  • In this video, the garage has become jammed and unable to open because the parts on the back have snapped, so the first point is to open the garage door and the second is to repair the problem. If you need to buy parts for your garage locks see our website the link is below.

    This video totally did the job! In the video you unlocked the broken garage door in 30 seconds. For me it took 60 seconds, but OMG.. Thank you for sharing this great tip!

    I tried that but did not work - any other ideas? The key turns and opens the lock but door won’t move up to open.

    Useful video, thanks. I was hoping this would help me but it's not that our cable's snapped (we have rigid metal rods) it seems one side lock/latch is not releasing when we unlock and twist the door handle, as the left is released and wants to open.. Is there some kind of fishing I can do for the right side that's stuck locked? I'm locked out of my garage, help!

    Great video. I got the cable in real easy. Can now open from the inside. Now the T-Handle on the outside wont work. Have i threaded the cable wrong?

    Too bad it's not applicable in my case while the lock. Assembly is centered in the door it has unequal length bars that run from the lock assembly to edge of the door.

    The cable snapped because it is being slowly cut by metal on metal contact with the rotating cable plate each time the lock is locked and unlocked. Like mc or ac cable, it needs a nylon liner to avoid metal on metal.

      Yes, its often metal on metal that cuts the cable, its a bad design but thats the way its been done for many years, hopefully someone will make a better system in the future

      @@DrLockShop I replaced mine with 2 lengths of cable. Looking from inside, one cable connects the left latch to the bottom of the handle & the other cable connects right latch to the top of the handle. A clockwise turn opens the door and the cable isn't rubbing/twisting.

    Got a bite on your first cast. lol. A plastic push in type of O ring would be handy to snap into the recess holes to give the cable longevity if they were available. Did you drop into Bunnings for the Lenlok cable? I thought we were the only ones being extorted by the petrol prices. I noticed the BP servo prices. Bloody highway robbery:-)

      Hi, Its worse in the school holidays , the price goes up 20-30 cent P/L, I like the lenlok cable, you get the clamp screws and its all packed in a small pack, Bunning sell you 10m at a time, its cheaper, but always ends up floating around the van once opened

      @DrLockShop  4 года назад

      RTM, Jaycar , AME, the big stuff for the inverter is the worst $30 a meter, almost all runs are twin sheath, that stuff I get from AME, an auto electrical wholesaller

      He should be using lithium grease so it doesn’t evaporate like wd40.
