing you demonstrate that mindset by literally talking to your pots on the wheel! ❤
The clay pots came out beautifully! The coloring and I love the addition of the turquoise and the rope - that you made with your own hands!!! Lessons learned! You won't make that mistake again unless you do it intentionally! Use horse hair on the pot in your firing to add another element. I noticed that the inside of the container had been painted or at least a primer had been painted on. You have come so far!!! Nice to see Noah there to help you!
This was amazing to watch. Your process, letting the clay become what it wants- it’s all so intuitive! Love the finished pieces and I look forward to seeing what you create next!
Linnea, you rock! I love your RUclips channel. Why? You are fearless, tenacious, mostly so happy, in other words a delight to watch. Love how you treat your Mom, Chris and dogs. So respectful and kind. I’m in the winter of my life. Watch your weekly vlog makes my day. Sit and knit hats for Calgary women’s shelter and remember my youth.
I think since living your life since you bought that land , has given you so much patience and you don’t let things get to you as much , that’s what I have noticed about you my dear , see how your life has given you all these ideas some new to me to see, and I know hat these changes are giving you more to read about how you do things , sorry your pots cracked, but at least you now know what to do the next time you make them love watching your fantastic videos ❤❤❤
I love your comment she inspires me so much that I am in Ouray, Colorado for a few weeks and I am signing up for a beginner pottery class and a very beginner class of fly fishing in classroom and casting outside but not in water yet. I just am inspired!❤
@@BeeAnythingBeeKind Good for you enjoy your life and learn all you can I live in England and just follow Linnea, love to see her next ideas she comes up with and her dog Alexa she’s a smart dog 👍
Beautiful .........just simply beautiful.. Mistakes happen when we need to learn lessons.....just remember that. ....it makes it not hurt so much 😊 Thank you for sharing and letting us enjoy your progress. 🫰🙏🕊🙏💜💜💜
It is so fun to watch you throw and create beautiful art in the wild. When coning down try pushing the clay down and away from you. It uses the momentum and will cone down beautifully. & ignore me if you are already doing that, it's hard to tell from the angle of the camera lol You can add all sorts of crazy things for variations like dried animal scat. Dog, bird, moose, bear- a great way to add a special touch to your wild clay pieces.
My mom has worked with clay for many years, making large wall murals. We all know when something has cracked because she has always added beads to the cracked pieces. It’s rather a family joke that when so,etching isn’t going as planned, just add beads!! Your two pots are simply amazing. Truly the most beautiful pots I’ve ever seen!!
Your innate sense of adventure and experimentation is truly inspirational. I deeply appreciate you sharing all the steps (and especially the lessons!) of literally everything you do. 💜
Im always amazed by you and what you can accomplish. Great job...and how cool to hang out on your property in a chair doing the things you love with that view. Be safe. Be happy. Be free.
It is so great that you love your creations and find ways to save them. You're not a perfectionist in the normal sense. You're able to bring out the beauty of the imperfections. These pieces are like your children. You don't give up on them. You help them to be the best they can be. ❤
Linnea, Broken pieces can be rebuilt, polished and molded into something more beautiful than first intended. Just look at our own journeys through this life, we have been broken at times and then molded into something beautiful through our ever changing moments. You have daily been molded into this beautiful woman that seeks to understand the earth and all it's creatures and you have a beautiful understanding that each molecule has a purpose. As always sending Blessings and Love to you and Chris for your continued adventures on this ever rotating life. Can't wait for your next video and what you've decided to accomplish next.
Beautiful, Linnea. This video makes me think about our hands, and our grandmothers hands, our great great great ancestors hands and all of the work and art that they made…And these hands we have here and now to create with ❤
When I was a kiddo digging in the mud I loved making pinch pots from the clay in the yard and baking them in the fire place. so cool that this is an actual think to do as an adult!
Wow! You are truly one talented and inspiring artist and you never give up. Your brother made an amazing fire pit and tables from scrap. Your parents must be proud of you both. Thank you for sharing. I learned a lot.
Love watching you make pots. I was so into the process when I was in my thirties. I had a creek near my house and I used wild clay for all my dishes and pots. They are still being used 25yrs later. Love your style of throwing. So relaxing to watch...and what a back drop!
Beauty was the outcome. They have such character kind of like it was all done on purpose! Success I say. Thanks for letting us watch the process. See you next time. Nice to see your brother too.
Yeah, I don’t think you could’ve made them more beautiful than you tried either because they are absolutely stunning! These could be shown in a gallery. They are so beautiful. ❤
Watching you doing this process was very soothing, comforting and inspiriting at the same time. I love your dedication to everything you give a go! And the results definitely pay off. Who cares about the imperfections once you turn them into something so special!
Ok just finished watching holy sh!@ girl I got chills at the finished art pieces!!! The clay from Montana as a remembrance of your time their, the cording, the colors the lessons learned, wow! Bloopers with Akela’s paw “helping” made me belly laugh out loud❤❤Anna
I am impressed with how you maintain a single minded focus of your end result image. Even though you are constantly adjusting through out the process. In the end there will be the results, and it will possess it's unique characteristics. They are not flaws, they are features. I was watching an Andy Ward's Ancient Pottery video where he was doing a pit firing. His pots cracked and I think actually exploded. He does a lot of his firing out in the desert around Phoenix, Arizona. He watched his video of the firing and decided that putting his pots on the bear ground around the fire to warm allowed them to absorb just enough moisture to damage his pots. So now he tries to set them on a rock or a pot shard. There is always more clay, I hope you will be able to sell some of your very unique pottery in the future, cheers.
So beautiful. The one orangish pot looks like an Arizona sunset. So gorgeous!!! Thank you for sharing you wonderful talent. I just love watching your videos.

