I have a 3500 srw with the HO. I pull trailers 90% of the time for work. If I was a normal guy who tows occasionally like most of you, I wouldn’t get the HO. The aisin is harsh and clunky. The 68 transmission is smooth and much better for daily driving. I had to go with the aisin so I could get 100k miles out of my truck.
The mirror design has changed a bit but I run my 2007 3500 5.9L mirrors vertical for the exact same reason. That's they way they were designed to perform best... Also love them! Agree 100% or jist remove the magnification! The mirror shape is amazing as it doesn't block your view or get in the way in the woods. Bit the magnification sucks!

It's a big arse 2500, so it's not other people getting too close to you, you are intruding on their parking with that hitch. I have a crew 1500 and get pissed when other trucks have their hitch hanging into my parking spot.
Hahaha. I make a point to not invade the spots behind me with the hitch. And yep I know what you mean when others do it. Very annoying especially when you have a big truck that needs a whole space.
I'm at 20k on my 19 ram 3500 crew cab 4x4 long bed. It's my first diesel and I love it. Money well spent! Great video!!! I'm getting a bunch of stuff that you bought. Thanks for sharing the links.
Those little mini stone guards were stock and on it when we bought it. I did replace the front ones with husky liner mud flaps. Love those and needed them with these aggressive tires and so much time on dirt roads. They stopped the stone chips and rocks hitting the truck from the front tires instantly.
Nice truck bro. I just got one today- thanks for the heads up on tire recommendation- not a fan of the stock tires! Doesn’t your little $6 mirror block your blind spot detection alert triangle? I only use the overhead & cargo cams when switching lanes And parking... I’m so happy I don’t need to crank my neck around 10rpm like the exorcist anymore to park!
I have watched a ton of Ram videos trying to decide which truck to buy... this one with the blackout pkg is perfect. The rear seat explanation was awesome as well as how you showed every nook and cranny. Throw in some towing videos too!
Yeah that's why I want the ecoated pro version. But they did not have the wheel to wheel boards available yet. If I was going to make these ones permanent I would of rhino lined the brackets. Know alot of guys that do that and have them last forever. My bighorn did not come with leds.
They were the s. V-4 bulbs. Both high and low beams. Call them and tell them your vehicle and you want high and low beams with v4 bulbs. Thats what I did.
@@SamkoTradBow you're welcome and I agree with you on that exhaust brake it's amazing! If you were ever in a sticky situation, say a snow storm you could turn the exhaust brake on and put those RPM's up and keep it idling
Love the honest and passionate reviews! Thank you. I like the all black look, but was wondering how the black paint is holding up for you being in the forest?
Great question. I have owned a few black woods vehicles before. The key is 2 things. 1: wax, wax, and wax again. Always have a ton of wax on it as a sacrificial layer for sticks. Number 2 : wax it again.
@@brenwesterland6306 without the wax the sticks rub the clearcoat layer and because of the dark color show real well in the sunlight. The wax makes it super slick and acts as a mild protection layer between the clearcoat and the sticks. Smart thing happens with all colors but the black reflects light so well they are easier to see. The wax is the real life saver in the woods. I use meguiars ultimate wax. Its fast and easy to do and last for a few months. But right before hinting season I put 3 coats on or 2 at minimum. Then I do the same in the spring and also reapply wax to the front grill, bumper etc every couple weeks to make the bugs wipe right off easy. Wax is your friend.
@@SamkoTradBow Thank you for the detailed info! really its appreciated. Wondering what form of wax you use (liquid or paste) and if you have a particular method you like using when applying to such a large surface area? Thanks again, have a good one!
@@brenwesterland6306 I use meguiars ultimate liquid wax. It goes on really easy and doesn't leave any residue. I apply it by hand. I cover the whole truck with wax then remove it. Takes me about an hour to do by hand. I actually use it as an exercise routine. It's an hour of good arms and upper body and some mild cardio if you move at a good pace.
I do have the cargo bulb in the list. the headlight high and low beams are by headlight revolution so the only link I have is right to their website then you just type in the make and model of your truck and it will take you right to the bulbs.
If you want to know the power specs for your exact year / transmission type in 6.7 Cummins power by year. That will end all the confusion in the comments thank me later

Jist to let you know it's there if you want to save alot of money. I have never had anyone I know beat the deals I can get on trucks, rvs, boats etc. In that course I teach you how to do it.
