My mom and I used to be "bulk buddies". We would split big packages of TP, meat, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc.

You're so fun. I too have given trees or other outdoor plants. My sister lost her twins. They just came too early. We gave her 2 dogwood trees. And a friend lost both her parents at the same time we gifted her with an oak leaf hydrangea. Plants are a great gift idea. Food is another option. Homemade or bought. I'm a senior, married 42 years to the same man, but anyway we adore getting food gifts. When our boys were young we never had birthday party. Instead we let them choose a restaurant and 1 friend and that was it. Sometimes it would cost a lot but when it was over the party the gift and party cleaning all done. Yep, plants, food and a nice restaurant. That's what I do.

Eating a more plant based diet is such a good reset for your body. It is so hard for your body to break down dairy and milk. I'm not saying being vegan or vegetarian is for everyone. I understand that. But to give your body a break from those foods, in the least, can just give you an amazing feeling.

When the Virus shut everything down, I couldn't get my nails or hair done. I was spending $20 every 2 weeks on nails and $110 every 7 weeks on a cut, color and tip for my hair. Not to mention the time at the salons and traveling back and forth. I now color my own hair for $2.98 per box and my own nails for next to nothing saving over $1,100/year and lots of time!

That's what i also feel about gravesites. The person is always with you, in different energy or form. But still, when I have time or flowers, I purposely save them to bring to my father's grave.

Meal planning, how I love meal planning! Somehow I used to think that planning meals meant I had to eat in a specific, fixed, way, that I didn't like, because I couldn't be trusted to make good decisions. And meal planning was just for families anyway. But it turned out to be a flexible tool especially useful for singles, that saves me money, while I'm eating healthy, simple, varied and delicious meals. Because I live alone, and cook for myself, I think of meal planning as sharing with my future self.

Love all you advice. I use cloth or canvas bag at the grocery store so I can wash them. And I get the big bag of yellow microfiber clothes at Costco to do my mirrors and bathroom. They work amazing, and dusting, wiping your hands . Counter…. They are great and wash great too. Wool balls in the dryer😊😊

Must wash microfiber separately. Never dry in dryer with anything else. Lint fibers will fill the "micro" and then it is just a bad polyester rag.

Any time we go out we have a Bottle of Water and often a small cooler with extra. That takes away the temptation to buy a soda or anything else while out. Saves money and keeps off the extra pounds. I make a list when grocery shopping and do my very best to stick too it.

I wash and reuse make-up brushes and sponges for as long as possible. I've been using the same blush brush for years. You wouldn't believe it if I told you how many years! It was the door prize at a Jafra home party, and I was lucky enough to win it. I can certainly vouch for Jafra make-up brushes being very good quality!

A former student and I exchange used books as Christmas gifts each year and add homemade cookies and candies along with the gift. Knowing I am going to get a new used book is one Christmas gift I really look forward to each year. Then I take other books I no longer read and pass them onto our local friends of the library group.

    I'm glad to know others
feel the same way about not visiting graves. I know my family members had Jesus in their life and they're with him. I would much rather pray and send messages to them then visit graves. Graves to me are a small thing and when a believer dies it isn't sad. My husband believed the same way. I know where he is buried but he isn't there. He is with Jesus.

I don’t even own a hair dryer, air drying for the win. We also use our towels a few times and when they start smelling musty we wash them. I mean, all you are doing is wiping off clean water anyways.

I only read non-fiction until my husband introduced me to the Pendergast Series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. They seem to come out with a new book at least every year for at least the last 20 years, and I look forward to it every year. The first one I read was Cabinet of Curiosities (it turned out to be out of order, but it got me hooked and I have read it twice!

Interesting about Dreft! Is it in liquid 🤔 format?
I don't own a hair dryer. I wash towels once per week; I call it "Towel Tuesday." On that day, I wash the bath towels and hand towels then! I don't even use make up, haha except for lipstick and eyebrow pencil. Farmer's markets are my husband's & I....our fave Saturday trek! Today, we bought 🍅tomatoes, 🥔 potatoes , & unsweetened pear jam made by an Amish family. Last week was sweet onion and yellow squash, along with more..tomatoes, potatoes and raspberry jam!

Here where I live in Brazil farmers markets are a scam. People buy from the same huge place that sells to supermarkets, overprice and sell on the street. I buy from a fixed place that regularly has great sales on less than perfect produce and is cheaper overall.

I have said it before, meal planning is not my thing. Works for lots of folks..not for me. If I eat a meal I'm not hungry for, it's blah. I want to enjoy what I eat. But we are frugal. We keep a very well-stocked pantry & have 2 freezers & 2 fridges w/ freezers. We get food on sale. We get meat for half-price, or better !...then I vacuum pack it. It keeps for years w/ no freezer burn or deterioration in taste. I can put a meal together quickly using food from freezers & pantry ( which is a room, not a cupboard) & it's at sale prices. This is how I get around my need to eat what I'm hungry for at that moment w/ out blowing the budget. If there's a will, there's a way.. 😄
We have a no meat meal at least weekly..& meat isn't the biggest portion on our plates.
Also, I prepare some meals in advance & freeze them. I usually have some soups & casseroles in freezer...so when I'm hungry for a specific something, if it's in freezer, I'm all set !
We went to the town farmer's market a few weeks ago where we met a lovely young woman..struck up a conversation w/ her. She was selling goat's milk soap she'd made from milk from their own goats ! I bought a bar & love it. And now we also buy their goat's milk...we go out to their farm.
I make soap, too, & have given it as gifts many times. And I crochet..friends & family frequently get things I make ..pot holders, shopping totes, filet crochet done in crochet thread, etc.
I air dry my hair 99% of the time. Your suggestion is excellent.
We love Half-Price book store...& I opt for used books on Amazon if I want to own it. But have lifelong love for libraries!
I grew up using a bath towel once because that's how my mom ran our house. After getting married, that habit lasted maybe 1 week ! 😄 Ron wasn't raised that way & it quickly became apparent that we'd have a whole lot of laundry fast & in a hurry...so we started changing out the bath towels weekly.
Another great video, Jennifer, & pretty white blouse !

How much water does a tree need each day? There is a reason the area of the USA, I live in is called the meat and potatoes region. I have very few issues with the Vegan/plant based community except they believe their way is better for (the environment). Our meat is sourced locally. We raise it and eat it. Is that for every one nope. A huge trend is locally sourced everything...but try and locally source a plant based diet within 100 miles of me, is near impossible, unless you use those trucks you talked about. I am not condemning or even disagreeing with your way of eating....just putting out there...to be open to choice and personal responsibility. Frugality in your area may not be frugal in my area when it comes to food. Blessings and good eating.