This whole process and video was riveting to watch as whilst I won't ever be doing this myself, I was there witnessing you and cheering you on and I love how you "listen" to the clay/pots to be whatever they are wanting to be.
Linnea they are beautiful and the inlay was a great way to repair those cracks and the dog wood cordage addition to the smaller pot was another great touch
I’m so glad you were able to save the cracked pot! I love how they came out!! I learned so much about the process.. I don’t think I have the patience for it, but I’d LOVE to create something like that! ❤
I'm enjoying the videos from your land. You're doing a great job, kiddo. A while back you mentioned, while making coffee in your van, something about perfecting the "4 minute pour". I think of you briefly with a smile each day while I do my sub one minute pour over.
I truly loved this very calming relaxing video you made here this week Linnea. Like I always say I just wish each weeks episode was at least 1 hour long. I know it takes alot of work to edit your videos but I would be sooo excited to maybe once in awhile see an hour long video. ❤❤ I still love watching you all and I hope the four of you stay safe and keeping enjoying life and the beautiful piece of land you have!! My dearest Linnea ❤❤❤ per usual being the absolute most talented young lady that you are, can say how much I've enjoyed watching you evolve over the years into this master craft woman. These are stunning work of art, you go girl. Thanks for sharing 😊
What a process! Even when things don’t turn out perfectly, I am still so impressed. They are a still beautiful and contain the love of so many special gifts.

Omg Linnea these are so so beautiful. I love how you used the resin and turquoise in the cracks and the cordage wrap is perfect. You should be so proud of yourself. Stunning!!
I have always wanted to do pottery soooo bad. I’ve yet to try it, at 51 yrs old, but I got to try it. Live on the east coast, in Canada. We have massive amounts of natural clay. I just don’t know where to start. Beautiful pieces you created! Love it!
beautiful work, so inspiring, I really enjoyed how you "fixed" them (even though I feel like that is how they were meant to be all along) love it!! can't wait to see how your studio turns out 🌅
I don’t think I’ve sat at the edge of my seat harder (? 🤔) than waiting to see how these pieces turned out after firing. 😬😬 Wounded soldiers sacrificed but not in vain. The burnishing is beautiful and creates stunning pieces! ❤ And Akela makes it into the blooper reel!!