Yes. But only a small sliver when they are in the down position. The mirrors suck for 2 reasons. I is the magnification of the main passenger mirror and 2 is the fact the the convex mirror is only horizontal when the mirrors are in to mode. They need to get rid of these mirrors and use the ones like ford and Chevy use.
You should also check out my save thousands course in the description of the video or at tbwpodcast.com and click on save thousands course. This course will teach you how to get the absolute lowest prices on your new truck or any other powersport purchase. That way when you are gonna get it you gt the lowest prices possible. I have got 20-40% off sticker prices on most of my new vehicle purchases using the skills i teach in this course.
Actually they are not. A couple companies told me that the mounting kits for wheel to wheel on a 19 are not avail yet and the 18s wont work. Talked to just about every aftermarket board supplier on realtruck.com . Besides as I said in the video I want a specific style in a wheel to wheel. Nothing square and nothing flat and want it 5 inches so that it protects my rockers from stones. So I could of got wheel to wheel from a couple manufacturers but not like I wanted. We cant have flat or square here. I live in the snow belt. Snow and slush collect on those boards and freeze then you cant open your doors or use the steps as they are solid ice.
Man I have watched this video probably 10 times and have done a lot of your mods! My mind about exploded the first time I watched it as it was information overload haha. I went with the Headlight Revolution bulbs and WOW! Anyway, one question about your tires - how did you figure the maximum amount of rubber you could fit without rubbing? I have a '19 Ram 3500 and want to put these tires on it. It currently has stock rubber 275/70R18. I was wanting to go with the 285/75R18. I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem but would hate there to be one. btw popped a Nebraska doe this last fall :-)
Glad you like the video! And congrats on your doe! Nice to have meat in the freezer! How I found that tire size was I did some research on a bunch of forums and found the size I got was the largest I could go on my stock 20 rims with out rubbing at full lock. Some guys were running 35x12.5 but they had rubbing issues with the stock wheels. after market rims will let you change offset so they dont rub. I dont want to buy after market rims so I went with what they said was biggest without rubbing because my truck lives in the woods and I need the tight turning radius and no rubbing issues when the suspension in loaded.
@@SamkoTradBow Thanks for the reply! I just pulled the trigger on the 295/70R18 AT3s. I'll let you know how they end up working. Several sources confirmed there was no rubbing so fingers crossed! Hey one thing I noticed in your video above was your led bulb positioning. Couldn't quite tell if yours LEDs were oriented at 9 and 3 o'clock (paddle mounted vertically). This maximizes the reflectors within the housing and really cuts down on road glare for oncoming traffic. Only learned this from HR website tutorial vid (ruclips.net/video/NbfAyqVgVdM/видео.html). I got the GTR Ultra 2 bulbs. They had adjustments every 10 degrees (or so) to change this orientation. Also, I just ordered some seat covers for my pickup you might find appearing. Guess I should be shopping for an extra mirror :)
@@anniefrohlich1138 Yeah this truck tows amazing. Also I will say it has the best traction control of any truck I have owned. my wife hated my f150s in the snow unless it was in 4x4. Yep but did not like the factory wheel to wheel boards as I live in the snow belt. Flat boards or square boards dont work here. they fill up with snow and slush and you cant get in or out of your truck when they freeze.
No. 2 reasons. First is because I have a 6 yr 125k warranty. Second is because last week they passed laws that you cant delete diesels anymore. Have heard the full details but its popping up all over youtube and online.

I'll put some American force 24s on that
Not where I drive it you wouldn't! This thing lives in the dirt and woods.
How has the truck been on dependability. Especially with the emissions equipment?
Flawless. Almost 60k miles on it now and it's been flawless
My 20k mile average is 14.46 MPG on my 2019 6.7 2500 Laramie. I don't know how some of these guys are reporting 19-20 something MPG.
We drive tremendous amounts of highway and live in a rural area with only 1 stop light in a 25 mile range. So there is no stop and go driving here
The mirror design has changed a bit but I run my 2007 3500 5.9L mirrors vertical for the exact same reason. That's they way they were designed to perform best... Also love them!
