For 1999 Chevy venture, you need to take out PCM program fuse. lock all your van door. Insert the key. Turn the key toward to start, but not start engine, just making the panel all lights on. Turn the key back to acc. Then, Turn the key toward start, but not start engine, just making the front panel all lights on. Turn the key back to acc. Do it quickly without delay for three times. Open the driver door and close it quickly and tightly. Press the fob lock and unlock key together for 30 seconds. When you hear a beep, the fob is programmed well.
It work but when you say hit the lock then the unlock button im not sure if was from the driver door but i figure it out that is from the fob, well that way works for me, acc up, off, acc up, off ,acc down, press lock on the fob the seatbelt light and the chime will blink ,then hit unlock on the fob, again the seatbelt light and chime will sound, move the switch to off position and is done. Replace the fuse again.

You should get one chime. Open and close the driver door. You should get another chime. Hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time on your key fob until you hear a chime at 7 seconds, and then another chime at 14 seconds. Your new key fob should be working. Put the fuse back in and you're good to go.
I did this and now I only have one fob. I want to use my original one and the spare one. Is there a way to reprogram the original one so it will still work ?
lost my original fob,bought a new one, my alarm goes off, wont let me unlock?? now what? trying to find the alarm fuse box to remove alarm? any clue where its at?
This did not work for my 1999 Pontiac Montana. I started to think there was some actual problem with the remote receiver system, until I found another variation that also didn't work, but with tips from another comment indicating he had to open all doors first did work! I suspect the it has to do with different firmware versions or something like that...anyway, this is what worked successfully for my 1999: 1. Open all doors and liftgate. 2. Close all doors. 3. Open only the front passenger side door, leaving all other doors closed through entire procdure. 4. Remove interior fuse panel cover (on right outer side of dashboard panel) 5. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse (Refer to specific fuse map on inside of panel as necessary. On mine it was a red 10am fuse 4th slot up diagonally to the right, including empty slots, from the lower right corner as you face the fuse box) 6. Sit in the pass seat and close the door. 7. Put the key in the ignition and turn backwards to the ACC position, you should here a series of chimes. Turn it back to OFF and then back to ACC within 5 seconds. 8. Open the front passenger door (you should here 1 or more chimes) then close it again pass door (you should hear at least another chime.) 9. On one remote, hold down both the LOCK and UNLOCK button (you may hear a chime immediately, but continue to hold both down for around 14 seconds - I heard another chime...you may or may not), 10. Immediately repeat step 9 with all other remotes (up to four total) until all are programmed. 11. Turn the ignition key back to off. 12. Open the front passenger door. 13. Replace the BCM PRGRM fuse. 14. Cycle the igntion key forward from OFF to ON (where all the lights come on, just before starting) and then back to OFF. 15. Try all remotes. Show less REPLY

Didn’t work on my 03 venture. I found a video by Ted Wallender “2001 venture key fob”. This one worked on my van.

I've tried everyone's version and none work. Just did a uplander and a terraza but it's a no go on the Venture

I tried that with my 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette and nothing.
I have a 2002 and I've tried this for over an hour today. Couldn't get it to work 😓
