Excellent video. Can you also make one though that goes over and explains what each of the main components are inside the TV and what role they play in the overall system? Also, can you note who manufactures each of the components if they are sourced from a 3rd-party supplier?
Thank you for the feedback. I can make a video going over each board, what they do and how they communicate with one another, what role they play in the overall system yes. However I won't go into manufacturing of the components, there are thousands of components made by many different manufacturers, I don't think that would be beneficial and would take way to long.
thanks for that you saved my tv, i washed the screen and the water leaked into the on/off circuit board at the middle lower........ it took ages to dry out with hair dryer because water was trapped between the 3 boards........... it hasn't switched off yet so seems ok now............. i don't think the trapped water would've ever dried out or taken about a week
Water damage is often not a death sentence as long as you turn the TV off, disconnect it from power and properly dry it. Often it's a good idea to use Isopropyle alcohole to help flush out the water as well. Use 90% or higher if possible. IPA is none conductive and evaporates quickly.
@@NicksTVRepair mine was on for some time with water damage !!!!!! but it was only in that bottom area between the speakers, it took ages to dry out but has been perfect since......... i was lucky.
Thanks Nick! Are you planning to do a similar video for X90K? Mine the top left corner of the back cover popped out due to a recent move and I would like to learn from you how to open the full back cover and fix it.@@NicksTVRepair
I am sorry to say but usually lines indicate bad panel which is not often repairable as the screen usually needs to be replaced to repair this fault. Replacing the screen is not cost effective. Sometimes the panel can be fixed but you will need to bring it in to someone that really knows what they are doing.
my sony x5590j model TV display physically broken service center quateing around 665$ for replacement its already compleated 2yrs of my purchase is it worth to spend on it or any alternate will u suggest?
I would say cut your loses, sell your mainboard on eBay and use the money from the mainboard sale and the money you would have spent on the repair to purchase a new set. At $665 you can buy a very nice new 55".
You know what, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that an XR-55A80J walked in and I plan on doing a video on how to open it and while it's the 55" its going to be the same process for the 55" 65" and 77". The bad news is that I am leaving town today for 15 days, so I won't be making that video until after the holiday and it may take a week or two before it publishes Although the process is very similar to this one for the clips, so you could use this video as a guide.

Really helpful! Would the process be similar for X95K?
I haven't opened up an X95K recently but if I recall yes it's almost the same
@@NicksTVRepairyou wouldn’t be able to do this while the TV is standing, would you?
Thanks. And you obviously wouldn't be able to do this while the TV was standing, would you?@@NicksTVRepair

Hi,
Thanks for the tutorial.
Can you show how to replace a backlight stip for the same tv?
If one comes in with LED failure I can but I haven't had one of these with that failure yet

Hello, the CA module does not appear on Sony xh9096 TV. Where might the problem be?
I don't know that I understand your question. What is the CA module.

I don't have an X95J in the shop right now, but when one does come in I will make sure to do a video on it.