I've been looking at half tons lately to replace my 07 with a new 2500 6.7L and I think you have me sold! I'll still have my old 95 2500 5.9L 5spd to satisfy my 5.9L addiction, too! Great video!!
Thanks! Glad you liked the video. Appreciate the comment and hope you find the best deal on the truck you are after.
They need to upgrade those side mirrors like the F-250 or GMC 2500 style.
Agree 100% or jist remove the magnification! The mirror shape is amazing as it doesn't block your view or get in the way in the woods. Bit the magnification sucks!
Just bought a 2019 2500 same truck but in the Delmonico Red , you just helped me solve a problem with no USB ports for my rear passengers ! These mirrors BLOW but what can ya do....Thanks You for the video.
Love that red! Congrats on the new truck. You are gonna love it. Glad the video helped.
Great review!! I’d love to see an update review later on.
Just recorded an 15k mile update video. Will publish in a couple weeks. Still loving the truck!
Glad you are loving it. We love ours! Just rolled 15k on it. Gonna do fuel filters tomorrow.
I checked out Headlight revolution. It appeared they want $240 for one set of bulbs and another $200 for hight beams. Is this what you got?
Mine were under 350 for both high and low beams including shipping
You nailed it with that passenger mirror, stupid is the word... What are those mini mud flaps?
Those little mini stone guards were stock and on it when we bought it. I did replace the front ones with husky liner mud flaps. Love those and needed them with these aggressive tires and so much time on dirt roads. They stopped the stone chips and rocks hitting the truck from the front tires instantly.
Great video! Informative and thorough. Ram should give you a small commission on all 2500s sold.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Nice truck bro.
You will love the truck. I dont have blind spot monitoring or the over head cam in my truck. So that little mirror works great for me.
Great video! Question on the tires, when out in the woods is there any rubbing at all? Thinking of going with the same set up.
No rubbing even at full articulated. No rubbing in any condition.
Pros- it sucks
Cons- its a dodge piece of shit
I have watched a ton of Ram videos trying to decide which truck to buy... this one with the blackout pkg is perfect. The rear seat explanation was awesome as well as how you showed every nook and cranny. Throw in some towing videos too!
Thanks! We love the truck. Just towed our camper loaded to about 8500 for 2000 miles and got 11 mpg average. Tows like a dream and so easy to drive.
I want the 2019 Mega cab....👍
Sweet truck! I highly recommend the ram. Best truck I have ever owned so far.
I knew there was something wrong with my passenger side mirror. Your 100% correct!!! It does suck.
Yeah the mirrors is a horrible design. Why the hell would ram magnify it.
Had ionic nerf boards and the brackets rusted and looked like garbage in a month...hated them...my ram 2500 bighorn came with the leds...
Yeah that's why I want the ecoated pro version. But they did not have the wheel to wheel boards available yet. If I was going to make these ones permanent I would of rhino lined the brackets. Know alot of guys that do that and have them last forever. My bighorn did not come with leds.
Could you put links for the specific headlight revaluation bulbs you went with?
They were the s. V-4 bulbs. Both high and low beams. Call them and tell them your vehicle and you want high and low beams with v4 bulbs. Thats what I did.
Awesome video...Just bought a 2500 Laramie! quite a step up from an f150 with roll up windows
Thanks! You are gonna love it! The quality throughout is fantastic and the coil springs really ride nice for a hd truck in the woods and rough stuff.
Very amazing quality video! Thank you for sharing
thank you.
@@SamkoTradBow you're welcome and I agree with you on that exhaust brake it's amazing! If you were ever in a sticky situation, say a snow storm you could turn the exhaust brake on and put those RPM's up and keep it idling
Had wildpeaks on my old 1 ton for 3 years 100k kms, still over half life. Unbelievable tires.
Glad to hear! Always had great luck with them as well!
@@SamkoTradBow Huh great answer thanks!
You forgot to put link for high and low beams, or you used backup and cargo light bulb?
I do have the cargo bulb in the list. the headlight high and low beams are by headlight revolution so the only link I have is right to their website then you just type in the make and model of your truck and it will take you right to the bulbs.
If you want to know the power specs for your exact year / transmission type in 6.7 Cummins power by year. That will end all the confusion in the comments thank me later
Thanks! I was going to look them up and them in the video as text but forgot to do it.
Awesome review. I’m in the market for one as well. Just grab yourself some wet okole seat covers and you’ll be good to go.
