- In April 1971 CBC debuted a brand new variety half hour series titled THE IRISH ROVERS and the first guest was Anne Murray who had a hit the previous year with "Snowbird." The Irish Rovers were Will Millar, Jimmy Ferguson, George Millar, Joe Millar and Wilcil McDowell.
It's been years that I've heard or listen to them. The good old days in Montreal.❤️🇨🇦
Wish we still had this kind of show. Always loved Ann Murray still do. And the Irish Rovers. These guys were my type of party animals. I’ve heard that cats still talking back! 😊

shame no one hears of the irish rovers or ann murray anymore (whom I feel is the real music queen of canada). all we hear about is that toothpick female singer who sang the titanic song (by the way was her only song that was worth anything)
Two of the Rovers (Jimmy Ferguson and Joe Millar) have unfortunately passed on. I only learned of Joe's passing, yesterday.