Wow that's a huge compliment from such a professional - thank you so much!
You've inspired me to buy some pottery equipment when I get my own land. Your pottery turned out beautifully.
Oh my Linnea, I think this is my favorite video of all time ❤ Thank You for all your hard work
Enjoyed yet another video of yours. Burnishing was done by the Greeks and anything they did, the Roman's would do. They used Terra sigillata for some of theit fine red (Terracotta clay) pottery with glossy surface. If you translate terra sigillata it simply means 'sealed earth'. They would apply as much as three layers of this and burnish it. Terra sigillata is basically the finest of the finest clay slip, and the sealing of the pot by burnishing is actually aligning all the clay particles flat.
I'm looking at your wheel and don't notice a well. I was going to suggest wetting your pot as you throw it - wet it with slurry. It stops the pot becoming too wet and becoming weak. You can make your own well from wood and line it with lead or something you prefer.
Love the whole concept of what you are doing. Burnishing can be started on the wheel, but as you dont like trimming on the wheel, you probably wouldn't enjoy it.
You are a very creative person, working with what you have. A suggestion is that some cracked pots could be sculpted. Vases don't have to hold water. If it doesn't work, you still have clay to be reprocessed. I do prefer slow drying times like yourself, but when it's done commercially, you Also then need a lot of space.
Some of your designs are very challenging for the clay to hold its shape- hence they collapse. I think we have all there. You can overcome this by using too much clay a trimming when leather hard, or throw in two pieces.
Your office space probably makes most of us jealous in a good way. I like how in a sense, you are bringing back centuries old techniques. Some old potters would take clay from anywhere and they would literally take it from a trackway.
Times were tough and potters couldn't afford to buy clay, so they dug holes in the road and stole it. The next day, wagons would be just about wrecked and the coachman would cursed the Potters and their potholes.
Those pots turned out beautiful!! I especially love the one with the rope/cordage wrapped around the top, absolutely amazing. ❤
Fantastic pots! Sometimes mistakes are happy mistakes! Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!

Thanks so much!
Perfectly imperfect. This video was so fascinating.
Glad you enjoyed it!
WOW! You have soooo much patience. And it surely paid off…..both pots are so unique and beautiful…..love them! Thanks so much for sharing this process….it was so interesting
So fascinating to watch you make those pots and troubleshoot the cracking. Impressive! I love your solution with the turquoise.
Amazing! You have so many skills and talents. I always look forward to seeing new videos from you.
Thank you so much!

WOW!!! They turned out absolutely gorgeous!!!
Great job, so nice to see the learning process, not just 10yrs of experience, doing things seamlessly. ❤thanks for sharing
Linnea they are beautiful and the inlay was a great way to repair those cracks and the dog wood cordage addition to the smaller pot was another great touch
I think I need a lie down. Not from boredom, just because this video totally relaxed me! Hurry next Sunday!
Aw I'm so glad to hear that!
I’m so glad you were able to save the cracked pot! I love how they came out!! I learned so much about the process.. I don’t think I have the patience for it, but I’d LOVE to create something like that! ❤
OMG those are both SO beautiful in their own right, but even more so when one knows how they came to exist.

Beautiful pots. Practice leads to perfection. But those pots have a story.
What a process! Even when things don’t turn out perfectly, I am still so impressed. They are a still beautiful and contain the love of so many special gifts.
I’ve seen kiln fired and Raku fired… but I’ve never seen it like this before. Interesting I never thought that could work!
Love it!
The pots are absolutely gorgeous!! I love the cracks!! Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
beautiful work, so inspiring, I really enjoyed how you "fixed" them (even though I feel like that is how they were meant to be all along) love it!! can't wait to see how your studio turns out 🌅
You are a true artist.
Wow, I think they are awesome. Repaired cracks add wonderful design elements. *Well done* 👍
They are so beautiful
I don’t think I’ve sat at the edge of my seat harder (? 🤔) than waiting to see how these pieces turned out after firing. 😬😬 Wounded soldiers sacrificed but not in vain. The burnishing is beautiful and creates stunning pieces! ❤ And Akela makes it into the blooper reel!!
Wow, I had no idea all that about clay & making pottery.
I like how Akela was helping u work ur magic. 😊🐕
Love your process and watching you figure out what is next. Beautiful!
I love collage. I love how you used found pieces to create beauty. I see beauty from ashes.
Love, love watching clay making!! So pretty