Yep you will love it. You should check out my course in the video description. It will save you so much money. I dont say that to pressure you. Jist to let you know it's there if you want to save alot of money. I have never had anyone I know beat the deals I can get on trucks, rvs, boats etc. In that course I teach you how to do it.
You know you can adjust the factory bubble mirror so that you can see your blind spots, right?

370hp/850tq 2500 only 3500 400hp/1000tq nice truck
Thank you and thank you for clarifying the specs. I was gonna go back and put the true specs in the description and forgot to.
That is my dream truck... willin to bust my ass for it
You should also check out my save thousands course in the description of the video or at tbwpodcast.com and click on save thousands course. This course will teach you how to get the absolute lowest prices on your new truck or any other powersport purchase. That way when you are gonna get it you gt the lowest prices possible. I have got 20-40% off sticker prices on most of my new vehicle purchases using the skills i teach in this course.
You kept going on about the running board... why not get a 2018 running board? These are the same cab, same frame as the older 2014-2018 models
Different frame.
Best review by far, can’t understand how someone not like it but keep it up
Thank you.
It's not Cummings. Its CUMMINS!!!!

Check youtube for Head Waters Seat Covers. They cater towards dudes like us that like to hunt. Thanks again for taking the time to review your awesome truck!
@@codygronsten3133 you are gonna love the tires! Good info about the led bulb alignment. Will have to look and see how I have them. Thanks again for the info and suggestions.
Great video! Smart thinkin', man! So you don't like the mirrors, Huh? I'm not sure you made that clear... especially in the down position!
BAHAAHAAHAAA!
Hahaha. I was trying to be suddle!
christopher waldrop regarding the mirrors, the only way I can see with them is in the tow mode. Wish they have mirrors like ford ad I full agree with entire video and you have a sweet ride
What PSI are you running in those falkens?
Think I'm at 50 or 55. I asked the tire shop last time I had them rotated and he said he has them on his f350 and he said that was where he found most even wear. But honestly I don't know what is best yet. I was at 70 when I got them and that was very harsh ride.
Still having good luck out of the LED headlights? Any flickering or weird issues?
No issues or flicker and the LEDs are the best things I did to the truck. Amazing lights!
Awesome. Thanks for the info.
Dream truck 🙏🏽
Thank you. We love it. It has been amazing so far.
You lost me at "1000 watt LED bulbs"....🙄
That's too bad. These is some great info in that video for ya.
I have a ram diesel 1500 Outdoorsman and my hubby and I are shopping for another and this was very helpful. I’m not too fond of the column transmission, I prefer the knob but hey, you’ve convinced me.
You will love this truck! Been 6 months and 13k miles so far and half that towing 8500 pounds. Best truck I have ever owned!
We tow 2 atvs, snowmobile and fishing boat . I’ve had a Powerwagon manual transmission before and adored it. I live in Quebec and winters can be quite harsh so we need a truck on guarantee ...and we love trucks. I think I’ve watched your video 4 times already. I really appreciate the pertinent infos. Guess I should be shopping for an extra mirror :)
@@anniefrohlich1138 Yeah this truck tows amazing. Also I will say it has the best traction control of any truck I have owned. my wife hated my f150s in the snow unless it was in 4x4. This truck the traction control is so spot on and fast its almost boring but my wife loves the no sliding or spinning tires in the snow and ice. She says she feels safer in this truck than any vehicle she has ever owned. The mirror on the passenger side definitely takes some getting used to. But not gonna lie. my little 6 dollar stick on blind spot mirror i put on is freaking amazing!!! solves all my problems with the big mirror and even adds a little extra when the mirrors are tipped up in the tow position.
Love your vids, great info. I am looking to replace my bulbs on the same truck you have. What bulbs did you go with from headlight revolution and any difficulties with installation? Thanks, keep up the great work.
At the time I bought mine they only offered one bulb for the ram 2500. It had a digital module pack and was a "v2" model.
Yep the installation was not hard but very tight to get your hands into and took me about an hour and a half. But again not hard just tricky to fit it all in the housing and close it up. Almost like you need 2 hands in there but can only fit one. But after a little yelling and different attempts I made it happen..lol

These trucks have to be standard 7000 payload n 30000 towing
